Kinda sad that young people don't know about Concorde. My Dad took me to the airport in Auckland in 1986 to see it - never forget it. Sadly a poorly maintained 1970's aircraft (a DC10) that dropped debris on the runway and caused a fatal accident that killed a lot of very rich people (and thus a lot of legal suits), plus the horrific fuel costs of running it brought it to an end.

I'm getting this set soon. I'm glad Lego to doing Real Commercial planes. I plan to make a personal LEGO plane museum in my house to fill these sets with.
In 1999 I was one of the kids that paraded through Edinburgh to celebrate the opening of the Scottish Parliament. The highlight was having Concorde fly overhead at 1k ft flanked by the Red Arrows. Of course, in the days before camera phones so I didn’t get a video.
I always have found memories of it on what seemed to be every Sunday at about 4pm taking off from Heathrow Airport and it then flying over my parents house. My grandfather was an electronics engineer and part of the team that created the fly by wire system on the Concorde prototype. That and the TSR2. Both now sit next to eachother at Duxford Air Museum near London. He liked lego and he would have definitely liked this.

Dude, no offense, but flying from New York to Paris takes between 7.5 and 8 hours with a conventional airplane, not 6. That's what made the Concorde so appealing, because it cut the trip down to less than half the flying time, and helped you avoid jet lag

Lego's art designers did a wonderful time capturing its silhouette, and the engineers on this project did a perfect time taking the artists' work and making a beautiful and solid brick build.
I usually don’t like how high Lego sets have been (though their design quality has certainly improved in the past year or two) but this is a set I’d definitely pick up for its price this is close to the type of detail you’d get from an actual plastic model but built in Lego I do wish it can with a a pilot and co pilot mini figure just for display
I grew up on Long Island in the 80s, and I remember that often during the summers, among the other planes flying over on their way from europe to JFK or LaGuardia, you would occasionally see a Concorde flying over. :D
I would argue that the Boeing 747 is a more iconic aircraft and as aviation enthusiast who's craze started when I first flew on this aircraft back in 2005, I would love to see LEGO release an actual 747 set. It would be my dream to get enough content creators and fans to petition LEGO to make one. As soon as Black Friday rolls around I'm getting the Concorde
The yellowing of the white pieces is not really an issue of sunlight, it is more an issue with temperature coming with sunlight. The UV-radiation helps to counter the yellowing. It is even more effective when bathing the pieces in hydrogen peroxide (keep the stuff far, far away from children und always wear protective gear when using hydrogen peroxide!!!) and using UV-radiation.

"Quick" correction for you - this is gonna be long, because it's a genuinely interesting topic and I wanna share things that interest me, this being one of them, but you don't have to take the time to read it all if you don't want. Concorde is -not- the most famous and innovative aircraft of our time - you could argue it is the most *in*famous aircraft in recent history (Though it is one of the most well known) - and while when it launched it was ground-breaking technology-wise, it was a commercial disaster. The reasons behind this are many and all very interesting but it boils down to the following issues: High maintenance cost; High fuel consumption; High risk of structural failure; High sound pollution; High research and build cost resulting in high retail price for companies. It used several insanely cool features to help it do what it did, and it wasn't the only aircraft like it either. The Russians had their own version called the TU-144. Britain and France worked together to make Concorde, sinking billions into a very troubled research period where things just did not go according to plan - by the time it rolled off the production line it had become so expensive that nobody wanted to buy it. Britain and France ended up being the only people who manned them and much less were made than they wanted too. they guzzled fuel and were infamously problematic with maintenance, so they were expensive to run - but worst of all, they were loud both inside and out - so much so that they could not go supersonic above land, making them entirely useless for cross-country, only good for trans-Atlantic flights. Admittedly, they *were* good at that, but the cost effectiveness was very low as their high maintenance also resulted in high ticket prices. They also exploded. A lot. this isn't new technology, they were in commercial use in the 1970's. 76 specifically, though the first test flight was 69. The honest truth is, they never should have been built but Britain and France spent so much on building them that they ended up in a sunk cost fallacy, stubbornly keeping it around until they proved to be more hazardous and justification was no longer viable. That was in 2000, and were formally decommissioned for good in 2003, so they really are a relic of history now. Twenty years, it's bizarre because even though I'm not that old, I remember the day they were announced as being grounded and decommissioned. Despite all their flaws, the Concorde DOES remain one of the coolest looking planes with one of the most interesting stories in recent history, but it isn't as current as you think. they're a 50 year old plane that hasn't been in service for 20 years... and despite having had the technology to make supersonic airlines for 50 years now, we never tried again. The Concorde is the whole reason why: It's only useful in specific circumstances, horrendously inefficient and honestly so expensive that it's genuinely better just to suck it up for a few more hours rather than burn several hundred tonnes of fuel on a trip that with modern planes would take a fraction of the amount. Doesn't stop plane enthusiasts like myself from loving this thing to bits. Everyone loves a droop snoot. Amazing piece of history, definitely worth looking into more!

I love my Concorde Lego I will always love aviation, concorde is the best Lego icons thank you for reviewing this I love mine to thanks for reviewing this Lego build
As an Air crash investigation fan this is great set that i am definitely getting for Christmas, and it based of Concorde 001 F WTSS which is now displayed and the Le Bourget Air and Space Museum in France 🇫🇷
Looks more like its based upon the pre-production concordes (101 and 102) - notice the "Concorde" logo on the tail.
THE SNOOT DROOPS!! ❤
