- Today on The Garage Engineer, we build a clam shell display box with viewing window out of walnut. And add lighting to the interior to highlight my grandfather’s Hi-Standard Model “E” pistol. It was manufactured in the late 1938 to early 1939 and shipped from the factory in 1939.

Very cool project👌
I like that, great job sir.
Thank you. This was a fun project to make. 🙌🙌
Nice
My husband is building a display case for his naval dueling pistols & flask out of walnut...to keep the weight down I suggested using a foam backing to lay the guns and flask in instead of cutting out press board. Would you mind sharing a good resource for 5/8" foam? Please & thanks for your time. Cathy in Michigan :-)
Good backing to use would be Fast Kap Kaisan foam. THanks for watching.
Great! Thank you so much and thanks for sharing your project
That is beautiful very nicely well-done professional how much do you charge for one of these boxes
$500 to $800 depending on clients needs
Tasty , Love the lights. The craftmanship is out of this world. When the world was sane, you could have your son make one of these at home-take it to school and would have been as a celebrated pice of art work. Today=A shrink, pills a bunch of pissed off bitches and the state taking away your talented children.-Noshit. This is true.-Shawn.
Do you build these gun cases for other people and if so how much
No this was a fun concept project. Thanks for watching.
I also make my own presentation boxes but I make them a lot easier not as good as you and I sell them on eBay
I appreciate the compliment. Thanks for watching
