I hate how it's become almost mandatory to spend two minutes at the beginning of every video clarifying that "this video is only MY opinion." Not aimed at you specifically. Great video. Keep it up.
I honestly love that this game basically makes it essential to have an archer because they made them so good! Same with fliers. Overall this is a really good guide!
I’ve come to the conclusion after 150 hours of gameplay that Wyvern lords and bow knights are the best classes in the game. They have it all: mobility, speed, damage output and defense. Mages get absolutely fucked by bow knights and Wyvern lords double easily and if you got death blow on them they one round anything in sight. Magic classes are strong but being locked to 4 movement is such a pain in the ass until they become dark/holy knights or Gremories.
Magic Byleth is really fun, especially since Enlightened One uses Faith to begin with. I'm working up Byleth's riding so I can have him up as a Holy Knight.
One problem, that requires taking Lysithea significantly into axes and into classes that dont benefit her magic stat. You'll be hindering her potential and lowering her damage per attack output. Make her a Dark Knight instead.
@@louiesatterwhite3885 Not really, I used her in free battles as an adjuvant to up skills, she took almost no levels. And you can use her in ng+ a true monster
@@loupnoirful wow, something broken in NG+? It's not like NG+ can make litteraly anyone broken right? Like ffs, I hate people who go on and on about "omeger wrath+vantage+defiant crit is so good!!!!!!"
I feel Enlightened One is basically magic Byleth so why not train them as a mage? My team has 2 dedicated healers as well as 4 attackers that can use magic. All 4 of them know at least heal for some emergency healing needs
On my first play through with black eagles. Man I knew not recruiting other students was gonna come back and bite me. I’m just into part 2 after the time jump and there’s no one to recruit at the monastery now.
This is gonna be how I’ll be running my next team set for my first Classic Hard run Fem Byleth- Gremory Edelgard- Either Mortal Savant or Dancer haven’t decided yet (gonna be weird to run) Hubert- Mortal Savant (Aura Knuckles edition) Lysithea- Gremory Felix- Mortal Savant Ferdinand- Great Knight Ingrid- Dark Knight Petra- Falcon Knight Caspar- Wyvern Lord Mercedes- Gremory Marianne- Holy Knight Lorenz- Dark Knight Bernadetta- Bow Knight
I beat the Black Eagles path on classic/hard a few days ago without ever using a flying unit. That last battle was a bit of a pain but I didn't find it to be overly difficult; especially with the ability to rewind time. As long as you have warp, flying units aren't overly necessary.
@@Victory4Faust Oh it's entirely possible to beat it without Fliers. Careful baiting of units works too; Edelgard can usually take some punishment, and my Edelgard had Healing Focus because I raised her Brawling. [She was Punchy Edel] But the map still really rewards fliers. Cav get bogged down hard by the fire patches. Foot troops [Except Theifs/Assassins] as well. I actually had 2 Assassins and 2 Fliers for that mission, and they put in by far the most work. By comparison, my Caspar; Ferdinand and Mages did next to nothing. Edelgard did a lot but it was mostly baiting mobs.
I still think they need to add more master classes. I have even thought of a few. Castle Knight- speedier, more resilient armor knight that can use magic Battlemage- a reason magic, authority, sword infantry unit High Bishop- more powerful version of bishop Abyss Walker- more powerful version of warlock/ dark bishop Move falcon knight to advanced and replace it with Valkyrie- more powerful falcon knight with magic capabilities and authority Remove gender lock and add a wyvern flyer at intermediate to push toward wyvern knight and Lord Finally unique classes for Byleth depending on route. Enlightened One being unlock of Church route so due to it being unlocked later making the growths better, Wing of Hegemon for Black Eagles a more armored/ resilient and attack oriented Byleth And I don't remember the specific titles for the other route Byleth but it would make team composition much more fun! Of course I am also hoping for BE route to reach 21 chapters like the rest eventually so that you can actually get to master classes before the end.
My composition always ends up being "oops, all Gremories" lol. It's very easy to extend their range to be a max of 3-6 plus ones with high range, like Bolting and Meteor, that you want to double their uses.
