Hi, I tried it the same way but it did not work for me for some reason. Could you/anyone help me with this? For references, I am using a windows 11 laptop.
Very weird that it did not work, I have never seen this not work. All i can suggest is 100% ensure that you followed the steps properly. I will pin this comment to see if anyone else can offer any suggestions
@@SamHayden Yes, in fact I was also shocked that it didn't work because I had tried searching for many other tutorials/articles that seemed to give these exact steps. I followed all of them exactly as mentioned but it just doesn't work. I came across another way where you can do it with windows Powershell but I wasn't confident in doing that; scared if I will mess something up in my system.
@@user-jv7xr7bi2h Can you link me on that powershell article and I will see if I can help. I am pretty decent with powershell
Hey, did you receive the link?@@SamHayden
@@user-jv7xr7bi2h No I dont see the link, I bet YT blocked it for safety reason. Just tell me what webpage it is on and the name of the article,, I can probably find it
You just made my day. It is unfortunate I have to spend so much time removing or disabling windows "features" that no one likes or wants... like this one.

I followed a different set of instructions that didn't have me create the Explorer folder and didn't work, but this worked on the first try! Thanks!

Web stuff in the start menu is annoying as F. Thanks
Oh I agree, I do not see the point of it. That is what a web browser is for lol. Thank you for the comment, appreciate you watching
It keeps returning as well as top apps I even did a reg edit worked for a day and it came back
Hi, thanks for the comment. That is really odd. I have never seen it not work, in fact just did this same thign for a customer a couple days ago and it worked fine, so I am not sure why it wont work for you, sorry.
@@SamHayden it’s giving me suggested websites as well as top apps, it makes the menu look like a mess m, my first windows since xp Microsoft has really become a different breed, with the one drives and Microsoft 360, wish I could uninstall Microsoft edge and just use brave but can’t seem to figure out that one
@@thrax_843 Yeah sorry it sounds liek you have not had the best luck with the things you have mentioned. Hang in there, there are many videos here on youtube that can help. even removing Edge there is a way. Good luck!
@@SamHayden Microsoft has a nasty habit of resetting bundled microsoft sotware to defaults on updates--and they frequently update Explorer.
didn't work for me. I tried with policy group and registry editor...
Very weird that it did not work, I have only seen 1 other time that this did not work. All i can suggest is 100% ensure that you followed the steps properly. Thank you for watching and commenting
@@SamHayden thanks for your fast reply. I cleaned my registry before following your steps. maybe that has something to do with it? this is the bat file I used:
SC config trustedinstaller start=auto
reg delete "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies" /f
reg delete "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\WindowsSelfHost" /f
reg delete "HKCU\Software\Policies" /f
reg delete "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Policies" /f
reg delete "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies" /f
reg delete "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\WindowsSelfHost" /f
reg delete "HKLM\Software\Policies" /f
reg delete "HKLM\Software\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Policies" /f
reg delete "HKLM\Software\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies" /f
@@sebastiancanalesgarcia I dont see anything there that should interfere with the steps I provided.
@@SamHayden that's weird. I restored my pc to the point before applying the registry clean. Now it works 🤯
@@sebastiancanalesgarcia WOW cool wello congrats glad it is working now!!
