Very well done, Roy! Nice to spend time with you in your shop, and thanks for the permission to not overthink a project and just get'er done.
Thanks Joel. I think too many people tend to think, ponder and worry, rather than just doing something! Roy
Love the idea I’d call it the “short and sweet” just like saying a prayer before we eat!!🙏🤙 from The Big island of Hawaii
Hey Cowboy, do you get much shooting in there? Roy
That’s a neat little rest Roy, simple but very effective! Really enjoy all your videos whether it’s a review or a fun little project, keep ‘em coming!
Hi Jeff! thanks for your kind comment. If you have any ideas as to what you’d like me to make, sing out. Always looking for a new project! Roy
I wish you had made this years ago. I'm so tired of leaning my guns against the workbench when I clean them. I already have the scrap laying around in my garage. In 10 minutes I'll be done. Thanks Roy!
You bet. I find I just keep one handy and it seems there’s always a gun in it! Roy
Nice!! Love your shop ideas. Love the pups too 🤠🐾
Thanks sir! The dogs supervise me when I’m in the shop. My wife doesn’t trust me to be alone, unsupervised … Roy
I love this 😊 doesn't need to be fancy, it gets the job done! Super simple , thanks heaps
Simple is always good! Thanks for your post! Roy
Pardon my french DAMM nice and simple i love it and i am going straight too my work shop
Get ‘er done! Send a pic to editor@gunsmagazine.com! Roy
Thank you I am going to make one.
Outstanding Doug. Check out the simple handgun rest too in another video.
Excellent idea
That looks like a smart idea.. Liked your imaginarium as well. 👍
My God, this video was so helpful,, thank you so so much 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Glad to help. Something like this is awfully handy! Roy
Grandpa’s gun chair. Just came across your content two big 👍👍
🐾 The Cassie special! 🐾 Nice for bore sighting too.
Love the name. Bore sighting is spot on too. I use one for that all the time. Roy
Roy's rifle fixture!
Nice project it looks to be just as effective as my polymer MTM rest.
As to the Renchero …. Were you as disappointed in Ford as I was when they put the Maverick moniker on their new mini-pickup instead of going back with Ranchero? I always liked the early Rancheros they were neat compact trucks. Later when based on the Torino they got to be a bit huge. 6ft hood and 6ft bed with a bench seat in the middle😮.
What you have is a nice little truck!
Hi Randall, I know what you mean about the Maverick. Huh? What? It’s like S&W calling their auto pistol (the .22 they introduced a few years ago) the Victory Model. Yikes …. I just drove the Ranchero yesterday, AC going full blast here! Roy
Roy’s best rest 😂🇨🇦👍🏻
That’s what I need to do …. Rest! Thanks for posting sir! Roy
The Roy Rifle Rest!
Okay, that’s funny. The Triple R Rest …. Roy
Roy's radical rifle rest
Or Roy’s Unradical Rifle Rest ….? Roy
love the video. 1964 Ford Thunderbird convertible.
Good man, Loyd! Roy
Great looking truck,,,,love the color,,,, Rack need one option, a cup rack,,,,,cheap clamps at Harbor Freight will work great…..I enjoy these projects …. I use two handle wooden wood clamps to work on my handguns,,,very stable when adding a rail or red dot….. Thanks for sharing
Ha! Great idea on the cup holder. That’s fancy. Agree any cheap wood clamp would work fine. This is almost a “no cost” rack. Roy
@@fmgpubs Jorgensen, wood clamp are the best to work on a handgun…just set it on the bench , solid as a rock…
Thank you!
Thank you Alex! Roy
I just made one less than an half hour to complete, thank you .
Outstanding Dave! Roy
Hey Roy,
Greetings from DownUnder 🇦🇺 🙃
This was very 'KISS' .......... Keep It Simple Stupid, Excellent Work!
If I may offer up a name for your Creation, Roy's Ezy Kiss Rest! 😁
Also a good old fashioned Bar of Soap will act as a Great Lubricant for any Wood Screws. 😜
So I totally used your idea I vinyl covered the gun rests and I applied foam to the underside so as to not scuff my table probably should have made the rests closer would love to send a picture to ya not sure how
Send me a picture to editor@gunsmagazine.com and put it to my attention. I’ll get it. Would love to see it. Roy
❤
Thanks Paul! Roy
Roy's Rest.
See that name makes me tired now. I think I’ll go sit … and rest. Roy
Top Idee 👍🇦🇹
That turned out surprisingly well.
With a shop like that…I might be tempted to make my wife mad on purpose, just so I could head to the shop.
I confess I sometimes get lost at the shop … then I get a text around dinner: “Are you coming home?” Sometimes I have to think hard before I answer … Roy
Strong enough for zeroing an underlever break barrel? Thanks.
Not really made for zeroing, although you could use the front bit as a rifle rest, but the rear piece would be in the way. This is just to hold the gun to clean it and work on it. Roy
@@fmgpubs Thanks for the advice.
Maybe "Roy's Tactical Tabletop Rest For Seniors". Everythings better if its Tactical!! 😂
I know what you mean. I know have tactical reading glasses, a tactical pill holder and tactical suspenders … I do miss the old days when you “did” things tactical rather than buy them … Roy
Just out of curiosity, why do you have a $2000.00 bandsaw behind you and you're using a scrollsaw?
Trying to keep it simple Jeff. Not everyone has a $2,000 bandsaw! If I'm making things for myself, I confess I do take advantage of my "big" tools! Roy
Instead of wax gasket you can also use bar soap (borrowed from a hotel) or any candle the wife tries to burn in the house. Bonus with the candle is that your gun vise smells like Holiday Gingerbread Pumpkin Spice.
Okay, that’s funny! A pumpkin spice rifle rest …. Just what the world needs, eh?! Roy
How about a rifleclamperupper. Lol nice job
An “RCU” Device! Roy
Oo- ah 1982 delta 88 royal.🦍
I haven’t seen an 80s Delta 88 in a long time … Roy
@@fmgpubs I see it every day.
Great idea, been thinking of making one for a few weeks.
Thanks Roy ❤
Go for it Dave. Cheap and easy! Roy
Do you have an extra pencil I can borrow 😉
It's a. rr roy's rest
Not very versatile, but ok.
It’s actually sort of amazing what you can do with it. It fits anything and it’s easy to mout them right side up or inverted, etc. Plus it puts a rest within range of people who don’t have the money to spend on a fancy, store-bought one. Roy
Would be nice if you would show what your talking about instead of every thing but
First complaint I’ve had Gale. What didn’t you see and perhaps I can explain it? Roy
How difficult is it to see 2 pieces of wood nailed to a baseboard, with the front one having a v cut for the barrel and the back one is c clamped to the stock gale? Do you need to be taught how to make this yourself? If you need an instruction manual for something this simple you don’t have any business handling firearms.
@@vr6g608 I appreciate the back-up. I was trying to be nice though. Like you say, once you see it, just knock one together! Roy
