Geez! This is basically like the band just picked up from right after Paradise Theater. This is so good, we don't deserve it!! The Mission was awesome as well. Can't think of ANY other band that has had some of their best music two albums in a row 40+ years after their supposed prime!
I had to say definitely last 2 best since pieces of eight if they made song longs probably could have been as good as those
I was thinking the same, re: right after Paradise Theater. Great album! I've listened a few times and right away I loved it.
Love your comment! They’re so great in concert .. They play a couple times per year in Vegas right down the road from my house .. I see them every time. I’m so blown away by them (they need to NOT have Nancy Wilson play with them tho. I was so disappointed that they tossed several of their new songs so she could play. It was terrible)
I endorse every word of this post.
STYX Still Continues To ROCK
Styx ,reviv
A Classic / Prog Rock tour de force, harnessing the band’s musical elements from the 70’s accompanied by contemporary storytelling.
WOW! The only difference in their voices, is that they have become richer in tone. Love this new music from them!
Tommy Shaw has become a true American living legend. Still writes, sings plays and even almost looks like he always did. The man is an ageless wonder.
This entire album is amazing. Styx rocks!!
I just bought this album, unheard, on the strength of a review by Pete Pardo on his "Sea of Tranquility" channel. And because I'm a long time Styx fan (first concert: August 1978, Alpine Valley, WI).
As the first song I've heard off an album I've already bought, I gotta say I'm really psyched. This cut is great.
Pete is a huge Styx fan and is definitely spreading the love
Pete has opened my eyes to so much more music.
@Eric Bassham dude, that’s quite a bill there. Jealous
STYX is the only band I will go see time and time again....
Glad to see styx back on tour.
Right on! Sounds like Styx and shows a volcano eyeball spewing money. Them's my Boys 💗.
One of my best memories was meeting Tommy Shaw in Denver. Thank you Tommy. I was a teeny bopper then but not anymore. Lol.
This whole album is fantastic. I love Hold Back the Darkness and Save Us From Ourselves.
Great to see you guys are still jamming.
This new song is very good.
Keep rocking, fellas. We still enjoy your music, even if radio is deaf.
Please put out a new album every year. Never stop writing songs.
They'll probably go every 2 or 3 years until they have to retire.
Seen them in Kansas city last night, Rocked like old times!!
They still sound great!! Vocals still strong 🙂
Saw this played live by the band last night. It fit right in with all the other classic Styx songs. Great job!
Got to see this song live yesterday in Lincoln, NE. Thank you Styx and Collective Soul for a FANTASTIC night! 🤘💞
Just saw the show in OKC. I'll second that 'Fantastic'!!
And me and my daughter got to see Styx and Collective Soul on June the 18th 2021 in Alpharetta Georgia. A kick ass concert 🎸
All these dennis Deyuck lovers need to go see deyuck and his Clone band that looks like Tommy Shaw and James Young.
How pathetic can Deyuck get?
STYX releases a track unexpectedly, and it's a killer.
Well done Styx. COTC is a great album. Thank you.
this album honestly is awesome. i started listening to styx last year and it’s honestly what got me through quarantine. i’m seeing them perform the 13th and i’m so excited
Indeed 🌹 ❤ A True Tapestry Of Love ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ It Is A Honor. ❤️ 🍁🕊🕊🦆🍁😊
There is a ton of Beatles influences in this
Actually they remind me al little bit like Genesis, the early albums
I’m getting massive ELO vibes in parts.
Just as good now as back then. Incredible.
Love the sound! Great video! STYX!! REVERIES: A state of being pleasently lost in ones thoughts , a daydream...🎸🎸🎶🎶
This entire album is fantastic....
Love this song so much.. the whole album is CRACK
STYX rules!!!!
Wow! Great video! Very psychedelic video, very Beatlesesque in the Magic Mystery Machine influence, and psychedelic in the music, I can hear Emerson,Lake and Palmer, Proggy, great interpretation of these. 100% Styx! The depth of Styx’s talent is amazing and incredible!
10/10. Do not give up on this band!
Seen this song live last week in Port Huron, MI. Really like this song. I can only describe is as a modern Styx song. It has everything…great guitar work and tremendous vocals.
great new albums by Kansas and Styx!
What a great tune ! Listen to the words in the new Styx albums. They are trying to wake humanity up with their lyrical musings. Take note, people ! :)
Great video guys! The new Styx album is strong. Actually the only Styx album that was not strong occurred when DY was in the band. Great writing. Great instrumental and vocal performances. I always told my friends, even when I was just a kid that Styx was the real thing. This new album continues that trend! Gowan is a phenomenal songwriter, performer, instrumentalist and singer. I love where some of his influences have taken this band. Very fresh! Very cool! Very STYX!!
Last night in Youngstown. Tommy opened up stating they were going to perform for us a rock-n-roll show and they did just that. The finest professional high energy rock and roll performance by one of the longest, hardest working stars from my generation is exactly what we experienced.
It's like the band Yes crashed into the Beatles and decided to put a song out. I just found this song today and feel sad that I didn't know Styx had new material out.
This is as good as the mission which is epic! .Side two on the album is even better than side one. can't wait to see them in Phoenix and Las Vegas with all my Styx family that I miss dearly.
Styx meets ELP meets a bit of Hackett-era Genesis... nice original melange... smoking guitar
Styx rocks🔥
This seems to be going back to the Wooden Nickel years for musical style.
Not completely, but you can definitely hear more Wooden Nickel influences in the music.
