- Two Just Stop Oil protesters have been arrested after coating Heathrow’s Terminal 5 in orange paint as the environmental protesters continue to target airports.
The protest group said Phoebe Plummer and Jane Touil entered Heathrow shortly after 8.30am on Tuesday and painted the entrance hall to Terminal 5, as well as the departure boards in the departures lounge.
Police and security arrived on scene within minutes and proceeded to cordon off the area.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed two Just Stop Oil activists were arrested on suspicion of criminal damage following the protest.
The force said officers remain in the area to deal with any further offences.
On Monday Just Stop Oil protesters also tried to block departure gates at Gatwick Airport before they were arrested and removed.
Police responded to a report that protesters were demonstrating near the security entrance at the South Terminal in Gatwick Airport at around 8am on Monday.
Sussex Police said eight people were arrested on suspicion of interfering with public infrastructure, and no disruption was caused by the protests.
Passengers could be seen carrying their luggage over the protesters and the airport was not disrupted.

Make them clean it up.. also give them a permanent ban from any public transport area that means trains ,buses , airports. And also a prison sentence as well this is just getting ridiculous.

Protecting the environment is a very important topic, but I am sad and disappointed about what the Just Stop Oil doing. In my opinion, this is not the correct way to protest. I do not agree with their actions and I am shocked. ☹☹☹

How the hell did they even get in with canisters, the canisters could have easily been filled with something else. Nobody tried to stop them or even shout at them. They should receive a nice prison sentence like their stupid colleagues
They aren't in a restricted area there is no security checkpoint to get there

Airport security people annoy overstressed travellers, but they let these people do what they want? How did they even get in with that paint spray? It looks bulky and very evident. If this is what this charity is about, I would instead support fossil fuels so we have those organisations pay money to clean this up thru these guys.
Have you never been to an airport? This is LANDSIDE , not AIRSIDE. Nobody goes through security until after check-in.

The police took them away shortly afterwards.
Jail for minimum 19 years without Parole , maybe a little bit of education in prison will help
