I have one of these, one of the best purchases I've ever made. It helps me get my stuff soooo dialed in perfectly. Then when shooting freehand, if I make a bad shot, I know it's me, not the rifle.
Thanks I just purchased this and I was concerned about the quality and the ease of installation of this sled but you cleared that up for me. I appreciate you taking the time out to make this very informative video!!! Merry Christmas!!!
Right on WTW! I am glad you got a nice upgrade for yourself. Now you have to reshoot all the rifles you’ve shot over the years so you can see how much this DFT will shrink the groups! 🤣👍🏻
Caldwell makes good stuff, from my experience. A Caldwell brass catcher for that semi-auto bing-bang makes it easier to corral the empties at the range. Unless you can find a brass magnet on a long handle, which nobody makes!
WTW, best part of the video is your enthusism. I'm like a kid at Xmas when I get new "toys". It's a good part of life. Enjoy the sled. I've had one for several years and I weigh mine down with 20lbs of shot in bags designed for the purpose. Works great. But it's a lot to load in and out of range. So I plan to be there for awhile when using it. Have fun. Looking forward to some more, 'really fun videos'.
I would like to get one of these for my normal deer rifles. I have the old cast iron BR Rock and Bumble Bee back rest for my target gun. Dont forget to put the thrust washer back under the wheel.
Yeah this is nice!!!! Love the stinger, but realized that didn’t have the shoulder pad to help when shooting those bigger calibers! I ordered the stinger and really love to use that with the AR, but anything more than a .308 can get punishing on the shoulder! Another great video. Caldwell come out with some high quality products!!!
Thank you. I did not understand the directions for the last part about how to attach the gun rest with the bolts. It was not clear to me that the plate needed to be removed. Edit: that big turning wheel was in the way. It took me awhile to figure out that you had to slide it all the way to the left and then all the way to the right to have clearance. The other issue for people to be aware of is that if you turn it upside down the whole rest that holds the gun will fall out. There's a little wedge that's easy to lose if you don't Assemble indoors. Even at the range, be careful turning upside down.
Man... great video. i just bought one today and was a little sketched about spending the money, but feel good now!!! Are you still liking it a year later!!? Have a great one!
This is a much more heavy duty and adjustable model, but the Caldwell Stinger is great for sighting in AR rifles with standard capacity (30 rounds) magazines.
Very nice WTW 😊. There's one rest I've seen that has some sort of quick adjust joystick arm on it . May be a Caldwell fcx. Let's you adjust windage and elevation real easy. Check it out. What's the front rest made out of? Is it hard or soft . If hard I would lay some sort of non marring cloth over it for wooden stock rifles, especially glossy ones like your vanguards you have. I would also put a little bearing grease on the bearings just to slow down wear. 👍 Thanks for the video. Have a great weekend 😊
I have been debating getting a lead sled for a while. Would make my accuracy testing tighter, but I usually like testing myself and my gun for practical accuracy as I would be in a real situation. Though I do want a lead sled at some point… be cool to see how accurate I can get my guns
That is not that old l o l. I still have the one that has a little tiny bag in the front. And on the back end squeezes against the butt stock.. Not the most efficient thing l o l. But I would have to say you are one of my favorites Eric cortina And peat From South Africa. I am ranked number 4 here in the United States. In the state of maine. But I pulled 2 shots lost by 4 points. But you know how that competition stuff goes, my brother.. Super big fan of your stuff.
Dang WTW now imma have to go spend some money on a new one….. one i have i’ve had for like 15yr and love it but with the dual bars i can use it even more lol
You should autograph the bottom of your old one and do a raffle lot of history with it I've seen lots of guns be shot on it and I've learned a ton from watching you shoot off it ,just a idea thanks for posting
You know I'm here to critique you as usual. At the end of the video your ball bearing ring was not installed 😮 Wouldn't the adjustment ring be smoother if you installed it? Or did I miss something?
what type of rest would you guys suggest to use for taking back and forth to a public range with wooden tables of you want to be able to sight in your rifles as precisely as possible
@@redtobertshateshandles i dont know anybody with one, but i was considering maybe going with a front rest and rear bag. i know they make one that is like the front of the one in the video pretty much
Well I guess I shoot more I’ve got one of the original lead sleds I’ve wore out the rubber feet on mine the bags made out of leather to hold the rifle started leaking the material out of it used duct tape to stop that whew long way to go 😅 started shootin way before interweb was invented
One question the way it's setup how do you raise the clips and turn them to adjust the length for shorter guns because it looks like the wheel that adjust the highth is in the way
Check out the Caldwell Lead Sled DFT 2 here: bit.ly/3qaEwGS

Gotta love the lead sled. Makes sighting in a breeze.

Right on hootie. I can't wait to see you using it. You needed that man. I'm happy for you. 😁
I like that new lead sled. Probably get me one. Thank you for sharing.😊
I hope that's a spare ball bearing ring on the weight tray.
Have fun with your new toy!
Nope. I put it back in tho 😆.

That's a gorgeous new sled WTW. I just picked up a Caldwell also.....haven't used it yet. Take care and enjoy!!!
You’re a bing bang booh lay lead sled engineer….looking forward to test run..
I've been shooting my DFT2 for a while now and I'm a big fan. Perfect for my AR builds. Thanks for your video!
Sorry i missed your live. But i did watch it and the new led sled. And gave 👍👍 thumbs up.

Great addition to the range equipment! Thanks for the video WTW.
That's a very nice upgrade that definitely will be handy. Until I saw this I hadn't given much thought to how long the leadsled been around.
Congrats brother !!! Going to be able to add a heck of a lot more reviews now!!

