Dear Jan: as a teacher, quilter, and relative of Harriet Beecher Stowe, I really appreciate your lecture on this historical topic! I bet you are anticipating the release of the Harriet Tubman Underground RailRoad movie, as I am, in November 2019. Thank you for all your research and education! Take care.

Based on my own research I'd like to suggest that the information presented here is more story than truth. I too was a teacher and I agree with you on how hard it is to find information especially when your time is so limited while teaching. Perhaps it would be helpful to present your information as your theories based on specified texts. I am familiar with the children's books presented. They are all well written STORIES.

These stories have been thoroughly discredited, in my opinion, by the African American historical community. Historian Giles R. Wright has a good article refuting the book In Plain View, on the topic of UGRR quilts, if you have not seen it. RUclips isn't allowing me to post a link in these comments.
