Just having the conversation on the range this morning about how 'a 30.06 just won't work for a long range gun'. Thanks again for showing the world that it will!

I have a 300win, 338edge, and in the past I had a 270wsm and a 300rum. But still my absolute favorite rifle is my 30-06 built on a 98k. I call it my meat axe

Seems like the ol’ 30-06 is still a viable option for whatever is needed.
It also appears that the pair behind the shot makes the difference, great teamwork!

I wouldn't try it with my 80 year old 06. I've taken white tails out to 300 yards. Nice to see someone stretching it out there. Thank you Mark and Sam.

I recently Frankenstein together a savage 30-06 with a 30 inch criterion bull barrel yes it’s tax driver and it’s so damn heavy has hardly any recoil. And being it’s a dirty hot six it feeds like a dream from the magazine oh yeah!

Wow, thats a heck of a long shot with a 30-06. Does the brass manufacturer impact the rounds performance? Or do you just get more loads using premium brass?
What do you mean by "moved the lands forward 0.1"? Is the bullet 0.1 off the lands? How far do you normally stay off the lands? Is it different for each caliber or even per bullet & powder combo in each caliber?
I'm currenly .25" off the lands using my 6.5mmCM Ruger Precision Rifle.
I can consistently shoot sub MOA groups at 600 yards. I'm happy with that, but thinking about moving the bullet closer to the lands to see if I can get an even tighter group.
How close can I safely get to the lands? I'm using Hogdcon H4350 power with Hornady 140gr ELDM bullets.

Did u use a reamer to push the lands forward? If so did u buy it or make it, im in south africa and want to cut my throat longer as my fast twist barrel has a short chamber, limiting me to the lighter/shorter bullets
