As a dual American & Panamanian citizen, and also having spent most of my adult life in SE Asia, mostly in Thailand, my appreciation for Chris’s achievement in honoring Panamanian History through his vision creating Hotel la Compañía is immeasurable. The Hotel la Compañía is so much more than an important historical restoration, it’s an avenue through which we can honor our past, while looking forward through architecture, design, and hospitality. In 2009, Panama chose me as well on my very first visit here; not as a tourist but to find an extra income after "All Things [Fell] Apart" for me in the US. I immediately started a business in the hospitality industry which was my background. I traveled back and forth until 2012 when I realized that I was happy here but not back "home" in Florida. I could not stay away any longer. Since then, I have watched Casco Viejo come back to life from the same streets you found when you arrived to what she is today...a true gem with a history and a spirit that you can feel while walking those streets. Thank you and others who have been a part of bringing her back to life. Now, I hope and pray that someone with a similar spirit and vision will do the same for Colon. She deserves the same.

Seeing all your Facebook updates over the last several years finally come together in this way is extraordinary. You've crafted a masterpiece, overcoming one of the most significant challenges of your life with such grace and determination.
