I had the Whistler solar backup camera that I purchased from Walmart approximately 4 years ago and it recently stopped working. Instead of replacing with the same brand, I purchased the Audio Vox reverse solar camera instead and I like the picture quality very much and the push button feature on the DC adapter very much as well.
What a fiddlefaff to get the screen to turn upside down. Evertime I tried it just kept defaulting to the rightway up even though it was v easy to change the contrast and brightness. Anyway, done now. Thanks for the video. It just took LOTS of perseverance. Not sure it was totally my fault. Think the buttons were just too sensitive and it seemed keen just to get back to showing me upsidedown grid line ;)
no no, its not connected to the reverse lights, there is a timer on it, and u=you can hit the button on the plug that tuns on the screen. so you can have it on any time you wish
How easy is that adhesive strip to remove? Want to get this for my work van, but currently using a rental and don’t want to purchase if I can’t remove and put it on a different vehicle in the future

@@sameers2699 I cover my screen up in the strong sunlight,I enclose it in a white microfibre cloth completely,Then take it off at night,Otherwise the screen casing gets very warm,The camera on the number plate is fine in direct strong sun.
How long does the solar camera hold the charge? Have you ever had an instance where you needed to remove the solar camera and charge it with USB cable? how much lag between the solar camera and display while driving does it impact real time accuracy? Is there a way to get rid of the autovox logo displayed on startup?

I have a Volkswagen beetle 2015 and for where my license plate is mounted there’s almost no room above the plate so my question is does this device fit on top of the plate all the way down and not protrude above the plate? If it does protrude above the plate, how much in inches? Thank you I would like to buy this, but if it’s not gonna fit, then I would be wasting my money and I am terrible with returning things. I might need to get one of these. My Fiat 500e doesn't have a backup camera but I'd love to have one, sadly it's not my car (it's on a Motability lease) so I'm not allowed to make permanent modifications to it (including drilling)
Not sure I would ever mount one of these as shown on a UK number plate because it partially obscures it and that is an instant invite for Police/DVSA to invite you for a vehicle check.

If you have a Van with twin rear doors , and your number plate is fixed to one door ,thus the numberplate is offset ! is there a facility on the camera to view the rear image in a centralised manner (can you shift the viewing angle to compensate for an offset mounting position )? Désolé, je ne recommande pas ce produit trop visible au niveau de la plaque qui ne détecte pas les côtés les lignes jaunes et rouge pas précise du tout quand vous stationné aucun bip sonore l'image est bonne, mais pour moi l'achat est presque inutile seul avantage détecte l'angle mort à l'avant du véhicule surtout en montée.

the inside screen has suction yes

So when it’s on and you start to back up will the screen light up and it’s ready to go? Or do you have turn it on every time ?

I got one Paul,Fitted to the front top number plate,I tightened the hex screw slightly,It still feels wobbly once on the number plate,but seems ok.
as long as it dose not fall off does it work well
