This happened to me last year. However, being interviewed by or having to potentially report to someone technically my academic junior is one of the concomitants of life. The main issue was the vibes of pride and arrogance I got from the kid. I guess I was rejected from that interview in part due to him feeling I was overqualified and saw me as potential competition.
