Only thing I can think of is building the wings out of plates so the leading edges could taper down, but that would need a ton of plates and upside down plates to keep the smooth look.

My biggest worry was the structural integrity. The fact that Jang was able to easily throw it about and pose it at the end alleviated all of that. This is a definite buy for me. Thanks Jang!

The only thing that would have made this set better would have been optional Air France and British airways decals but I understand why they didn't do that. I HOPE lego sees the positive response to this set and makes all new sets to this standard of price/what you get ratio, and quality.

As a practicing Structural Engineer and lego lover, this set amazes me. From a technical standpoint the strength to slenderness ratio is amazing. The other cool thing is the stand, it would need to be connected to the centre of mass of the Concorde model to allow it to be displayed in flight position. Great job lego, now I just need to save up the $300AUD to make the purchase !

Extra pieces to help construct a model are used before. The Lego Creator Ferrari F40 had 2 1x3 green plates. Another example is the Lego Star Wars V19 had an extra 1x8 brick (or was it a tech bar, not sure anymore) to help allign the wings. And there are some other examples. I know the racers line does this sometimes, but those parts are used later in the process. But ok, back to this set. What a Behemoth. I hope my wife is willing to give this for my upcoming birthday. Do I have space for it? No, but I have to rearrange my Lego room anyway. Bad thing of being Dutch is, that houses arent that big, comparing to American houses (at least outside the city center). Have to do it with 16 square meters. Well, at least it will make me drewl watching the internet anything other than adult stuff. Always a pleasure to watch your content.

This was an incredible build. There was a couple of things I felt could have done better. The 2x4 with red stripe on each side of fuselage, the cheese slope on the wing edge. I was stumped when the instructions had an orange assembly to lock up the gear mechanism early on. It was removed a couple steps later.
But.... well worth the investment. Agreed with others. There needs to be more sets like this.

    • @Stereomoo
      @Stereomoo 10 месяцев назад

That's to get the axles for left and right main gear aligned, since they're linked through gears and it's really the easiest way to make sure the whole geartrain is synchronized. Other sets with similarly linked mechanisms (like multiple steerable axles) often do the same thing where temporary parts lock them into the matching positions.

Loved the set from the moment it was revealed, and every review I see only confirms it! It gives me the same vibe as the Saturn V, another almost flawless set. This is gonna be a 100% certein buy for me.....I only have to think where and how I'm gonna display it (somehow mount it flat against a wall maybe?)
There's only two things I would have rather seen different: 1) those studded plates on the wings, which could just as well have been tiles. Easy fix. And 2), as cool as that landing gear is, it would have been even better if it could be removed in an easy way, with some additional parts to close things up nicely.

It’s a brilliant model and build. Nothing has felt repetitive at all! My only complaint is the shape of the nose… it’s a bit wonky as the three cone pieces don’t perfectly align.
It seems like it’s been incredibly popular too, at least in the U.K. I ordered as soon as it came available and delivery was delayed nearly a week, which has never happened before. And it went on back order pretty quickly.
With the Airbus partnership and the popularity of this, I’m hopeful we will get an A380 in the future!

Great review. Nice looking kit, but once again I have a problem with prints being misaligned. That will really spoil the red cheatline along the fuselage. I also do wish that they had made one more specialized part at the bottom of the cockpit to more smoothly blend the underside into the back of the nose cone pieces.

It was missing one dark blue 2×1×1 Technic piece (with a cross hole and round hole) that is a part of the main gear retraction mechanism in bag 3, so pretty early in the construction. And the piece is enclosed deep inside so I couldn't postpone it and wait for replacement from LEGO unless I wanted to stop the whole build. Had to steal it from some other set.

I saw one in the airport Lego store for £144. I had to pick it up. It was a steal!

I have enough cash right now to spend on only one and it's a difficult choice between this and The Ghost 75357 ($170). Which of the two would you recommend I pick up first?

Maybe this is blasphemous to say, but I think they should have made it minifigure scale. Like, even enough to sit them in those seats. The set is amazing and I get that it's not supposed to be a playset, but they could have potentially gotten the best of both worlds. Like, imagine if you (as in, anyone) could put this in your custom city with minifigures boarding

This is a phenomenal set! I probably won't get it due to budget and space as a poor college student who still lives at home, but if I had $200 to spend on LEGO and plenty of space, this would be the first set to go for. I'm not much of an airplane guy (I do like watching documentaries on plane crashes though, funnily enough) and I didn't know much about the Concorde prior to LEGO announcing the model, but I've come to learn more and appreciate both the aircraft and the set even more. I suggest anyone who is even the slightest bit curious about the set or aircraft take a bit of time to learn more about the plane; it's a truly phenomenal aircraft with a phenomenal set of it here done by LEGO!

Fun fact, Lego has actually done the temporary bracket thing as far back as set 7674 V-19 Torrent

I doubt Lego would make this since it’s a retired military aircraft, but I would LOVE to see a Lego Avro Vulcan, similar to this Concorde build.

I think, could be wrong but i think the brackets were used on the v19 torrent from 2009ish. But I built it more than 10 years ago so I could easily be wrong

As an icon set, surely lego must make the queen of the skies, the 747. Hopefully the 747-400

I consider Concorde the greatest engineering achievement of the 20th Century. What a beautiful, even feminine and absolutely timeless thing it is. Lots of love from Australia.

I would love more airliners at this scale or similar. They have the Boeing and Airbus licensing so it should be no issue
