When I think of Lead Sled, I think of Grandma's 78' Buick. You could drive it through the brick wall of a bank, back out, and drive off.... without any damage! 😂
I know a little about the led sleds I bought one when they came out 30 years ago or so and have used one because a drunk driver took my head off almost completely and a 7 hour surgery and lots of titanium I am able to still hunt but recoil could be fatal if it damages my spine enough so I have to be careful! Led sleds work great if you use them how they were meant to be used and not a cure all for recoil!
Great videos Who Tee, always love them. How about a 50 Beowulf, 458 Socom, 450 Bushmaster, 350 Legend clay block comparison video! Battle of the big boys! All using Hollow-points. Keep up the good work brother.
My Led Sled has a bent tube that runs front to back. This was made this way for firearms with dangly bits that hit the straight bar the one you have. Your other one has two tubes a few inches apart for this. Both of yours have upgraded parts to improve performance over mine. I like how they can absorb the recoil. Even more so if add weight to the tray. I find it uncomfortable to use. I soot better with bags. I'm a bit vertically challenged, 5'6", so the extra reach the rest adds to firearm is what I find uncomfortable. To each their own on this. The Led Sled isn't that expensive, so testing which works better for you. On firearms with low recoil either works well. On heavy recoil firearms the Led Sled may be a good choice. I like having both options. One difference between yours and mine is the elevation adjustment. Mine has both the rear and front rests mounted on the tube. This tube pivots on the base to adjust elevation where yours have the big screw that moves just the front rest. Mine has an adjustment between the two rests that is used so the butt of the firearm can set flat on the rear upright part of the rest. This way when it fires the recoil is spread over the whole butt, not on top or bottom of the butt. This helps prevent damage to these areas of the stock. Especially the bottom of the stock where there is less material to absorb the recoil.
Sweet I've never used one of those believe it or not but I'd love to try one and I've always used bags off of the bench but it's always good try new things and see if you're more comfortable or more solid there's lots of different ways to shoot but I'mma definitely have to try one of these 😊😊
I have the old lead sled I love take a lot of variables out. I’m getting old and used a bypod and bags the other day I sucked you can us that sled with an AR just put a block in the slot for the butt stock to raise it up to pass the pistol grip and use a 5/10 rd mag
Really like my Sled II , shooting AR's a lot it comes in handy with the dual lower rails with split for longer magazines to fit. Great product. Congratz.
Sled is a country boy rail gun if you've never seen a rail gun it's just a barrel and action mounted on a metal block with wheels sit on a track with springs for recoil even the triggers are set at 2oz not 2lbs that's 2oz it takes almost all human error out just wondering if anyone has seen these before 👍👍
That sounds like unlimited class of shooting competition. No limits on a lot of things that would normally be restricted such as weight of the gun, scope magnification, barrel length, etc. At least that’s what I think it was from reading about it many years ago.
Brother, did you cut your arm with that mean blade you were advertising? I love that lineman's band aid! We used paper towel & electrical tape when we were out of band aids. Lol
What it's really hard on that most don't realize, is the bedding in the stock. Think of putting your butt pad against a brick wall and shooting the rifle. With a hard recoiling rifle, you can break the stock or ruin the bedding. Something has to give. Without weight on the sled, you probably aren't hurting anything. Put a lot of weight on it and I'd say, you are for sure doing the rifle harm. Nice test, but the Lead Sled is not your rifles friend when using it with a lot of weight.
# WHO_TEE_WHO still my favorite guntuber. Do you shoot bows? If so i would love to see you do a how to sight one in and shooting tips for beginners. Love your videos. Stay safe God Bless from Oklahoma.
Hi I love your videos. I have the same lead sled. I’ve noticed the rifles are wobbly setting in it. After you take a shot it moves the slead. Then once you get it aligned and try to adjust the crosshairs it’s a pain because the rifle doesn’t lock in place and is unsteady. Was wondering how you keep the rifle from moving when dialing in the scope?
Just hold it still w one hand and dial w other. Usually doesn't matter too much bcuz I am dialing based off distance to the hit so I know how many clicks
I have a lead sled which I have not yet used and did some research on in shooting forums. It seems that when using high recoiling firearms, sleds are sometimes responsible for broken stocks and scopes because the gun does not move freely during recoil like it does on one's shoulder. Also, the point of impact on targets is not the same as just resting the gun on a bipod or sand bags. Have you encountered any problems with your firearms when using sleds?
Last weekend, I used my shooting rest and bag. I left on the table to check my target. The rifle fell on a new scope. It knocked my scope off really bad. It was almost sighted in. Now it's not hitting the target.
@WHOTEEWHO I had scope on a Remington 870 shooting 3 inch magnum slugs. The recoil was brutal but never knocked the scope off. I had that zero at a 100 yards.
I bought the same Lead sled like you have there I herd some story’s that they are hard on the rifles shot in them have you ever had scope screws sheared using the sled or cracked a stock?
Lets design a portable system that holds the firearm in a viselike fixture and is controlled by some sort of mechanical system that is operated by a separate joystick controller so that the human equation is totally disconnected. It can have a small camera that looks through your scope or sights down your irons and displays the image on a small screen on the controller. We can even mount it on wheels or tracks so that we can send it out like a drone so that we can deer hunt from the comfort of our recliner in our living room at home. This new machine will give us the best accuracy and do so while giving us the best comfort also. Why go out into the elements to shoot or hunt when you can do it with more precision, efficiency, and comfort? I can fully appreciate the advancements of modern day equipment to help us to perform better, but sometimes I feel that we are losing perspective in the overall picture, but then what do I know, I'm just a decrepit old dinosaur who has fallen behind the times. Nothing wrong with useing whatever is available to advance your skills, and the point is to do better and do what makes you happy. Good luck to everyone in achieving their goals.
Mines a Caldwell plastic it works great but the cradle Levi blowed a hole in it with the Savage Axis 308 Nosler Ballistic Tip 125gr the rubber part of it hit in the yard in front of it lolllllllllllllllll I’ve got two more rests
Well well well. I get no credit. Figures. ALTHOUGH . . . this one is not as good as your other newer one. Which one did I buy for you? 🤣 At least that old piece of junk you were using is gone. { For the lurkers: these things are fine for zeroing your scope and testing ammo, and that's it. Practice like you fight. reed scott
Thanks for reviewing this. It takes a lot of guess work out for those of us who have to special order everything.

