That 318 probably saved that cars life
I never comment on the asking price...even as a MOPAR fan...$54k IS WAY TO HIGH!(Used Car Movie)
Same here, I always stay out of it and never comment but this is nuts. The entire underneath of that car and the bubba special exhaust is horrible. Not to hate on 318’s and column shift automatics, but that is NOT the right combination for a car of this asking price. someone will pay, most likely overseas and that’s what jacks up the prices on these things.
@@RsBold Hey, I just think just the same as you guys do, and I´m from Europe. Prices for such cars are just insane right now. Even for European classics.
Column shifter and a 318 to start. Definitely not worthy of 54k. 383 and an automatic on the floor, then we can talk.
Check prices at crown motors I Ventura California
@@aziegster not for me!!!
Lawd have mercy, 55k for a 318.
Its inflation adjusted sticker price new, is about $25,000.
In 1990 I bought a straight no rust 69 Mustang fastback with a small block and 4-speed for $3000.
These old cars have really inflated.
Worn out 318 with a dress up package, hack job for exhaust, oil leaks and a quicky paint job over rust. Not worth the asking price. But hey, at least the horn works.
318 AUTO FOR 55K .. Crazy numbers :)
That's what I was thinking too geeze
Yeah you'd think it already had an engine swap to something better than a 318
And get rid of the column shift auto…
Gotta remember...DUKES OF HAZZARD...
@@LITTLE1994 that car had the 440 in it though
Is that really the muffler bouncing off of the drive shaft? Way to much money for a 318...
First thing I thought when I seen that driveway diy exhaust. Between that and the underneath of that car in general, it is atrocious for the price listed. And for a 318 column shift….First time in a while I’ve seen this place overprice a vehicle this much.
A little pricey for a 318
Only goes up in price after this
My dream car. 318 is too small for THIS car, though. Go at least 383, but prefer 440 or the 426 Hemi.
Yes it is a beautiful car I had one in high school gold ....but that's way to expensive
@@troyklabunde9136 Agreed. Especially with only a 318... 🤷♂🤷♂
Chargers standard engine was a slant six.
318, the slant six was a rare and undesirables option and very few we’re produced
People always taking a dump on the 318...
Yes that's a real beauty and it's my favorite year because of the tail lights. However there's no way it's worth the price! A little 318 and not an R/T! It's worth closer to about 28.
Cannot find them for $28 man common lmao
Seriously? Rust buckets are going for more than that!
I guarantee it will sell for that
I'm with you. For that kind of money it should at least have a big block and 4-speed.
Yes, I find the price a bit high and would request the dealer clean it up a lot more. Nice sounding motor without being noisy.
Nice car for sure! It never should have been an option for the 230hp 318. The 383 should have been the base motor not the 318. Still a beautiful car!
A 318 will surprise you I had one in my 1960 Starliner course it was an old cop car black and white with that son of a bitch was Gary perfectly to that motor 120 was no problem
@@tomgunter32 It may do 120 with the right gearing.But you're looking at a 1/4mi time of mid 16-17+and 0-60 around 10 secs.This Charger is far from a muscle car.Its a touring car.
With that 318,and only 230 horsepower on tap, that charger's no racecar,it doesn't even come close to race car territory with that motor in it.John Guinto
Nice but that exhaust needs some help. No hangers, that's a lot of pressure on those headers
Thanx @ Mapel Motors...💙
That is a beautiful automobile a real classic 👍
My dad had a black 68 charger with 440 magum it was so fun ride In,it would pass everything but a gas station lol.nice ride you got reminds me of one in movie Christiane
Christine was a 58 Plymouth Fury.It had a 330 w/dual carbs putting out nearly 300hp.Amazing for 1958.The detailing of that car was an absolute work of art.
I was thinking his buddy in movie had the blue charger
I had a 69, same color with white vinyl top and black interior..
Nice car. But $54k with a 318? No thanks.
My alltime fav muscle car!!..wish it had a 440 magnum in it 💪
No power steering brakes too much $$$.I'll give u 35,000
Ill take 100 of them
I love the Dodge Charger, and the Challenger, I wish I could afford to buy one, however, I couldn't even afford the petrol for it these days, especially in England ☹️
As soon as that oil pressure started topping out at 20 lb, he got that camera the hell off that gauge quick. LOL
I see people hating on this badass Charger. I’ve always loved the body style especially the grill. I’m not a expert on prices on these but I don’t see very many anymore.
Yes I’ve been wondering where they are actually finding these cars for $25k lol. We have had a hard time finding them in this shape for under $50k. Just to put it in perspective we have a list of buyers since we listed it yesterday. They all are saying the same thing. They cannot find any, I’m sure it will be sold today. You know how these internet buyers are tho. They seem to be able to find anything you want till it’s time to bring it to ya. Thank you for watching
@@MapleMotorsNickSouthgate that’s for sure. When I seen it I figured this is gonna sell fast. Y’all definitely get some nice cars and have good prices. I’m a big Camaro guy and maybe one day I’ll pull the trigger on one with ya. Good talking with ya. God Bless
I love this car, hope get one one day
What a sweet ride! I love the color combination.
