I remember when I used to call darth vader dark vader
TheApexPlayer who didn't omg
Funny enough, I'm French and Darth Vader is officially translated as "Dark Vador" here...
TheApexPlayer I got into fights with kids who said Dark Vader
I believe the name "Darth Vader" is german, and it translates to "Dark Father".
The Yam Industry not even close. Dark means "Dunkel" in german and father is "Vater"
"How does Luke fix his home?" LMAO. I imagine Luke just letting out a long sigh, grabbing a broom, and starting to clean.
And then the credits role and the movie ends XD that would be hilarious
Luke was the original broom boy.
What about the two charred corpses
"How does Luke fix his home?"
I wonder if he knew his Uncle and Aunt died. Gotta worry about the place you lived in first.
and theres the question that started the plot
Well considering the two charred corpses laying on the ground in front of the entrance to their farm, I'm guessing he came to that conclusion.
Who his father
Jawas?
Damn, he figured out who Luke's father is already? Smart kid.
No he got it wrong, he thinks Dark Vader is Luke's father, he'll never suspect Darth Vader
yup.... the force is strong with this one.
"Truly wonderful the mind of a child is."
@@shadowman7307 yes - quite amasingest
He has a high level of midichlorians mmmmhhhh...
I cannot wait to expose my child to star wars in the coming years.
+MrRepzion i supose you'll have a whole room dedicated to it
+MrRepzion LOL u think a woman would sleep with you? fucking loser
+gabzpiano Ⓥ Seriously, women prefer RUclips assholes. Proven.
I love your content!
Make sure you show him the originals, rather than the special ed version. Google "Star Wars Despecialized Edition."
0:05 lol "Luke Skywalker's showing his belly"
God, I remember arguing with over "Darth vs. Dark" in elementary school.
+David Borgos Pretty sure as a tot I used to be 100% convinced his name was dark vader as well. It just made sense...
+inmaniak As does "Light saver" in a way. Used by the good guys, it helps defeat the dark guys and save the nice (light) ones.
It's all puns. Darth Vader is a dark invader, Sidious is insidious, Maul is a mauler, Tyrranus is tyranical, so on.
La Creatura My little cousin used to think his name was star wars, as every franchise is named after the main character. Used to freak me out.
In france the official translation for Darth Vader is Dark Vador ^^
and Dartn is always Dark here
Choked me up man, i miss my father. He took me to see it when I was little. We loved it.
May the force be with him
Nah brah he is the force man.
My dad showed me the original trilogy on vhs much like this kid and he's dad. He's one with the force now.
I'm the one showing my dad star wars
Ya know this is what I wanna be for my grandson! (I’m the nerdy grandma)…show him the way for all the cool stuff. Force guided…Let him become an awesome dude.
You see!? This is the right way to raise a son, hehe! No seriously man the reaction of your son is priceless. Congratulations, you created an amazing video and amazing kid. I hope that JJ Abrams and the people behind 'The Force Awakens' see this.
+AC Figueroa Thanks!
+Dota2funny Actually, I like the idea I saw a couple of months back. The best order, apparently, is 4-5-2-3-6. TPM, really, isn't _necessary_, and, for first timers, watching AOTC and ROTS as "flashbacks" after TESB's Big Reveal™ keeps from spoiling the Big Reveal™. I'm going to have to do this some time.
+David Loewen ~ It's called 'Machete order'. My son and I watched in this sequence before our trip to Star Wars Weekend. I thought it worked out well.
Original movies, might as well skip everything else.
5t412463663245 if you watch the prequels before the original trilogy then you spoil the plot twist of episode 5
"How does Luke fix his home?" is the greatest question ever.
I just have one question after watching this video.
Where's Luke Skywalker?
Watching Star Wars with my kid is one of the most emotional moments of my life, as a Mom and as a SW fan.
My favorite questions are "who's driving?" and "how does luke fix his home"
Hahahaha
The best part was when it just blurred into "Where- when- wa- wh- who- wh- whe- who- how-" LOL
That's the most adorable thing ever.Yeah Dark Vader may have been a good name and also Light saver.WOW
I could not stop smiling.
Damn those onions!
Greatest thing I've ever seen ever. Dad of the century
"What about meeeeeeeeeee" haha amazing
OMG!!! You must be SOOOOOO proud!!!!! It brought me to tears of hope and pride and I don't even know your kid. He's so cute and sensible! I loved the video. This was amazing, really. Thanks a million for sharing it.
I wish I get a moment like that if I have a son.
Or daughter!!
Samwise Gamgee! I find your lack of faith disturbing. I'm a female and I've been a huge Star Wars fan all my life. We do exist.
try to help & volunteer
I’ll be fine it’s either Star Wars or the MCU
I'm going to introduce my kids to star wars
that's amazing man. I told my 2 year old just the other day, that he was lucky. that he gets to see star wars, rocky movies, etc etc for the first time yet..
If I ever have a son, I hope he'll be exactly like this kid. He's so adorable!
clapping at the end! I remember going to see this when I was 7 years old, and everyone in the cinema stood up, clapped and cheered....I remember exactly where I sat, and what I ate - couldn't tell you about any other time in my life in such detail.
