EXCELLENT! It will lay just inside my other rest that I built from your older vid (the day after you posted it up). Hey, also that bean bag made out of old pants legs would do for adjusting your hand. That's the only time I ever bought a 20# bag of beans at the grocery store!! I don't have nearly the shop nor the skill you do, but even I can handle this. I still have some of the shiny gold paint leftover so my rests will be color coordinated (it's very important at my age to look STYLISH!!! Thanks Roy
Good deal. Efficient inexpensive & short time to make. Plus you can stain it & maybe put a little felt or material in the V to protect against maring. Maybe a nice cherry stain? 👍 Thanks!!
Indeed, Bill. You can fancy-it up as much or as little as you like. I’m going to make a half dozen for friends of mine. People always like a hand made gift like that! Roy
With maybe a nice brass name plate? For me a fancy name plate is an index card written with Sharpie & attached with Elmers glue. 😂 Take care & Thanks for good ideas. 👍 🙏
@@Bill-jv5eg I know what you mean. I watched a guy using a concrete block for a handgun rest one time. No padding, nothing … he was just resting the barrel on the concrete. Yikes! Roy
Gosh, a good black coating would look smashing. I’ve used auto paint to paint wood and if you prime it well, the results can be excellent. Think a car paint job but on wood! Roy
I like your idea of copying the Ransom that you can raise and lower the front . they are out of there minds to ask so much just because it's aluminum and made in USA. I can't believe someone has not made a copy out of wood and showed it on you tube. I am going to make one it's a great design and would not be that hard to build.
Roy - How many clamps does a man need reminded me of the Potterfielde when you see the wife’s shoes when she asks Larry “ Just how many guns does one man need?” Probably about as many Shoes as one woman need. !!!👍
The neat things that come out of your shop and your mind. Good idea.
Thanks, as always Earl, for your kind words! Roy
Always good stuff Roy! 🤠

Stylish is always critical, Roy! The bean bag chair is a natural for this. Good idea. Roy
Excellent, thanks for idea!
You’re welcome MM. Now go build one! Roy
I did! And the target stand too!
Added some foam padding and rubber matting too! Oh yeah filled some dry bags with cracked corn for rests!@@fmgpubs
Outstanding. It’s always so damn satisfying to get something done in the shop. Roy@@MMOverlandAdventures

@@billdye3530 I have one of those wood burner things with my shop name and logo. Works great. But the business card is definitely classy! Roy
Great idea,,,,,simply rest, it works!
I didn’t realize how simple it could be until I started to do it. Then all the clutter and complication I had in my mind initially got tossed out! Roy
@@fmgpubs sometimes basic is best……I watch some guys at the range with their setups and shake my head….

@@fmgpubs ya, you just can’t make this stuff up…..😳😳
Pretty easy unless it was a gift. Then I'd feel compelled to line it with felt or velour. Or maybe put on 2-3 coats of black enamel paint.

Boy howdy! I confess I still buy clamps. I just used 21 yesterday on one project! Roy
