- This is my comparison between Bavsound Ghost Woofers and Match Woofers (Audiotec Fisher) for BMW. This process can be generally followed for e60, e90, f30 and lots of others. Here are the items I used to make this happen:

I'm glad you said that you will have a listen to both regardless of their weight.... Had you decided that one speaker was better than the other solely on weight would have resulted in me clicking next video... The big mistake that a lot of people make when choosing speakers is that if it's heavier or has more watts printed on it, then must be better. What people fail to realize is that the factory speakers are matched to the factory amplifier. You can get amazing sound simply by upgrading the factory amplifier with something that puts out just a little bit more power than the factory amplifier. In saying that... even though the subwoofer felt light weight, it might be able to work more efficiently with the factory amplifier. I have seen many installations where people have used very high power rated equipment where their subwoofer amplifier was rated at 1000Wrms, only to be out performed by my 270Wrms subwoofer amplifier. A lot of factory car amplifiers use some sort of negative feedback loop which looks at the voltage coming back from the speakers. When the feedback voltage is different from the input voltage, the output level is adjusted till they match. This happens automatically and the only way most people can tell if their system is like that is when they notice that no matter what music you play at full volume, the system will never distort. Now... by using a much higher powered speaker will mess with the negative feedback loop and it will either make no difference over the factory speaker, or it will perform worse. I understand that you chose the Bavsound over the lighter one because of the connection issue and I totally respect that decision. There's nothing worse than doing an upgrade to your car only to find out that some tightass didn't want to spend a few dollars on a adaptor and decided that they would just cut the wiring loom..

Don’t judge on weight guys, I’ve just upgraded our 18” pa subs from heavy old ev drivers which dropped low and thumped, to 15” active neodymium ev subs. The 15’s run rings around the old 18’s. The 15’s are active and weigh less than half that the old cabinets weighed and they were passive with no amp! Back on topic I feel those bavsound speakers are very expensive.

Dude I installed these yesterday the bavsound ghost subs and when I played music I definitely noticed a big difference from stock subs. These subs exceeding my expectations for sure. Can’t wait for them to fully break in.

I just got a 2018 BMW 4 with the HiFi tier. I came from a 2020 Ford Fussion. I didnt come out of a bently, the Ford premium tier (not sure whats in it) makes the BMW sound like a childs toy. Upgrading to some focals now.
In regards to bmw audio quality. Before I bought my own bmw, I had a chance to listen to the audio systems that my friends had. The worst one of them all was F30 base sound (no tweeters), the bass was not refined, it sounded all muddy, didn't like that. Most other friends all had E46/E90 hifi (some had subwoofers, mostly 250-350W RMS, in rear) which sounded pretty damn good, one had E91 harman kardon which was the best bet for me in terms of how nice and clear it all sounded. Then after that I went in a hunt for my own bimmer, got myself an F10 really hoping to find at least Hifi or HK, then came across one that had HiFi Professional (S677A, which previously was a HK class on E9X/E6X), couldn't be happier that I came across that audio system - Talking only about audio, nothing more, will give brief specs on it:
F11 530d 190kW xDrive (4x4 is handy for snowy winters, to daily drive)
One of the fuller comfort packages (heated front&rear/massaging front electric recaro seats, ACC, Lane assist (side collision avoidance), 4 channel climate control, soft close, shopping rear hatch :D, other miscellaneous things which makes the ride feel more luxurious)
I can definitely tell , sounds much fuller

Hey I’m thinking abo it upgrading my Gigi/Harmon system to the bav subs and speakers! Have you don’t the full system as well as is there a big feeling difference after breaking them in

In my F10, I've done the door speakers and under seat subs, but I had the standard hi-fi before, so it sounds better than that for sure. I have never sat and listened to the harman system before so I'm not sure how it would compare, and yea when I watch the video with headphones on, I can tell a difference. In real life, it was harder for me to tell because time had passed during the install so my ears kind of "forget" how much bass it had before

go for audison, its speakers sounds far better on the stock head unit, plus on top, you can add DSP...you will never regret buying audison speakers and woofer

Camaro Time ... it's just 2 speaker wires, and you don't have to cut the connector tip. Why wouldn't you be able to go back to stock? Are you making the hole bigger? Don't know the size difference between the stock and upgrade but adding sound deadening might not let you fit back the stock sub....think about that
Bro your carpet is filthy! If you are concerned about resale, it’s much easier to cap a wire than replace stained or damaged carpet.

