I am 68 years old, and never cook my yam on top of the stove theses yam look so yummy, I am going to try this way for Thanksgiving, thanks for sharing blessings.
Ok Cammira. I’m glad you brought up the stove vs oven. My mother always, and I mean always did them strictly in the oven, so I grew up thinking that was the way “we” all did it and that it produced the best result l. You said stove top was your favorite because it was shorter. Is that the only reason? If so, I’m gonna do the stove now too
Plot twist: try candied butternut squash. And if you guys have not had butternut squash, it is sweet when it is roasted or cooked off like this recipe here. And I find myself using butternut squash a lot for recipes like this. Give it a go!
Girl im wondering where they came form too?! haha Glory to God! on the road to 1M. Thank you so much!! I love the ppl that been rocking with me for a long time. I appreciate the love and support!
Hey Camirra 🤗 Now Ginger is definitely a new one for me and a lil bit of rum…come through with it. This is dessert for me not a side dish. Growing up my Grandmother 🙏🏾 would let me eat yams with abbig ol scoop of Vanilla ice cream after dinner.
lol no its not. i literally have been making this recipe for years. i dont even follow her recipes though i do know her name. i have posted variations of this same recipe for years on my channel.
@CamirrasKitchen she posted a similar recipe (8-9) years ago. I know that people's do borrow from others ideals. Just give them credit as well. That's all.
i didnt so i wont. idk what to tell you. there are literally tons of recipes all over the internet that are similar. i dont have time to double check the mine isnt like everyone else in the world. nor do i care. i just added rum to yams one day, realized it was good, then made a video. that being said, i have seen other ppl put rum or bourbon in yams. doesnt seem to be new
Looks delicious..😋😋
I normally cook them in the oven but seeing ur presentation and that sauce has me rethinking!
Ooh, thanks.
For cloves, allspice, and star anise, buy them wbole. Use a cheap coffee grinder when you need them. They last so much longer that way. 💙
Sis, you did ya’ thang with these🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thank you 🤗

Looks beautiful! Your recipe list doesn't list all the ingredients you used in the video.
really? im not sure what it doesnt list
I think you mentioned vanilla extract?
oh okay let me check!
You also mentioned ginger in the video. But it wasn't listed as well
thanks for catching that! fixed it!
If I used a less than a 1/4 cup rum will it lose it's flavor?
no
every new ingredient made me hungrier
My grans were the best. She did stove top. But when i do stove top. They turn to mush.
cut them slightly thicker and see if that helps
Cut them thicker and try not to stir them too much stirring breaks them up
I do them on the stove top. That oven is just too busy. ❌️⭕️
