wantin mee usually serves with bbq pork so malays wont touch it
but chinese muslims and some malays started offering pork free version with bbq duck...and its gaining popularity in KL where chinese muslim shops are booming
its the same process with char kuey teow as it was cooked in lard .but now very popular aming malays as halal versions were adapted
malays are very quick adopting foods from immigrants and improvisong making halal versions
Chinese Muslims also take advantage offering halal version of Chinese due to business opportunities

Some history on the town Bekok and other small towns which may look like ghost towns in that area.
When the British build railroads, they didnt build it to cross major towns, they build it as close as possible to (British owned) rubber plantations and mining towns.
So small (and remote) villages like Bekok which have train stops became busy small towns.
Now that people can afford cars, and the road networks are more developed, towns like Bekok is no longer attractive, people have no business there anymore, back to what it was.
Anyway, Kuala Rompin is very close to Pekan, about 1 hour away. That's a very far detour and the nature view of the natural coastal forest/kampungs is also very beautiful.

It's alright to have the wantons in your noodles. Some stalls may serve the wantons in the noodles, or if you order take out, the wantons might be packed with the noodles. If the noodles dry out after awhile, you may add some soup to rehydrate the noodles but never add so much soup that your noodles are drowned in the soup as this is the "dry" version. The soup version is very very common in Hong Kong.
