I was interested hearing his comments on Boogie Nights after he's gone on record before saying he regretted doing it. Even in this interview, while he says he enjoyed the experience you can tell he seems to have some reservations. Personally, I think boogie Stands out at as his best work by far.
Calum I agree. Even his body language with crossed arms he has reservations talking about it. Shame really as your right it’s his best role. 10 times better role than The departed which he has like 10 mins screen time. Love boogie nights. Fav film all time. Watched it at least 20 times
Shooter is my favorite movie. A lot of it is because of nostalgia. I watched the movie religiously as a kid. I'd say I've seen it 50 plus times. And honestly I can still sit down and watch it all the way through today. It is simply a great movie.
Definitely. It’s interesting to look at where he started. All of those years ago when he was Marky Mark, I don’t think anyone could’ve called this. I mean he is really, very talented. A great actor. One of the finest!
Brett Yarborough boogie nights was original while the departed was a nearly identical remake of an Asian film. Boogie nights is a deeper film with a deeper story that’s more investing about a group of people we normally don’t take one second to think about or already have a preconceived notion about.
His delivery oscillates between seemingly bored with the drudgery of having to do these things & enjoyment. I always find that. I like that he told honest stories here.
Wait, seriously that’s how?! Did Costigan leave instructions to? Because I highly doubt she knew Dignam or knew enough of him and Costigan’s relationship to. Wow. Now I know.
How can you skip: perfect storm, italian job, four brothers, shooter, pain and gain, and shits and giggles i wanna hear him talk about rockstar and transformers 😂
True story my father 1sgt Cruz was the first sergeant who's unit they used to film Renaissance man In fort Jackson south Carolina got to meet Danny devito and Gregory Hines and most awesome person Mark Wahlberg he played football with us on base he was lightning fast I mean really all 3 were so freaking awesome. Great memory I was 14 when my Dad was on hospice last year we talked about this experience it always made us laugh thanks for being so awesome Mark I got to watch them film a scene the one where Danny and Gregory get into a shouting match the drill sergeant that broke it up was a real drill sergeant he won drill sergeant of the quarter i believe got the honor of being the one to break it up.
This wasn't all the movies he starred in though. I respect him so much, his a brilliant actor, businessman, family man and take care of his friends too. Yet remains humble, just an all around nice guy🙏🏽
I know they don't have time to list every film he's in, and this may not have been a huge hit, but I really liked one of his recent ones, "Instant Family". That was a really good film -- fun and emotional at the same time.
How could they skip over so many other films of his? Planet of the Apes? Rock Star? The Perfect Storm?! Pain and Gain?! Gahhhh there's too many I wish I could have heard him discuss.
If you like "The Departed" (and why wouldn't you? It's a masterpiece), make sure you watch the original movie it's based on; "Infernal Affairs". It's also really good. On a sidenote, I enjoyed "Spenser Confidential".
Watched a couple of MWs films this week during lockdown, wasn’t aware of the mans backround. The Fighter was excellent, I’d seen the HBO doc on Lowell years ago so to put some shine onto the community (and play a warrior like Ward too), classy. Congratulations on your success #hardwork
He was the only thing good in The Big hit. When I saw that I knew he was a good actor. I can see them skipping something like Max Payne but no mention of Rock Star or Shooter or a great movie like The Perfect storm???
It gets confusing when GQ -and Vanity Fair do this exact same thing
The Latest And The Greatest indeed it does
There's 4 channels that do it
they're both owned by the same publisher that's a factor as to why they seem so similar.
With the same people.
I almost didn't watch it because I thought I'd seen it earlier today.
The Other Guys is criminally underrated .
Aim for the bushes
100%. I can watch that every week and never tire
I love that movie. I’m a peacock you gotta let me fly!
@@lisareyes3194
Hate to break it to you but peacocks don't fly.
They fly a little bit.
Yea as much as a penguin.
That whole scene had me dying
The Other Guys is both Will and Mark’s funniest film, unpopular opinion, but I stand by it.
i’m kinda sad that he didn’t talk about his role in The Lovely Bones because that movie was truly beautiful
Oh that movie was nice but sad af
@J C af af
I feel the same way. That movie was so emotionally shaking, I would think it would be spoken about.
@@monicamartina6686 it was so real to my 10 or 11 year old brain. The acting was really good.
that movie sucked lol

