Thanks so much for one of the clearest videos Ive seen on post knee operation exercises. That said, I want to strongly suggest that you include : 1)suggested reps and sets per exercise per day; 2) any need to continue these past the 4 weeks; 3) about how far to push the pain threshold (and with regular pain meds); 3) if it’s “normal” to feel such difficulty in the exercises about bending the knee backward, and what to expect in progress.
Thank you for providing this precise, easy to follow exercises! Very well done. I am two weeks after knee replacement. I have been diligent to complete these exercises 2-3 times a day and am doing extremely well. At 10 days post op my in home PT graduated me to outpatient PT as I have surpassed all goals. I am grateful for this video to remind me what to focus on with each exercise. The more I exercise, the better my knee feels.
I am one week out from my total knee replacement surgery. These are some of the best videos I have seen so far. I am glad they are not using an actual patient because the person would not be able to do the full range of exercises the PT person is talking about.
This was great, I've been looking for "which is the best ointment for knee pain?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Ieyameron Unexpected Improvement - (search on google ) ? It is a good one of a kind guide for discovering how to end your mind-numbing knee pain minus the normal expense. Ive heard some amazing things about it and my colleague got cool success with it.
I had knee surgery a month n a half ago.. all the ex you have shown my physio put me thru except the knee .. he included climbing steps 20 of them... I am on my own now n have to continue the exercises... thank you for this video
Thanks from Scotland for the video. I’ve just had replacement knee surgery and this is a nice clear video showing the best exercises. How many of reputations of each exercise would you recommend.
Thank you so much. I practiced pre- operatively. Now I'm at post-op 6tth day and following this exercises twice a day besides of rehab therapy. It's not easy but keep in doing as much as I can. Thanks
Sorry to be so off topic but does anyone know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account? I somehow lost my password. I would appreciate any assistance you can offer me!
@Bowen Lennon I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
For the short arc quads in lying (with a roll placed underneath), a good way to also ensure contraction of the quads is to have the toes pointed up towards the nose, which the patient can feel the quads tightening even more. Nice video by the way!
I have been doing total knee rehabilitation of patients but I don't think patellar glide and knee extension on chair is feasible as already patient is in extreme pain.thanks
I had knee surgery a month n a half ago..with the exception of the knee cap ex . my physio did all the ex shown by you ...he included climbing the staircase 20 steps... thank you for this video...
Patela mobilization with hands is totally impossible for the first three weeks. Hahaha. First two weeks - its still sworn with sticthes. The third week one must be careful with the remanence of the just-heal-post sticthes.
I have swelling like a football and loads of staples that pull. I can’t do anything without bad pain and I certainly can’t lift my leg as it means I contract my knee and it’s impossibly painful. If I could see someone who had still their staples and huge swelling (which alone without the pain makes it hard to get the bend) it would make it more realistic and give a more realistic view. I’m finding this like a Pilates video. My advice is to use a patient who is actually in weeks one or two. I am exactly one week and this has depressed me.

If you ice the knee for about 15 mins before you excercise it helps a lot. I am on day 6 and I have nearly a 90% bend but I can’t raise my leg at all. Each day you should put yourself a small goal to reach. Do the best you can with your excercise each day and it does get easier.

Mark Lynch are u better now? I'm 1 week out and the swelling makes it hard to do these stretches but I'm still trying, I just don't want to develop scar tissue and don't have a wide range of motion.

It is normal to have difficulty. People will progress differently. If excessive swelling or pain the next day. Reduce reps and load.
Thank you for great content for rehab after TKR!

Very good n properly informative video.
I really wish these videos would use an actual patient. As this will give a true reflection on what you can accomplish post op.
But that woukdnt work because EVERY SINGLE human heals at different rates....and we need to see Correct technique we ate aiming for
I agree ☝️

Greetings Sir,
Knee replacement surgery was completed 2days ago(for one Knee). It is paining after doing exercises. What to do Sir?
Elevate leg above heart level with ice pack. This works for me.

After leg operation how many days wait for exercise

it same as hip replacement?!
NOOO-Precautions are different
Same day
My knee was far too swollen to do anything
The drugs made me halicinate and I didn’t sleep for the first 9 days
Was a nightmare

I am at day 5 and can not lift my leg off the bed whatsoever.
Cheat a little by using a bathrobe belt or towel to get your knee started upward … cheat a little less each day as your muscles heal and strengthen
Superrrr
👌
