    Excellent! Only one correction. I just read that Starbucks switched to oat milk because it foams up better than any other alternative milk. Even dairy milk! They showed a girl on the video doing it & the bubbles were as huge as balloons! I can get mine to bubble up and foam just by shaking it rigorously, and it's almost like it's steamed, which makes my tea/hot carob/coffee taste better.

      And most people soak the oats to help the body absorb all the nutrients, so she made a few mistakes but still great video

      Starbucks uses Oatly Barista Edition Oat Milk which has more ingredients. So naturally it is specially made so it will foam. This recipe is closer to Malks, which I use, containing only organic oats, filtered water and Himalayan salt. That's why I love this recipe. If you eat a well balanced diet, the minimal amount of phytic acid in one unsoaked glass of oat milk shouldn't cause any issues. I always soak oatmeal, other grains or long ferment breads. I'd rather have a smooth glass of oat milk as opposed to a slimmy glass of oat milk. It's a trade off, but one you should make as you see fit. So I don't see these as mistakes, just more personal preference or options. Thank you for this recipe!

    STRAINER IS BETTER THAN NUTBAG..I SUGGEST MESH STRAINER FIRST SIFTING IT SIDE TO SIDE AND WHAT REMAINS PLACE IT IN NUTBAG AND STRAIN THE REST TIL ITS SMOOTH OATMILK..THEN ADD A TABLESPOON OF HONEY FOR THE NATURAL ENZYMES AND PLACE IN FRIG

    Why should we NOT use a nutmilk bag?

    • @zaheermaniyar
      @zaheermaniyar Месяц назад

      Right question 👍🏼, and i will suggest to use nut milk bag for sure, because that way you will get really good equal consistency, whereas if you will use just a drainer then definitely as she mentioned later in her video there will be separation of heavy and light liquid while your oat milk seating in your fridge, so go for nut milk bag to avoid that, i am using it and really happy with it.

    You can't make tea with this oat milk, cos the moment u boil it, it becomes slimy, which doesn't happen in the case of oat milk, brought from market

      @DetoxinistaRecipes  2 года назад +1

      You can use it as a creamer, but I don't think it heats very well for lattes. (It thickens like oatmeal does when heated.) I'm still experimenting with a work around for that!

      @@jenniferbreaux1327 Get 1 liter of cold water and about 120 grams of oats into a blender, add a small spoon of gluco-amylase and alpha-amylase. Blend it for a minute. Then strain the mixture using a milk bag into a boiling pot. Squeeze out as much moisture as you can to extract every but of goodness in there! No matter how slimy it feels. Then heat up the milk gently to about 65 degrees Celcius and put your stove on the absolute lowest setting. Use a thermometer to check the temp every 10 minutes or so and stir while you do this. Keep the mixture heated like this between 65 and 75 degree Celcius for an hour. After that time has passed, heat it up a bit quicker to about 85 degrees Celcius so as to pasteurize it. Then immediately transfer it to a glass bottle and store in the fridge to cool down. After that, enjoy as is, make your pancakes with it or any sauces, etc.

      @@umidorland thanks! every time I've looked up whether or not to cook oat milk I'm warned that it'll thicken to a gravy/pudding consistency (which is why it's so awesome in gravy!) so is yours not very thick?