“Shooter” was is another good action thriller
That movie was great and I love it.
Shooter is my favorite movie. A lot of it is because of nostalgia. I watched the movie religiously as a kid. I'd say I've seen it 50 plus times. And honestly I can still sit down and watch it all the way through today. It is simply a great movie.
The shooting jargon and weapon choices were also great
Couldn't believe that one was left out. I think of great Mark Wahlberg movies and that's top of the list
Wish he talked about Pain and Gain. That movie is a hidden gem!
Man that movie is so good. I'm surprised it didn't do well in the theaters.
I just wish I could track it down somewhere on a streaming service
@Generation Sensitive it's on Amazon
One of the worst films ever. Michael Bay is probably the worst director being taken seriously today.
SwagNugget thank you for that enlightening suggestion... but Pain and Gain isn’t on Netflix.
They should do Christopher Nolan or Steven Spielberg or Wes Anderson
Steven Spielberg 👍
Will happen soon, these guys have to actively market their films after major markets close due to coronavirus
Edgar Wright?
Mac 1 Jack Nicholson?
Do people really like Wes Anderson movies? They're so pretentious.
He really has been in some amazing movies with amazing actors! That has to be a sign of a solid actor himself.
Definitely. It’s interesting to look at where he started. All of those years ago when he was Marky Mark, I don’t think anyone could’ve called this. I mean he is really, very talented. A great actor. One of the finest!
Was great in perfect storm
I like how it just skips over The Happening
"Do you want to talk about 'The Happening'?" "What? No."
@@Sonnnay I have a feeling they did a segment on it but had to cut it, out fear of being sued
whaaat? No.
Max Payne
Chris Sonnenberg lmao that “What? No.” Is so perfect such a ridiculous movie
I love how with almost every great movie he's made, he was at first like "nah I don't want to do it".
The guy wanted to turn down Paul Thomas Anderson and Martin Scorsese
His early years look like a shorter John Cena
OH MY GOD.
Dollar store John Cena
“Mark Wahlberg? I look like if Mark Wahlberg ATE Mark Wahlberg!”
-John Cena
Just A Dio.... THAT'S who it is!!! 🤣👍
Sorry John Cena is a Mark Wahlberg ripoff right down to the basketball jersey and the chain around his neck ⛓
"I never made full-blown comedy"
What is are you talking about Mikey, what about "The Happening" then?
Mark Wahlberg's best performance was on The Graham Norton show when he kept flipping over the lady in the red chair during her story.
Wasn't that Matt Damon?
Lone Survivor, that one got me.
Massive respect to the men who lost their lives.
Its one of my favourite movies. Could write an essay about why I love it so much and why this movie is actually pretty educational.
Try the murph challenge
Taylor Kitsch was fantastic in that movie as well.
*I'M A PEACOCK, YOU GOTTA LET ME FLY!*
Best line xD
surprised he didnt talk about his role in transformers
shows how insignificant that saga has been
I grew up watching the Transformer and I like dumb action movie with big explosion and I dont even like a single one Transformer movie.
@@Reudze first two are pretty fun, third is meh and after that it just gets really confusing and bad.
@@BatziBoah ah, they'll keep going. Michael Bay has officially left the franchise.
I loved the first one. Anything after that is just...pointless.
How dare they skip over Four Brothers!!!!
All time Fav!!!
Aw man I clicked on this video because I wanted to hear about Four Brothers :(
It's one of my favourite Mark Wahlberg movies
THAT MOVIE IS TRASH, WEATHER IN THAT MOVIE MADE ME EMO
The movie Fear is super underrated. One of my favorite thrillers ever made
Boogie Nights will always be his best movie!
@Brett Yarborough no
@Brett Yarborough no it's boogie nights
Don't be a dork
Brett Yarborough boogie nights was original while the departed was a nearly identical remake of an Asian film. Boogie nights is a deeper film with a deeper story that’s more investing about a group of people we normally don’t take one second to think about or already have a preconceived notion about.
His range of emotion in Boogie Nights was wonderful.
I rewatched The Other Guys and forgot how great that movie was! So funny!
Me too!! I watched it yesterday after watching Spenser Confidential 😄🤩
He is not only an extremely talented actor but he gets sexier as he gets older.
Men tend to get sexier when they get older. No surprises here :D
@@klaudiamagyar1088 ..some do..some not quite so much. But this one..lord yes.
I wish I was tearing it up in da club with Mark and Leo back in the 90’s.
MrBdiddypop my god, no kidding. I can’t imagine the girls they ran through.
that was my teen dream!
This is Mahky Maahhk, he's wicked smaaht!
The character he played in The Departed was my favorite I've ever seen him in
I Like Turtles the ending of that movie is my all time favorite