Hidden onions here :) That's superb.I noticed Americans really care about Han Solo shooting first, here in Spain nobody even comments, that's a normal thing since this is a movie and the alien is threatening him. The kid really enjoyed the film and you let him his space to decide to love it or not. Good job.
+SraRocknRoll I care. Han shot first!
+SraRocknRoll haha George Lucas' reasoning behind the change is just silly. I mean, Han's life was being threatened....I think he was justified in shooting first. He didn't need to make that change.
+Jason Bergie yeah i mean how the fuuuu is greedo going to miss he is a PRO
+SraRocknRoll That's not true at all xD, we REAAALLY DO care in here about Han Solo shooting first... GREEDO. SHOT. FIRST.
+SraRocknRoll I live in America and I don't give a damn. I'm WAY too into movies, but people need to get a damn life if that bothers them.
My son just turned 16, and I can't quite decide if I'm more looking forward to _finally_ seeing a live-action Star Wars movie in the theater with him, or if he's more looking forward to seeing it with me. Makes me proud. :-)
I cried at the end. Damn onions! Awesome to see the love for Star Wars be passed on to a new generation. It is truly remarkable.
Love the kid's reaction when the Death Star goes KABOOM!!!
Holy cow, it's easy to mock us older fans for taking STAR WARS so seriously (I do it too), but I actually weeped along with him.
His face lit up from the death Star blowing up in two different ways and I felt that
Tyler Loconte What a wonderfully intelligent comment. I’m glad you enjoyed it.
What a great video man, thanks for sharing. My dad use to rent and copy VHS tapes for us, his 3 sons, throughout the 80's and 90's. We amassed a huge library (literally, I mean you remember how bulky those dang things were!) The magic though was how he would splice out any scenes with full nudity or bad gore from the not so kid friendly films and insert random clips from our boring home videos! I can proudly say I watched a none traumatizing version of The Terminator from start to finish with my dad and older brothers when I was just 6 years old. Loved every second of it!! Even the weird motel scene at the end when Reese and Sarah go from making bombs, to hugging, to a sudden cut to me and my brothers opening Christmas presents for about 40 seconds ;). Great man right there as well as father. Similar to you it looks like. Rest assured that kid will never forget about getting to watch Star Wars for the first time with his ol' dad.
That's amazing
Beautiful things like this makes me miss my dad.
I'll love you, dad. Always.
NOW...onward to Empire Strikes Back!!!
My daughter, Zoey, loved watching your son watching Star Wars for the first time! She's 3 and a half and loves watching Star Wars with her daddy. I was hoping to post a video response so she could express her excitement herself, but I can't figure out how to do that in mobile. Great work dading!
i like how he immediately guesses correct when he asks who luke's father is
This is how I'm going to raise my children. Except I'll use the Despecialized Editions.
Wait ... you have different editions of your kids?! o.0
Garrett Hicks I got the originals too still awesome I do like the updated ones too but classic can’t go wrong
@@Elnis888 Holy shit xD
@@Buckeye7Gaming We actually have the original editions on VHS at home. I wish they would just upscale them to 1k or 4k HD and ditch all the meaningless junk they added in the "special" editions.
@@hakont.4960 whats the hate on the newer versions? Just curious. I watched the VHS tapes with my mom as a kid, turning me into a huge star wars fan for life. I'd like han to shoot and only han to shoot. But what other reasons for the OGs? Im sure i just havent paid enough attention specifically to EVERY change.
Awesome! My son turned six the year that RotJ was released. The local theaters were running IV and V in the weeks leading up to it. I couldn't wait for my son to see A New Hope, one of my all-time favorite movies, for the first time, on the 'big screen' no less. (I was actually pregnant with him when it was released in 1977.) Unlike your son, he didn't ask any questions, he just sat there mesmerized the entire time. He was so excited when it was over that we bought another ticket and watched it again right away. To this day it is one of his favorite memories, and he has been a die-hard fan ever since. Last year, I treated him to his first Star Wars Weekend at DHS. We were like two little kids running around among Storm Troopers, being 'scavenged' by Jawas, having our picture taken with Darth Vader and Darth Maul and the likes. It was so great. Thanks for posting this, I really enjoyed it. May the force be with you and your son!
Mad props to your son for sitting still long enough to appreciate the film. I am a huge cinephile and want so badly to share many movies with my nephews (9yo twins and a 4 yo) but even the older ones simply will not pay attention to anything for longer than 5 minutes. They've "watched" Star Wars and know more about it than me, but I doubt they could tell you the story.
+Dustin Rodriguez I have clearly been the most fortunate dad and uncle ever -- my (now 26 year old) son has always been the best movie watching partner in the world. When we saw the Lion King - in the theater - he sat in my lap the whole time - laughing, crying, and saying "Dad, they're just like you and me" during the Simba/Mufasa scenes. We watched Star Wars on video tape over and over.
My nephews have been critiquing movies ever since I watched SW with them 14 years ago.