3 mages (can heal and attack), 2 fliers, 1 paladin, 1 bow knight, war master (gauntlets OP), whatever else i feel like. byleth usually becomes a dark knight for me while holy knight gives white tomefaire, white magic sucks offensively and is only good for dodge tanking. Black magic was still the primary even as a holy knight
I've always used sort of a rule of 2 when it comes to games play a fighting game have 2 mains play a moba have 2 for each style I want. So for this game since it's my 1st fire emblem I went into it running that style of 2 2 tanks (ends up being mounted tanks) 2 Melee dmg dealers (generally byleth and the houses power house physical user) 2 healers (mainly use white magic and 1 will be dancer) 2 mages (dark Magic users) and than 2 archers than I split my 10 unit's into 2 teams and have them run around as those squads on opposite sides of the map to route enemies as long as they weren't spread apart at the start of the map
I played Blue Lion and use Bow Knight Byleth, VERY useful. He just sniped most enemy together with Ashe XD But I also want to try other class in other playthrought as well. And yub , we gotta have fun playing it!
1st time playing Fire Emblem and im enjoying it. Playing as black eagle and the only recruits i have so far are all magic users and shamir. basically just went and increase support level on the characters i like.
I’m raising an army, so everyone must be mounted. Lol. I’m currently on my second playthrough with BL again but with female Byleth. Really like your videos. Subscribing for sure! Didn’t know what I was really doing during the first run and just wanted to beat the game to see how the story turned out. Now I know the fate of the students, I’m trying to ‘recruit’ them all lmao. Ferdinand and Hilda are my last. But I heard hilda is iffy. Idk, a lot of differentiating info on the interwebs lol.
In general my team set up is split between an assortment of mounts and fliers of some kind and then complemented between Heroes and Berserkers especially Berserkers and lastly a couple healers in particular the Valkyrie type and a dancer if the map seems to dangerous for the dancer I'll leave them out but when possible I like to include them. Now for this game a set up I plan on doing is primarially War Master, Wyvern Lord and then a Holy Knight or two plus a dancer. I really like Berserkers a lot and War Master is the closest class to that but I also like mounts but especially wyverns so that's why those are chosen as well.
I make all units have raw attack power. Lysithea is a good example. I gave her Lorenz's staff, so who cares about her movement range? She has long attack range now. Movement is king, raw magic power is king, raw attack power is king. This game seems mostly focused on player phase, so having powerful player phase units is great! Armored units aren't really the way to go, unless you are Edlegard, I guess? I'm not sure as I have yet to do Black Eagles.
Edelgard is a good armored unit, but she's way better as literally anything else. It's a waste of her stats (and her relic weapons' combat art) to keep her in an armor class. She does much better as a wyvern lord, to the point where she can clear most of her post time skip story maps in 1-2 turns after stride and use of her exclusive combat art, it's nuts.
Could you tell me why all the characters (mages) have different spells even though they take the same class path? There is always atleast 1 spell that i only get on Mercedes for example that i can't get on others.
Well, I tend to do Healer, Dancer, War Master and rest as flier of choice or Bow Knight or perhaps Dark Knight. Unless it's Lysithea, because double Warp serves well. Though getting in range to actually nuke something can be hard. Also there is Petra who I guess would make fine Wyvern Lord but I just love the idea of making her a dodge tank Assassin. Didn't play much yet, only second route, but I did not ever have a unit that actually prefers fighting on Enemy Phase rather than Player Phase, other than her. Mostly because of Avo+ on Wait, taking her down Flying Skill was a great idea. Bow Knight Shamir with Killer Bow is also bullshit, I can take anything because she will crit 80-99% of the time and double. Generally she and Petra are my bullshit units xD Though I admit, lately I've had trouble firing off my Raphael and Lysithea tactical nukes due to how fast everyone else is moving around on their horses, pegasi and wyverns, so...
Magic for byleth is always been fine as he can transition into mortal savant or his unique chosen one. My fav set up is felix with lifetaker + vantage + ageis shield relic No matter what he hits he heals from and that guy becomes unstoppable even with brawling 😉 Brawlers are kinda broken in this game 😂..
