It's been a long time since my last post, and so much has happened. In the past week, I fully ruptured my achilles tendon a week before my long vacation to Korea. I had plans scheduled through the end of the year that I had to completely cancel. This is my second achilles rupture in the last year. It left me asking God "why"? What did I do to deserve this?
And then I sat alone in my room in silence for the first time in a long time. I sat for hours. And the dark thoughts racing over me, telling me that I am not loved and that I am alone grew louder and louder. They became so loud that I was left sitting in my seat (since I can't stand or walk) just staring at the wall. And then I got the urge to sit down and worship because, what else am I gonna do while I'm immobilized and alone?
God wanted intimacy with me. And He wanted me to know that I did nothing wrong. I did not "deserve" this situation. And as I worshipped through my emotions and anxiety, I started feeling grateful for the very breath in my lungs. I was grateful for music, and for the ability to worship regardless of how imperfect it might be.