Thanks for watching
I have the Lead Sled Solo and absolutely love it. Caldwell makes great products.
Totally agree!

My only concern is the added length of pull. I'm 99% sure I want one, but I'd sure like to try one before investing.
Great stuff! 👍 😊

The dual rail is also critical for lever action rifles.
I need one of these. Thanks for sharing

These lead sleds are a must have..
I agree
Brother, did you cut your arm with that mean blade you were advertising? I love that lineman's band aid! We used paper towel & electrical tape when we were out of band aids. Lol
Bandaid wouldn't stick so I wrapped it up
I hear ya! I've been there too
Thats what real men use! What ever is within arms reach!
Pretty cool dude I'm going to put it on my to buy list great job dude
I hear the garage door going up, hurry and get off the furniture with the sled and tools.

I use a Caldwell lead sled but mine is different from all of yours. Can’t remember the model but it’s really nice.
I believe that the addition of the shoosher machine adds to accuracy by addressing the harmonic balance of the barrel 😎👍🏼
I have 2 led sleds and love them
Thank you and subscribed!!!😊

I have this same sled but would like to have the other sled I seen in the your previous video just for long mags.

That is all bad information. I've never had any problems
Another nice new Lead Sled, congrats.
Have you ever looked at the Hyskore DLX with remote trigger?
Never heard of that yet

Yikes
@WHOTEEWHO A Bushnell Banner 2 scopes. Seems like the scope gets knocked in the woods or driving to range or hunting it would be shock proof.

They are not hard on rifles, scopes, anything. It has been proven
@@WHOTEEWHO cool I been wanting to try the one I got and see how it would be easier when shooting large caliber’s and higher volume of shooting
👍👍
Hey dragonrider
Hey wtw nation,, Good evening to all..!
Hey there!
Iv tried sleds, to many knobs and takes to long and shoot i cant never get it right so just a sand bag for me

Hmmm...I have it all assembled but when I turn that wheel the rod does not go up and down
Hmm. Hard to say without seeing it
Never saw a gun with a bolt nob quite like that before.

Is the Lead sled 3 a lot better than the first one?
👍👍
Mines a Caldwell plastic it works great but the cradle Levi blowed a hole in it with the Savage Axis 308 Nosler Ballistic Tip 125gr the rubber part of it hit in the yard in front of it lolllllllllllllllll I’ve got two more rests

😆😆😆 indeed. You bought the Stinger rest if my memory is correct now.
W.T.W., In my humble opinion grouping don't count if you can't do it the way you shot while you are hunting, just saying.🇺🇲🦝
Ditto I don’t hunt w/rifle in lead sled! But I’m not knocking them😊