Loving the album, visualization all you do!!
Glad to see Styx released modren album!
i love this was amazing
Great guitar work, drums and vocals by Tommy.
It’s great to hear an actually excellent album by a classic band - this album is a rarity in that it’s great on it own, but when compared to other Rick bands of the same era, this new music stands far above the mediocrity being put out otherwise by others. Such a fantastic listen straight through from start to finish. Very happy to hear such a good record!
Other classic bands have been really active recently too. Alice Cooper, ACDC, Kansas, and Blue Öyster Cult have also all released new albums since 2020.
@@johnmannino3100 but the ac dc album is lame. I will try the others, but have little doubt of their greatness as the crash of crowns is - I saw Alice Cooper just this last Sunday and he was great live, again, but I don’t know about his new recordings
@@rimmetheclown if I'm gonna be honest I hadn't actually listened to the ACDC one so thank you. It was actually next on my list, so thank you. Of the others I would definitely recommend the Blue Öyster Cult one.
Recently went to your 50th anniversary concert! This is easily one of my favorite songs
awesome!
Awesome!
Amazing
Love it
This is so old Styx! I LOVE IT!
The RING..........STYX
hope this is on the playlist when I see them in October
I hope so. They played it at our show on Father’s Day and it rocked!
It will be have a great time this band still rocks
I think they've consistently played it so far in this tour
Ни с чем не спутаешь фирменный стиль STYX. Супер!
Great music, fantastic band and nice video !
love your guy’s new album! one of my favorite songs from it ❤️
nice and very Beatles sounding with the Styx sauce!
Very cool!
I like this music, very uplifting. How much single eye symbolism (Right Eye of Horus, Ra) can fit into one video? "You're giving it up, giving it out." Generating and producing energy from your brain and body. Using social media and A.I. As usual, Styx likes to question the current state of society. It's always good for us to reflect on what we're doing.
Great album
Never enough STYX!
❤❤❤
RMS MUSIC SOCIETY BEST SONGS OF 2021!
Dig it
Cool video. Love all the colors and graphics...
I should have known you would beat me here sweetheart 🌹
@@TK-sm5jt ~ You know it...😁
@@Deborahtunes Yes sweetheart you beat me every time. 😅 🌹
Muito bom!
and so I says to him, I thought Dennis's new videos were weird
👌
This album was not an easy for listen for me but after about 5 soins I started liking. It more and more great creativity harmonies rockers songs sound like who yes pink Floyd queen I would say only equinox illusion and pieces are better if songs longer could have been as good as those even
Hi🌷bye😍
If you compare the two albums of Dennis de Young and Styx you will find it a pity that the two parties havent found a common way to go on tour together or even to produce a joint album. There would be more than enough song pearls on both albums and by listen to both you don't understand which party is afraid of whose dominance. Too bad Styx ! Dennis de Young's new songs with a touch more commercial songcomposing would have done good to the new Styx Album wich also scores with very good songs.
It's like asking our divorced parents to come together to create something together for the sake of us kids.
100%. They don't realize that they are a better band as a unit, together (TS, JY and DdY), writing songs and bouncing things off each other. It's a shame really and I'm not blaming anyone specifically, I don't care who's fault it was.
Completely wish many of my favorite bands could just keep giving us more magic, but alas that is not life. That being said, I'm with STYX in this divorce!! (DdY isn't awful, just sounds like too much is missing) I'm also of the mind that Lawrence Gowan is just a perfect alternate universe replacement for DdY, with talent dripping out all over the place. STYX has found ALL the magic of their glory days in these last two albums and I'm loving every minute of it!
Awesome album but who gave the video editor LSD?
Why does this make me think of Bojack Horseman?
Sounds like a harder Beattles tune.
Can we talk about that fiverr quality video or?...
I don't like it. We all change. That being said, I wish you health and happiness. No ill will, so rock on, brother.
Dennis who?????
Don't get me wrong deyoung had his place; the Pinnazo bros had the health problems ( rip) but Dennis had the ego problem and it ruined the band......
@@williamriley9904 It's most unfortunate. If Dennis DeYoung remained the same (musically speaking) as he did during the Pieces of Eight/Grand Illusion era, Styx probably wouldn't have dropped him. Hell, the band probably would never have broken up in the first place. As it is, Styx is thankfully back in their element with Gowan.
@@williamriley9904 Wrong.
Styx is not Styx without Dennis DeYoung, they should have just stayed together and remained legendary but now they're just not.
Totally agree. After listening to this song I put rocking the paradise to remember the best of Styx.
cool but lyric videos are the freakin worst
Yikes!! No!!
This album just simply sucks. Some bands just don't got it anymore, and Sytx is surely one of them. Sad day, but don't waste your time listening to this trash album.
Kinda like Green Day, Radiohead, Coldplay, and Nirvana? You're probably a Rush critic too. Styx has been around since the early '70s and they're still killing it. Get over it.
@@brentcook2261 Them two are dennis Deyuck lovers, what else would we expect from the two trolls. They can go back and listen to his trash 🗑
STYX isn't STYX anymore. This is some other band that carries a name that doesn't live up to what they were when Dennis DeYoung was in the band. This song is some lame attempt to capture or recapture what once was when Dennis was in the band. and really, without the originals...the originality is gone. RIP Styx
Omg this is awesome!!! I love it already! I've loved Styx ever since I was a kid. I am so happy that you are still actively giving your beautiful music to us.

@@tommyrolandshaw47 Thank you Mr. Shaw. I just did what you requested.