The treble and the bass is turned all the way down when you are testing the stock subwoofers(look at the car screen). Of course the sound will be like crap. Why don't you show us the bass and treble settings when you are testing Bavsound subwoofers?
the match woofers have 2 ohm, Bavsound Ghost 8 ohm. BMW SA676 stock woofers have 2 ohm, Sa677 (top hifi) woofers have 8 ohm. matchwoofers work perfect if you replace the amp with match up 7BMW (for stock SA676) or match 10DSP (for SA677)
From the Bavsound website: "Depending on your audio system, your factory BMW woofers come in 2, 4, or 8 Ohm impedance. Our woofers are matched to the impedance of your factory woofers (we have different versions for each) to maximize performance and ensure the longevity of your factory amplifier." The Base version Ghost woofer is 4 ohms, the S676A is 2 ohms and the S677A is 8 ohms.
I watched this video with my Beats Earphone. I noticed huge difference btw stock and bsw sub, but really not sure why you felt not much difference.
I think it’s because there was a few hours difference in between me listening to the old ones and new ones. And I was listening back on my monitors while editing but they aren’t very bass heavy.
Huge difference in my 535i HK system.
I was on my iPad Pro and I could hear the diff LOL
The BAVSOUND literally made my iPad vibrate a bit cuz it was so much better.

keep up the work man your doing great love your using all stock location's when it comes to audio upgrades. a clean install looks better to me then a big bulky system install. hope you keep with the stealth install.
I've never understood why people go through all of the trouble of removing their aftermarket speakers when selling a car. way too much work for little return. You also run the risk of damage door panels and breaking clips.
I took my speakers out of my Subaru WRX (Kicker Upgrade) and went back to stock and made $350 that I wasn't going to get back....so
Octavio Guzman .. the point is, the guy in the video made it sound like adding wires so not to cut the connector to install an aftermarket sub with a different plug, would make it impossible to go back to stock...Lol

So you ordered these speakers , pulled out the seats and realized to try out the cheaper match subs, you have to cut 2 wires and make a total of 4 new ends... 😂 ... You could always save the original adapters so then you could at least have plugged up the match speakers, and the actually offer the " review " and comparison you offered... Just... Wow..😂
Well if you paid attention I wanted it all to be completely reversible. I don't want to have to tell the buyer of the car that I spliced some wires under the seats but "don't worry about it, it's totally legit" lol. Used car buyers don't want shit like that
I really need the comparison of Bavsound and Match subs but when they are properly amped. I will go on with one of BMW plug play options, focal audition match or bavsound. Match has the highest RMS output as 200W RMS per speaker, where Bavsound Ghost is 160W and Audison IFBMW is 150W, and Rockford T3 BMW is 150W, what do you guys think is the best? Is match really powerful than the others in the market?
just buy a real sub for the trunk.. the underseat sub is a gimmick..look up JL 12 W6 HO Box
The subwoofer wattage doesn't matter, it doesn't define it. The subwoofer gets what the amplifier gives, example 70 watts.

I’m thinking about doing this in my e87. I’m think i’ll get the match subs because the price tags aren’t too high. If possible, i could diy some spacers so that i can fit lower budget subs there. I have a pair of 400w subs from logitech, but i think they’ll be too big to fit under tere. Still worth a try though.

Listening on my AKG K361, the stock subs sound plain. I love the sound of the Bavsound subs, but they are very expensive.

just updated the speakers on my bmw to the bavsound. I didn't upgrade the sub or amp yet and it looks like it's not even worth getting the sub update. They selling the amp for $900 which is way too much if u ask me.

