      Every girl that i have told to watch that movie and to tell me what they think always come back telling me how they were so drawn to David McCall and how they desired and wanted him despite being freaked out by him and some of them even told me they would love it if he stalked them 😐
      I have yet to meet a girl who can watch the entire movie and not feel anything at all towards Mark Whalberg .

      The second Scorsese asks you to be in his movie, there is no other option but to say “yes” immediately. Even if the role is small, you can’t turn down one of the greatest directors to ever live.

      Yeah I watched the Departed much later in life, and I was blown away by how Mark almost loomed over Matt and Leo while being a side character. Very impressive.

    I've watched The Other Guys so many times I can quote almost the entire movie. Mark Wahlberg was brilliant, but really the entire cast and the writing were perfect. It's a perfect 10 for me.

      @@SkullAngel002 I just said why. He came in around the 4th movie after it thr franchise had already made over a billion dollars. Ted was a new concept and new movie. It would take a bit more convincing to make a movie about a weed smoking teddy bear than a series that is already respected and known. Be honest btw Micheal Bay transformers had some of the best cgi and fight scenes ever.

      @@painhurtssometimes2185 Exactly it's public knowledge the box office successes of the first 3 Transformers movies clearly showed the concept of transforming robots wasn't silly (and Wahlberg knew this). But a comedy about a talking teddy bear is? That's the point I was making. Also it's been proven this genre works. Look at Mister Ed (6 seasons), Alvin & the Chipmunks, Garfield, Dr. Dolittle, Guardians of the Galaxy, Planet of the Apes, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, etc

    His role in TED is a masterwork. He's such a dour, sullen personality, that you can't imagine him playing such a role, but he does it effortlessly.

    When you think of Mark, you don't think of him as having a particularly prolific or significant set of films behind him, probably because of the type of character he tends to play, but he's done some pretty high quality projects with great actors and excellent directors... This was fairly interesting :)

      For me he kind of ruins it. I believe DiCaprio had to turn it down due to titanic but he would have been a lot better in my opinion.

    GQ is the tonight show of interviews. I like how they show the movie name instead of asking. The actor gets to talk as long as they want not censored, not interrupted

    Even being _considered_ for a role in a Martin Scorsese movie is something most actors can only dream of. I've got nothing against Wahlberg but the guy isn't exactly Daniel Day Lewis.

    Four brothers is a classic and probably my favorite movie ever, I kinda wish he woulda mentioned Contraband because I felt like his character in that movie was extremely genuine and authentic. Nevertheless he is easily one of my favorite actors and his versatility in film in amazing.

    That naming the white trash names scene in Ted is legendary. In some ways I think comedy is even harder than drama. When you think about method actors Mark isn't the first name to come to mind, but he always brings it big time. I'm glad he didn't mention the Transformers...that was just a paycheck.

    The Departed is such an incredible movie. For some reason it's easy to over look Mark when thinking of great actors but he really has done some incredible performances. And I love his comedic roles.

    The firecracker scene in Boogie Nights was so epic! Mark’s stare and Thomas Jane describing the safe under the bed. Just awesome!!

    He stole all the scenes he was in, in "The Basketball Diaries", that's what got me hooked on him. Even when he's in bad films, he's always interesting to watch. He's great in "Fear" and "Boogie Nights". Also really heartbreaking in the torture scene in "Three Kings"

    i had a instructor at a trucking school to get my CDL, he used to drive trucks for movies, for example he drove optimus prims in transformers.
    He was doing a movie and mark was in it as well, well basically he said the guy who was taking care of mark (brings drinks etc) caught the football him and his freinds were throwing around and mark flipped on him and treated him like trash, well my instructor told mark that he better run fast (he was in charge of the explosives in the movie as well) and mark got scared and wanted him off the movie, never happened though and i dont know if the story is true or not, ive heard mark is a good person and i hope that it didnt happen or if it did he apologized to the guy.
    either way his movies are great i decided to share this because i remembered my instructor telling us this

      I agree with the first part, but the 2nd part yes he is serious, but at times here he comes across as a bit arrogant/bored depending on the film he's talking about. He for sure knows his craft, but not laid back person at all...

    Ted is really a movie for Mark that comes out at the right time with the right people and it was really needed for him to be attached to a big comedy movie like this. It's a match made in heaven.
