_Phantom_ was awesome. I know there's a faction that doesn't like it, but I think that's mainly the hardcore Broadway crowd that thinks the only way to see it is live on Broadway (even though most of them actually haven't), and they will never, ever, ever be satisfied with any movie version, even a recording of the Broadway cast themselves. For the rest of us, I thought it was an excellent movie version, and I love the singing and everything else they did with the movie. _P.S. I Love You_ is one of the very best romantic movies ever. @@fleamag - Exactly! Your voice and passion in Phantom makes me cry every time I watch it. As a person who was bullied and ostracised throughout my childhood and youth you help channel a LOT of all of those complicated and conflicting emotions.
Whether they had released Olympus Has Fallen before or after White House Down it would’ve dominated either way. White House Down feels like the parody of OHF.

I remember when I went to the cinema to watch The Grudge (horror film), and the 1st minutes I regret it, so my mom and I sneaked out and got in the next room, where fortunately, was playing The Phantom of the Opera. Was the best movie mistake ever, we loved that movie so much, and loved the feelings in Gerald's singing, so passionately and sincere. I still watch it whenever I can.
The bit where he says "if one person connects" in regards to the phantom. I literally got a text form my then boyfriend breaking up with me, while I was watching the film, in the same moment that he lets Christine go near the end of the film. The boyfriend had been someone I had been in love with my entire life and it absolutely crushed me. Through tears I was like "I know exactly how the phantom feels right now"
6:07 for me it sure did. It made me love musicals, buy the original book, fall in love with the overture, teach myself to sing , join the theater department at my school. The Vanishing is fantastic, but you should 100% see RocknRolla. It's an ensemble movie with a cast gathered before they became huge. It was intended to be a trilogy Guy Ritchie came up with, but with Butler, Idris Elba and Tom Hardy becoming megastars shortly after it was difficult to get them back and probably for a decent price.
Check out Mrs Brown if you want to see his big swinging peen. OMG it’s big when he should’ve had shrinkage in the cold water. Hit FF and rewind many times. 😛🤩🥰😏

As a person who was bullied and ostracised throughout my childhood and youth you help channel a LOT of all of those complicated and conflicting emotions.
Olympus Has Fallen was much superior than White House Down.
Whether they had released Olympus Has Fallen before or after White House Down it would’ve dominated either way. White House Down feels like the parody of OHF.
Well Channing Tatum isn't exactly known for much more than being a stupid meathead, Gerard actually plays the cerebral character that works for that role.
I love that movie, i don't why people love white house down more than an action packed olympus has fallen
I agree, although I think WHD has a more comedic element; same subject matter but essentially different styles of film.
One of the best movies ever !!
Possibly the best actor of my generation. So talented and so real. Lovable and respected for every role he has done. P.S. I Love You helped me to accept my life as a widow and learn to be happy. Thank you, Gerard Butler.
I definitely agree with your comments about his acting ability shows off his acting chops. He is very talented and anyone who says otherwise is not seeing what his fans see. Love ❤ Gerry Butler

Absolutely love Gerard as an actor. He's in a lot of my favorite movies. Such an underrated actor.
Thanks for the support and love.

His name is Gerard, not Gerald.

And i couldn’t help but connect with the feeling of loneliness and constant rejection.
Guess it was worth the effort in that case :)
I think we’re the same person ngl.

Gerard Butler would be a perfect actor for next Guy Ritchie gangster movie. I even know a name for it already. The Real RockNRolla.
He was perfect for the first RockNRolla. Why not the second.
Rocknrolla was supposed to be a trilogy
@@BrianWright70 Probably fell through because the Wild Bunch all got too famous. Butler, Hardy, and Elba all went on to be in a bunch of movies, Mark Strong too.

@@casey-capri2914 everyone hears differently sounds and interpretations of them. So, Gerard Butler singing to your ears is noise. His singing to my ears is music. I loved Gerard Butler in Reign of Fire, Lara Croft, Timeline, Phantom of the Opera, 300, Law Abiding Citizen, Coriolanus, Machine Gun Preacher, Den of Thieves.
I should probably check out Mrs. Brown, Harrison's Flowers, Dear Frankie, & The Vanishing.
Finally someone mentions Reign of Fire, honestly feels like he was playing himself in that film, such a good duo between him and Christian Bale's character, they felt like brothers.