I replaced my stock subwoofers in my e61 Bwm last summer. I used those Match....things and it was a huge disappointment. Now I'm seriously considering to put back those stock ones and install those match ones in my Chevy express. I´m not going to use them as a subs in Shevy, but as a mid woofers. I have 4x10" Kickers in there already and set of Infinity 6,5" and tweeters. I´m sure that those 8" match things will do just fine as a mids, but not as a subs. What do you think? I was thinking to put them under the seats in about 15L enclosures.
Yea I ended up using an amp bypass harness from that same ebay seller and installing an actual sub in the trunk. Sounds much better

Keep up the good work! I like how you're very honest and don't jump into conclusions. Tbh, I'm very disappointed with BMW's sound systems. Even with expensive upgrades they don't sound that much better. I have a friend who had a 4 series with full bavsound upgrade + amp and honestly although the difference to stock BMW is noticeable, it still sounds worse than other (non premium) manufacturers. I enjoyed the music much more in my old MX5 with Bose, Honda CRZ stock system and my other friend's Ford with JBL.
If you buy Bmws with base audio, it is not Bmws fault. Bmw bowers & wilkins is one of the best audio systems on the market. Even the Harman kardon should be great.
@@maxl7827 Why isn't it their fault? Are they a premium brand or not? If they claim to be one, then even their base car should have a minimum quality I expect from a premium brand. Even Toyota has better quality stock speakers. Regardless, the Bavsound speakers are well regarded to be upgrade to the factory HK system from BMW so I don't expect it sound any better.

The Toyota you are comparing to likely had the higher audio option, also that comparison is quite irrelevant, because when you are on the highway, you have to turn up the toyotas audio to 100% to be able to hear anything because of all the noise from outside. This is not the case with Bmw becaude nosie insulation is superior. Also bavsound speakers are not necessarily an upgrade, just overhyped american product. Pretty much any other aftermarket speaker made for bmw is better. If you want to hear good audio, go test a Bmw with bang & olufsen or bowers & wilkins. That will be the best thing you have ever heard I can assure.
@@maxl7827 Lol. 1) I'm a long term audiophile. B&W and HK are overhyped marketed crap compared to the real stuff audiophiles listen to. So I know very well not to look at the price or common names like that before judging sound quality. 2) Premium brands don't cater to poor people. And even if they do, they're charging more than other brands which do a better job at a lesser cost.

I really need to know where you purchased the wiring harness for the speakers. I'm not resourceful enough to figure it out. I not going to use the Bavsound plug n play.
Love the audio upgrades on this bmw and the 3rd gen. I was hoping to see a side by side of the factory sub and aftermarket woofer. I think I saw a tiny coil on the factory sub while you were removing it. Hard to tell the difference without the seeing them both together. keep it up, man.
You should check out the Bimmer-Tech Alpha One speakers. Pretty legit.

If using the same logic re the weight offer speakers then my hand built Kevlar coned, aluminum basketed Focal K2 Elites must be utter crap compared to all the pressed steel basketed paper coned heavy magnet ones on the market.
As a comparison a Match MS42C mid range weights more than both the K2's

Magnet is of better quality than your average subwoofers. But yeah these often only have an xmax of 14mm. Also all Bmws have subwoofer box that breathes into the side skirts, so yes there is air for the subwoofer, designed for it.

No I had the Logic 7 Hifi. I've never checked out a harman kardon system

(Harman Kardon /Becker produces the „logic 7“-System)
Only the speakers are Harman kardon, the subs are the normal BMW subs

I went from stock hk to bavsound ghost speakers in my x5 to replacing again adding the match sub woofers /door speakers tweeters and center also adding a amp all I can say is what a difference twice the volume much better than bavsound ..also the Bavsound eats half oh the amps power to underpowered the factory speakers and then results in poor sound .not a fan of the Bavsound speakers so don't be fooled by the design of the speakers .the weight means nothing and there all marketing is why there are so popular there is nothing Quailty about them .

Totally a newbie to car audio. Judging a speaker on how much it weighs and not attempting to do an objective and scientific approach to comparing the two drivers leaves most people to believe that’s all there is to either. Misleading and inappropriate.

Do a little homework and it will go a long way. Technical specs are available for both woofers so start their and if you don’t know better, consult the manufacturer directly. I’m certain they are willing to help you present their product correctly.

With stock subs you turned off bass and treble to the min 7:50 and with bavsound you cranked it to the max and not showing eq settings:) so in your video we can hear stock is total sht without any bass how much bavsound payed you? Bavsound speakers don’t make much difference, power comes from the amp, speakers can’t do much in those tiny enclosures, so please remove your scammy video or post another one showing similar eq settings.

I don't expect someone who knows nothing about audio to understand but yes, custom made woofers with custom baskets, shallow suspenions and a very limited range of excursion in a reversed form factor do cost more to make.
