📜 Video Description 📜
There are things in poker we know we don't know and then there are the unknown unknowns. Today Carrot Corner coach James Shea tells us about three of the common thought processes that are simply missing from the games and radars of most aspiring players. What exactly separates professional poker players from amateurs and how can you get closer to your goal of moving up in stakes?
Poker is hard
Godamn it's hard!
I’m hard
It's so unbelievably hard.
15" POKER HAAAAARRRRDDD
To me poker is easy... winning at poker is hard...you should see me get knocked out of a tournament... it's like I was born to lose
One of the best poker content creators of all time for sure. Keeps those vids comin!
the quote of Mikhail Tal in the end....
On the second one, if I understood correctly, what makes it a good raise candidate is not minding losing the equity (since it’s only a gutter) if you get reraised.
The last hand is very player dependent ... most regs at low stakes call the raise on the river with two pair, AK and even KJ
At 10:20 to like 10:46 very unbiased loook at his take but not real time play that Pete would execute. Makes for a Great coaching perspective 🎉
In the J10 hand when we click back the turn. Are we jamming river if called? Seems punty with the SPR. Being close to 1.
Are we really uncapped on the turn in the 56hh hand? In particular aren't we 3-betting KK pre?
the editor been cooking lately
Swear everyone is breaking even, and becoming coaches to squeeze the last remains out of poker now. Prove me wrong, not even being negative, I don't see proof of the opposite anywhere. Anywhere. Everyone you ask now days how they're doing, it's not "I'm crushing, look at my graph." It's, "Going through a downswing currently, and I don't want to share my graph."
Seriously, can anyone dispute this claim? Or are we all gonna act like it's not the case?

Ive been playing poker professionally for 15 years now and yeah we all understand that being results oriented isn't good but fk me if I'm watching you explain a hand for 5-8 minutes just show the fking result of the hand. I somewhat enjoy your content but would really enjoyed it if you just click two more buttons and show the damn result of the hand!
This is a hill Peter will die on, he wants to prove a point to his 'students'
so...just bluff every hand...got it...
AND BECAUSE IT WORKED THIS TIME ITs apparently good idea lol
Guys, please, I know you're trying to grow your channel. FOCUS ON YOUR AUDIO. The levels are totally mismatched!!
Dramatic much? Didn't even notice it myself til you pointed it out.
The KQ hand is for me the prime example of something that 99% of regs 100nl and below will just press call after that action and river block. No thought whatsoever about range definition and how we land on this river. In fact i think most of em would snap call a shove cos hero has hearts so block villains value range bla bla bla. Very cool vid, really good concepts discussed. Understanding your hand strength in various nodes and being able to turn possible value hands into bluffs is a skill we all need to work on.
Love the editing

this video should be named 3 THINGS that GTO bots do that regs dont
1. Fold
Some well dodgy results based thinking here. Reminds me of old poker training videos.
had a hard time hearing/understanding at times. would help to speak more slowly and clearly
I'll be smart enough to understand this someday
dude looks like robert de niro
What a great Monday for some poker coaching :D
so did he check or jam on the K8dd??
Good question. My impression is that he did from the discussion around the river. I don't think Peter looks at the comments so much anymore. But He is streaming today on Twitch at April 30 at 9am UK time. I'll ask him.
Its not important whether he actually jammed, hence why they don’t show the end result, the point of the review is that they’re telling you that you ~should~ jam on that river node due it being a relatively unbluffed spot
Jammed with K8 and got the fold
Pete I can’t believe you don’t like live poker. You are a damn hilarious and iconic poker player and no matter how much money i’d lose to you I would always sit and play with you if I ever had the chance. Much love 🥕
Great video. What a beast James.
Great work gentlemen!
All these players saying “I feel” when they analyze a hand are going to get left behind
I play at 2ct games because I cant invest much into that game. And these playes just woun't work. In the first hand they still call with K8, in 2nd hand they will continue with 10-8 and the 3rd one they still call A and you lose the hand
so my answere to your theory is: I'm not doing it because it wount work at my level.
but thanks for the content !
yeah for sure if you play 2ct game you can just forget about bluffing most opponents just value like a pig your good hand and you will be positif don't try nl 500 play in nl 2