I want this....we had a 1968 318 red blk hard top, Power brakes steering, bucket seats New $ 3,600 automatic on floor.
I love where the gas cap is.
Beautiful Charger! Clean!
Great looking Charger!!!!!
Yank the 318 out and drop in a 383 or a 440! Oh and if your pockets are deep enough a HEMI!
If the car were a dodge challenger then the 318 would be fine for a car that size. But for a charger, the 318's way too small a motor for a car that size to be able to move it along with any real authority. That 318 's working too hard to overcome the weight of that charger.John Guinto
Every time I see upload of a charger or 70s coronet I run around the room like a pastor scream ooooooooohhhh lord!!!!!!
Knew it! Somebody will big block that car. Fix the flaws and we will all be drooling over it in a year! 😂
That thing does have a beautiful self lubricating chassis.
I see what you did there and I approve.
wow Nice 68 Charger and the horn works and I love the classic radio and it works!! Thanks for the ride Nick!!
These cars also came with a slant 6..
Had a buddy that had a 69 SE 383 4-speed.
Straight 6 would be a nightmare for these Chargers...
People complaining bout the price…they’re running a business and part of running a business is to make money. They’re not giving away these cars for small bills. It’s obvious they know the market hence why the car is no longer available. If this car was as perfect as perfect can be with a bigger engine without the auto trans it’ll be price closer to $70-80k or even higher. Man, y’all need to relax and just enjoy the video.
Painted roof much better than vinyl
Lawd have mercy! Thats a bad ass ride!
dude, you're living my biggest dream
😱 OMG Another car that sold itself. They don't make them like they used to.
Rust , chrome will get worse because of chipped area , torn seats , automatic 318 , and paint blisters and rust underneath them . And the exhaust needs to be ran out the back of car . Nice overall for it's age , but the price is an issue for me . Keep them coming Nick .
Nice 68'! Had one back in the mid ninety's. Regret selling it.
383 or 440 would of mad the car better
These cars are the best made in the USA , factory products, ever but not with the 318 small block. It needs a big block to be in that class.
Omg Nick this car was amazing.tack on another 10 grand for the dash bored an 10 more for the emblems74 grand awesome .sick.
I always love the bench racers who think that they know the value of everything...here's what it boils down to, boys and girls...a car, or anything else, is worth exactly the amount of money that someone will pay you for it. Not a penny more, not a penny less. And, in this case, someone paid their price, and FAST, too!!! The car, as is, was worth $54,000 today!
Yeah for sure , some people are just living in the past.
Beautiful car!
You won't have this one long.. really nice.
It looks like a charger from fast and furious movies, cool car rare too thanks Nick stay cool 😎 😎 😊 🤟
Nick, you guys lost everyone on this one. You’d have to be an idiot to pay your asking price. Sorry brother, one bad apple doesn’t spoil the bunch though. You still bangin it out on everything else. Keep it rockin!!!
It’s just a rare model on this mopar, we never get these cars in because they are very expensive. 318 or not we have a list of people waiting to pay for it. We try and keep the prices down and are still only marking them up $3,000. It’s the market and the fact that it is a 1968 Charger that will bring this kind of money. Almost impossible for us to get ahold of one in this condition. Thats why it is already sold. It actually wen’t on hold in the first hour yesterday. We got the full amount today. Thanks for watching
I’m not in the market yet for a muscle car but let me know when you get a 1973 Dodge Charger SE Blue/White Interior slapstick automatic fully restored.
Damn, that’s a sweet Charger.
I'm ready for test drive on nova lol
Hell of a nice car hell of a nice car
Excellent body lines, lots of survivor plusses.....Someone just lost steam on the exhaust.....a new system with the factory square tips would really bring this over the top from a rear appearance......Base Charger, but still nice, despite being a bit pricy........
Gotta Move where you live 35 bucks wouldn't even move the gas needle where I live
Love the Charger
17K veiws under 14 hours 👍👍💪😎.. very nice charger
Some are just nuts!
Wow what a gem
Is rear as these cars are becoming I think he's got it priced right the thing is a definite Survivor looking good
Nice
Love the car but that 318 would go. I would put a 4,40 in quick. Then it would be awesome. Nice car though.
Wow 🤔well I'll be golly 🍀 get R done😎✌️
Bummer about the 318 and column shifter but what a beautiful car! Stunning!
Nothing wrong with a 318 great motor
Hey Nick 👋🏻
Nice beautiful car. But with this kind of car you want power steering and power brakes
Amen 🙏🏾
White strips were for the R/T version
She's Gorgeous!!!! Drop a 440 in it and you have one of the ultimate cars.
Or the mighty 426 Hemi
@@LITTLE1994 Indeed! Shoot I would even be happy with a 383.
