This blows my mind, but I live in the south. You ask a friendly question, you get like 10 people happily crowding around and providing whatever information you requested. Doesn't make up for the other... downfalls of the south.

IMMEDIATELY after watching the video, I went out and bought everything to make lox bagels.
Update: They’re delicious. I used smoked salmon, chive and onion cream cheese, and red onion.

if youre here until end of week, Kora is a filipino doughnut shop. they take orders online on Mondays at 3pm. they sell out in less than 1 minute sometimes. worth checking out id say.

Lisa the baconeggandcheese is also VERY popular. Most get it on rolls but I recommend the everything bagel. Also yes those 2 are very popular in NYC. We love them

lox is so addictingly salty tasty. When I used to work at the airport, I ate it almost everyday, I LOVE RAW SALMON

My favorite combo would be a turkey cranberry bagel sandwich with sprouts and cream cheese. A must have with this is a jalepeno cheddar bagel that really takes this sandwich to the next level. I don’t care much for turkey and cranberry but with everything together it’s so flavorful especially with the jalepeno.

I work at a farmers market, specifically at a bagel stand and literally yesterday they sold out an hour before closing, but they’re so good and I love having a lox bagel once in a while :)

yesss a plain bagel works perfectly ! the salmon is very flavorful so the added capers, onions and stuff definitely do just fine without a special bagel time.

From a fellow New Yorker, I'm glad you were able to enjoy your first lox bagel. Fully agreed that the choice of bagel is very important. Garlic bagel would have been my recommendation. The only thing I do with my lox bagel is hold the capers, they never do anything for me. My ideal recipe is simply a big schmear of cream cheese, onions, and lox/smoked salmon. 😋🤤👍👍

There isnt a lot of bagel places near me in FL but whenever i go to einstein's bagels I always order a nova lox bagel sandwich toasted with green Chile bagel and onion and chive cream cheese. It's so yummy. If that place offers a spicy bagel that's what you should get for the nova lox.
