Deep words from Timberland. He's actually right. Beats should have a voice and soul, changing the music culture. Dre, Timberland, Pharrell, Kanye, and Swiss is also my favourite. Although, I'll add Ne-yo as a producer as well especially in music movie soundtrack productions.

From what I heard, a lot of crazy shit happened with DeVante Swing in the Bassment Crew/Swing Mob. He was supposedly abusive towards his proteges, according to Stevie J. (Yes that Stevie J. from Love & Hip Hop, was a protege of DeVante's as well). Don't know if they ever got over it or still resent DeVante for that.
Timbalad, Magoo, Missy Elliot, Ginuwine, Tweet, Stevie J., Static Major & Playa, were a few members of Swing Mob.

Chimpunk soul samples with conscious lyrics, emo/melodic rap with autotune and rapper/producer combo (although that already existed I think he elevated it even more). Also want to add he kinda brought industrial hip hop to mainstream and influenced fashion couple of times as well.

Glad he gave respect to Kanye bc a lot of people seem to front on him as a producer and just talk bout how he crazy and this and that. Honestly producin means whole different thing in hip-hop vs other contexts, hip-hop you're composing the backbone of the song, in rock often times you're fiddling knobs and adjusting levels to make sure everything sounds good and throw in ideas here and there, unless you're an absolute genius like George Martin etc. My top 5 are prolly Kanye, Quincy Jones, George Martin, Teo Macero, and J Dilla.