I'm surprised with cars like this, that you guys don't do engine and trans swaps and make extra big $ for a quick flips. All you need is a 440 grate engine and install a 4 speed or just a floor shifter for the auto and she'd pull in the big bucks for just a couple days work.
We just buy and sell, if we make $3,000 we move the ride. No big markups just high volume sales is what we thrive on. Working on it for months and trying to fix everything just raises our prices and takes away from profits. Not to mention way less cars. Currently running thru 60 a month the way we do things. Thank you
@@MapleMotorsNickSouthgate Yeah, I don't mean going all the way and restore them, though that would be cool to have a shop devoted to that also, though that's of course a whole other business in itself. I'm just saying taking a weekend on these obvious ones, where a dropping in a big block 440 grate engine in just a day or two worth of hours would yield massive gains, that's all. I can for example pull an engine alone in a classic car and drop another one in, in just a few hours working alone but even if it took 8 to 16 hours, the rewards with a 318 to 440 swap in a car like this would be MASSIVE returns and any shade tree can easily swap these old school engines.
How fast this car sold reflects on the asking price...It was very fair. Chargers are hard to come by. Up in Canada they'll sell you a vin number and a gutted body with rusted sheet metal for 15-20k.
People don’t seem to understand what these cars are worth. Thank you
People also don't understand supply and demand, basic economic principles...
Who ever bought that car for that price has a f ton of money plan and simple!!😁
Mann" B5 blue & white R/T stripe my favorite color combination as I always wanted to paint my white 68 charger B5 blue since the car originally was a gunmetal gray metallic somebody had it restored in the 90s and had it painted white throughout with the white interior but that blue interior sure does look marvelous that's pretty rare and speaking of rare mine was an rtse so it had every option power brakes power windows power steering air conditioning clocking attack of course hideaway headlights wood grain on the inside interior steering wheel but those power windows I would have trade it out any day for roll-ups getting the power window motors basically come out of any of those old Chrysler Newports and all those other land yachts from back in the '70s in New Yorkers they're all the same mine was a matching number car 383 torque flight console 323 rear end of course I tried a few different rear ends for 10 488 where you had just first first and first then throw it into a 2500 stall speed solid motor mounts and a cheetah reverse manual shift valve body which was a little much for the street since you had an upshift and downshift and the thing shifted so hard felt like the whole dash was coming out into your lap but what a great car that was you guys really get some awesome cars from blown Camaros and chevelles and everything in between I love the noble walk arounds once again another awesome job
Thank you
@@MapleMotorsNickSouthgate it's got to be really hard giving some of them cars up that come through there that's for sure, hmm" maybe I just keep this one "
Riding with u as we speak
Nice nice looking Charger but kinda like the 68 GTO with the wrong motor in it. The Charger has a 318 which is disappointing but maybe original other than that it’s a very nice looking clean car
I've been watching your videos for awhile.
You're way off base on the price of this car for all the problems and only 318 engine. It should be priced about $25,000 less.

The ole gutless wonder , 318 mopar.
I wish I could find more 68 for that. I just haven’t been able to. We only mark our cars up $3,000 to put it in perspective
👍 👍 👍 👍
I FINALLY WON ONE !!!!
oh and mine had a 383 in it
😎
Front seats from a 69. No headrests in 68.
Sweet deal
Is that 318 a 2 or 4 barrel?.John Guinto
Beautiful ride
This one should be interesting. I think with a little wiggle room it will still go. You watch! 💯💪🇺🇸Mopar
Yeah man its a huge difference in the amount of phone calls I got on this ride and the comment section here on youtube. I’ll have it sold today prolly
Needs a wedge motor!
Must have taken this one home for the weekend or just got it Monday I was there Saturday afternoon that car wasn't there it would probably be mine lol damit
One more year and it would’ve been the General Lee!!!!!
Close to Dennis' car in Christine
Killer Kolor Kombo
Clone this car into a 440 R/T you'll not get your money back. Good candidate for high end restomod. Or you can paint it orange throw some stars and bars on it and go jump it.
Did that car come out of Missouri
Need to find a station that has non ethanol gas
I've only been 'looking/watching/following' classic car prices for about 9 months now (hoping to have something a year from now or so...), and even I 'jumped' a little bit at the asking price. Just because it's a Mopar...🤷♂🤷♂
We have been trying to buy one of these for a while. Seems like they start at $40k now for a non driver. Anyone tells you different has not been shopping around here lately. Thanks for watching
Only like Chevy GMC videos but nice car 🚨🚨🚨🚨
Might be high price to some but bet she doesn’t last 5 days
Still on the low side of the market. Everything keeps rising
Pretty
Mopar at Maple Motors!
Like the car…had a 68 myself years ago,440 4speed……the exhaust could have been done better….lolol
That exhaust is crap ! That hack job wouldn’t pass state inspection in PA.
i can by it and how much ?
Very beautiful Charger but......
Those Bass Packs 🙉 🙉 🙉 🙉
