    I've been nerding out on bowling approaches and releases for a long time, and you're one of the few people I have found that actually explains this concept really well. Your hand is an object in motion and will remain in motion unless acted upon by another force - the ball - a spherical object. Your hand will naturally spin around to the "correct" position based on your own hand and arm simply because of physics. Excellent job on the video. You've earned an enthusiastic new subscriber.
    PS: Just one thing to help with the English - if you are talking about an action (a verb) as a noun, it sounds more natural to use the -ing form of the verb.
    This sounds weird: Why is *stay* behind the ball important?
    This sounds better: Why is *staying* behind the ball important?
    Hope this helps!

      @@BowlismOutlaw more so the ball doesn’t feel on my hand once my push away starts… makes me lose it on the bottom of my release sometimes and make me really inconsistent shot to shot

    • @BowlismOutlaw
      @BowlismOutlaw  11 месяцев назад +4

      It seems you need a tip for holding the ball. If you usually lose the bottom of the swing when releasing the ball, let' try this tip:
      1. Cup you wrist and let the ball lie between your palm and wrist. Keep the ball their most of the time during the swing. prnt.sc/u4pZ5Hu_NX_M
      2. When releasing the ball, don't think about uncupping the wrist. Instead, you need to keep the palm below the ball and follow through. What people assume that 2 handed bowlers should cup and uncup their hand during the release is just an assumption when watching the slo-mo videos.
      The truth is the hand is naturally uncupped due to the weight of the bowling ball. If you try to uncup the wrist, you try to do that even before the nature of your hand and the result is your ball loses its hook potential or even drops.
      I hope this tip can help you improve the bottom of the swing. I will have a video about this soon. So stay tuned :D

    I struggle with this so much and it causes an inconsistent release and I can never confidently make a shot knowing what the ball will do. I don’t have a traditional 2 handed approach as I don’t have a “hop” or “skip” step. This makes ball speed harder for me. I’m wondering though if I have early timing and/or if because I have 1” reverse in both fingers that my hand naturally wants to let go of the ball earlier? Would love your feedback and excellent presentation!

    using your channel to improve myself as I am self taught and I thought staying behind the ball was staying behind the ball even at the release. so when release my wrist is still pointing straight but my wrist is bent to the side creating the angle. Maybe that is why my wrist aches sometimes. I also have left hip pains sometimes after bowling 4-8 games fast, I think my approach needs work. I think at the end of my approach I am not stable and overextending my hip.

    • @BowlismOutlaw
      @BowlismOutlaw  Год назад

      Bro, I have 2 questions:
      1. Are you intentionally uncupping your wrist when releasing?
      2. Are you walking on a straight line without 1st drift step?

    • @SkepticalVex
      @SkepticalVex Год назад +1

      @@BowlismOutlaw So I waited until last nights league of Scorpion to respond. I used the Pitchback for the first time ever, averaged 150.
      1. I am not intentionally uncupping my wrist. I tried to intentionally uncup my wrist on my release and sometimes it worked and sometimes it make me very inaccurate. I find that I like to control my release with my fingers.
      2. I struggle with this because I kind of don't have my approach perfected so sometimes when I can't create ball speed I go straight at the line. Other times like last night and Monday, I have been able to create ball speed all night (4 games 4 per lane) so I have been using the drift step more strictly.

    • @BowlismOutlaw
      @BowlismOutlaw  Год назад

      Actually I recommend not thinking about uncupping hand during the release of 2 handers. Instead, you can just keep the cup and follow thru. The ball will automatically leave your hand while uncupping it, meaning we don’t have to intentionally do it 😃