WTH that’s better than reading the directions. Thanks
really appreciate the video. Thanks for sharing your time with us.. Just bought one and anxious to assemble and use it

Merry Christmas WTW!!!!! I am re-watching this and then putting mine together after!!!!!
I put together as i was watching the vid!!! Thank you!!! Worked great!!!! Can't wait to test some Bing bangs and sling some boolots!!!!!!!!!!
Very nice looking rig! Great video WTW!!

Front rest is soft rubber
nice....give you 20.00 for the old one...hunting place range Caldwell is done bout done with life...;lol bet the new one works like a charm...
That looks like a great shooting rest! I already got the little stinger. Guess will probably use it for awhile.
Congratulations on the 500k subs, buddy. I've been here since day one. It's been awesome getting to watch the channel grow. Great job, brother. 👏 👏 👏
Thanks a ton!
Just got mine today for Fathers Day. I can't wait for the range day. Thanks for the video. Now I dont have to read the darn instructions.
Awesome!!!
Got the same one last year. Very nice rest.
Very nice!
Yep..I’ve thought about THAT one for a LONG time. Got several..really can’t justify it honestly.
I found it easier to use a 13mm socket and ratcheting wrench for the trey area. Hope this helps someone!
I'll go for the BOG DeathGrip Tripod. Way more versatile. Half the cost...I can still feed my kids.
RockOn.StayFree.
Bog is great too
Thanks for sharing another great review 👍
Thanks for watching!
Nice addition to the channel
I have one of those. It works pretty good. I think you'll enjoy it!
Now you need the shooting bench i built , sorry i can't ship it to ya .
Pretty cool tool!
The sled is ok for some things . But I like to use a front and rear bag .
Hit 500k Congratulations man!
🙏🙏🙏
Your bearing was laying on top of the sled base plate. Think you might want to put it back in the mechanism!
Yup. Did after the video.
@@WHOTEEWHO good mechanics always have left over parts 😀
Go out and buy a 25 pound barbell weight to put on that sled ! It will greatly improve your shooting
Nice addition, I have an older style to use when I’m checking one out to see if it’s Dailed in !!!
Congrats Who Tee I know that lead sled will get put to good use

i DEFINITELY need to get me one!! 😁
Be interesting to see how it matches up against the stinger
Very cool, WTW! Love your enthusiasm! What are you doing with the old lead sled? How about donating it to a subscriber? 😉

You know I'm here to critique you as usual.
At the end of the video your ball bearing ring was not installed 😮
Wouldn't the adjustment ring be smoother if you installed it?
Or did I miss something?
I took it completely apart mid-filming so I would know how it all works. Forgot to put bearing in. I put it back in after filming.
Don’t know if it’s the CMMG or the sled, but that combo looks sick! And just for me, I would paint the sled fully black.
It looks ill because it's green?
That's super exciting! 👌
Just ordered one on Midway
Nice
I see many same holes in the future!
Smaller groups, for sure! 👍🏼
Awesome.but I think your bearing fell out. Can see it on the tray under the rails.
Didn't fall out I took it all apart just so I knew how it all worked, then forgot to put the bearing back in. I noticed and put it back in afterward
I bought the cheapest one. It actually works well. Surprisingly.
what type of rest would you guys suggest to use for taking back and forth to a public range with wooden tables of you want to be able to sight in your rifles as precisely as possible
This would work. Or stinger rest
I bought the very cheapest model which actually works OK. But buy what you can afford. Can you borrow one ??
@@redtobertshateshandles i dont know anybody with one, but i was considering maybe going with a front rest and rear bag. i know they make one that is like the front of the one in the video pretty much
Congratson the 500K. Nice lead sled.Might getonemyself.
🙏🙏🙏
Now I need to price one.
I have one and it’s super
Awesome 👍
Nice sewing room… Is there something you want to confess? Another youtube channel possibly?!
Kids room
Sure it is 😂😂
Someone's always gotta take a joke too far.
That's a better looking sled than the first one I'm going to have to get me a new sled
Reading the instruction manual? Well that puts you light years ahead of the most everybody else on the planet lol😂
😆😆😆
That's nice piede
Looks like I may have to buy one
Sweet! 👊👍
I was going to guess you had a doppler chronograph
Very nice 👌
They could have put a hole in the Center of the rest to bolt it and the plate after it’s all put together instead of trying to get underneath it .
I was hoping you got a hunting dog
I like it 👍👍
Well I guess I shoot more I’ve got one of the original lead sleds I’ve wore out the rubber feet on mine the bags made out of leather to hold the rifle started leaking the material out of it used duct tape to stop that whew long way to go 😅 started shootin way before interweb was invented
Cool sled dude
Wasn't you using that exact same lead sled in a video a long time ago with the Winchester 6.5 creedmore
No
Sweet!
You need about 25 lb in the sled to stabilize it .
Sweet thats very nice
Why do you need a lead sled?
Alright!
👍👍👍👍👍
Nice!!
50% of the way to a million!
💯💯💯
👍👍
That knife is so thin it only has one side. Keep cracking out the videos good sir 🇺🇸
I like seeing normal sinle things still make some people happy. 😎
One question the way it's setup how do you raise the clips and turn them to adjust the length for shorter guns because it looks like the wheel that adjust the highth is in the way
Just lift the clips up, slide thr front rest, then lock them back down
@@WHOTEEWHO it might be just the angle we had but it looks like the adjuster for the highth would block you from doing that
Hello .. your opinion on the 6.5 creedmoor in the American Ruger

Hey! You forgot to put in the bearing.
I put it back in afterwards