He may not have been warm and fuzzy, but he always did the right thing
Boogie Nights is by far the highest quality movie he's appeared in...probably his best acting, too.
So true
Just watched Boogie Nights last night, amazing movie.
His delivery oscillates between seemingly bored with the drudgery of having to do these things & enjoyment. I always find that. I like that he told honest stories here.
Basketball Diaries, Fear..
My eyes.. Fixated on him ,Glued to the Screen.. Phenomenal Actor.
What about The Yards and We Own The Night, his two movies with Joaquin Phoenix?
Yeah and he’s great in We Own The Night.
two awesome under-rated movies.
And Max Payne
@@tylercouture216 um
That true story trio of Lone Survivor, Deepwater Horizon, and Patriots Day are some of the best movies made this century.
Lol nah, Boogie Nights is up there though
No "Four Brothers", "Shooter", or Italian Job"? What a disappointment!
I could listen to him talk about I Heart Huckabees and Boogie Nights for hours.
Marky Mark...so glad he did the Departed, and did not turn down that script! Love that movie. His character helped make that movie great.
The Other Guys is so great! I love the dynamic between Alan, Terry, and Gene...I mean captain...I mean captain Gene.
Fear is his best movie hands down. Dude probably didn’t even need to act for that movie 🤣🤣🤣

Caroline Skidgel whats your favorite part lol
@@Thatguy55595 may i answer? his speech at the door at the end: "SO LET ME IN THE FKG HOUSE"

Really digging how they passed The Happening like it never happen.
What? No!
No The Big Hit huh?
Vanity Fair literally always dropping the ball.
Bro!!! My exact thoughts. Thats a classic
I love the Big Hit
scrolled to find this, that movie was so awesome. The trace busta busta
Absolutely! so ridiculously great!
Mark Wahlberg: What John Cena thinks he looks like when he’s acting...except you can’t see him.
I respect Mark’s work ethic like crazy
Kjel Bennett I respect that you respect that. Respect.
Why did they skip The Happening? That's why I played this video. :(
Lol I think we know why 😁
Pobably bcuz that movie was a flop 😂 it was a good concept of a movie but wasn’t executed right
The Basketball Diaries broooo , I don't care if you've heard it before its a CLASSIC.
These carreer break down are really good. Thank you.
Me staring at his biceps the whole time
What about The Italian Job? I love that movie so much!
Rebecca Bain The original was ten times better.
Leo was one of the people really against him being in Basketball Diaries, but changed his tune once he actually saw him in the movie.
As a Brighton guy I do love that he has a genuine accent but loves to turn it up to 11
His performance in I Heart Huckabees is sooo underrated.
My favourite character in that movie!
He was so good in The Departed and Fear. Even Pain & Gain!
No Rockstar? And, I'm not even being funny.
I was thinking the same thing. I really would have loved to hear him talk about that and the big hit.
That is definitely my favorite movie.
Hunter O' Tails very underrated
*_The Basketball Diaries_* is probably my favorite movie he was in ..
Bryan Kelly basketball diaries was AWESOME, but Boogie Nights is where it's at lol
I'm here for the other guys and Four Brothers

Nothing happened in 2008.
Max Payne I cant believe they left that out
@@tylercouture216 We all know why they left it out. It was entertaining, but not fitting of the type of story these clips are about.

I still wonder to this day how Dignam knew about Matt Damon’s character at the end.
Because vera farmigs sends him the tape!
