    Pretty amazing. When Bobby said that he is using a Ford 289 block does that mean it’s a stock block with a two bolt mains? Were any strengthening modifications done to the block like a stud girdle and Support stress bar on the oil gallery to reduce stress to prevent stress cracks?
    I honestly didn’t think that a 289 stock crank could go to 9000 RPM at 500 hp.

    Have you ever dealt with valve train harmonics at those RPMs for burnouts? Rehr and Morrison once said they destroyed a valve train doing burnouts one after another testing tires. Certain high rpm situations…engines do not like. Not really sure the reason. Just that it exists.

    • @driverinterviews
      @driverinterviews  Год назад

      I have read that but I have done my burnouts up against a 6800 chip for about 10 years now and fortunately have not seen any damage due to harmonics. I do not do long burnouts and feather the throttle on the way out. In my automatic cars I stay off the chip altogether.
