  • Anaemia is a condition where the number and size of red blood cells is lower than normal and can be attributed to poor health and nutrition. Most commonly anaemia is due to iron deficiency and particularly hits women and adolescent girls the hardest. This results in symptoms such as fatigue, challenges focusing and potential negative health consequences in pregnancy for both mothers and their babies. Nutrition International helps deliver iron to the populations who need it most by providing leadership, technical expertise and implementing iron supplementation and fortification programs to developing countries. Through our interventions, we have contributed to improving access to iron for millions of women and young girls around the world and are committed to continuing in the fight against anaemia so girls that survive and thrive.