Omg this has to be the sweetest video! I am going to share this with my sons. I loved the way he called him Dark Vader and that he called it the Life saver. This is adorable, what a great dad! This channel shouldn't be called How to Be a Dad, it is how to be an awesome Dad! You are doing it right!
Luminya M my mother called him once Black Vader
He may not know it yet, but when you had your dad moment at the binary sunset, he had just witnessed the greatest scene in cinema history. One day he will come back to this video and realize why you captioned it as a Dad moment, and one can only hope that this becomes a family tradition. Lovely video my friend
Without me knowing it would be, this video of the experience has become a sort of heirloom for him. I'm glad you liked it.
That little "The force wil be with you, always" lipsync at the end was epic, i can't recall how many times i've done that with the star wars films.
Okay this video deserves way more views... What a dad, what a son, what a video
There is something magical about Star Wars which make that even more than 40 years later, it's still a dream machine for kids!
As a lot of comments here said, your son's reaction is priceless.
when/if i have a son im gonna give him the best childhood. i cant wait to show him all the pop culture movies and all that, gonna be the best
Oh man... that kid is amazing. You must be so proud of him
So so proud. He's amazing.
The Dad: Says Luke is the only one left.
Wedge: Am I a joke to you?
"How does Luke fix his home?"
Duct Tape. And lots of it. :P
I've also watched it with my kid (8) a month ago and he also was amazed and asked a bazillion questions :) It's so fun to watch a movie you've enjoyed as a kid with your own kid all these years later :)
i wish my kids could react like this one day when i have them haha
Great question for a kid (and for us) "How do we learn how to use the Force?" (I want to know too!)
That was adorable haha I can't wait to have a kid and show them Star Wars for the first time!
23 years ago I did the same thing with my dad! Well done buddy!
I think all of us exposed to Star Wars as children use to say ‘Dark Vader’ and ‘Light Saver’ 😂
I like how he said Han shot first after showing Greedo shooting first 😂😂😂, at least you tried.
The force's strong in this little one...👏👏👏
I guessed 48 questions. Low-balled it spectacularly.
2:36 That's how I felt in 1977 when I was 10 years old. Good job capturing these moments, Dad.
The look on his face when the Death Star blew up made me laugh.
The original trilogy really is magic, especially in the eyes of a child. I remember watching it when I was his age and having the same reaction.
Feels :D Yep, me too, remembering the moment with my son.
My favorite thing he said was "Did... Only one left??" it's so funny!
2:42 And that feeling never goes away :)
"Tha amazingest thing ever..." :-) Good response. Show him The Phantom Menace and count his tears. Just to see if they outweigh his questions.
Sebastian Ranch He's a child. I thought it was good when I was his age. They don't have bad acting detectors.
Yeah, I watched the prequels before the originals when I was about 7 and I absolutely loved them to death. :D
This made me cry. It reminded me of my father. Even though I was all into Barbies and playing dress up, Star Wars is something me and my dad bonded over. I remember in the early 90's my dad got his first big screen tv. He then showed the Star Wars trilogy to me and I was obsessed. Such an amazing moment between father and son. This is too cute 💜
I can't wait to show Star Wars to my son in a few years 💜
aww I wanted to see his reaction when Han came in to save Luke. Yeeeeeeaahhhoooooo!!!
Duuuuude I got my own onions when that Two Suns theme kicked in. Not only is it the most beautiful soundtrack piece ever, your kid was ENAMORED. That is nearly impossible to do with a six-year-old.
I'm glad you created this moment with your kid and let the world see it. Ugh. Much love to you both! ENJOY EPISODE VII!
I have soooo many happy feelings right now! OOOOO!!! :D
Thanks for making this video for us all!
It's so sweet that you're showing your son the epic awesomeness of Star Wars. You are raising your kids right. 👍
That was absolutely the freaking best!
Kids ask soooo many questions, but they're so adorably innocent.
It was the "most amazingest thing I ever saw" too. I was 11 in '77.....saw it with MY dad in the theater. It was a game changer for me too. Great vid!
Kid: asks question before anybody shows up Me:This is gonna be a long one
When I show this to my kids, I'm not gonna give them anything to go off of. I'm just gonna show it to them the same way my dad first showed it to me.
Michael Shipman You better do it when they’re in diapers, man. Because spoilers are evvveeeeerrrrrywhere.
this actually made me think about wanting to become a dad..... that was awesome! awesome kid!
How the heck does he know the name of Tatooine on sight, having never seen Star Wars, and being 6?! They don't even mention it in the movie! Clearly this kid has grown up in the right house.
I am doing this when I have kids. adorable and awesome.
The look on your sons face when he saw the death star blow up.....
Really wish I could forget star wars just to be able to experience those moments all again :)
The Ultimate Feel-Good Dad Moment: when you watch Star Wars with your kid for the very first time.
I’m excited for the day I get to show my future kids all my favorite movies and shows 😭❤️
That's some mighty parenting :)
Best father ever. I never had a father, so I had to learn the ways of the force on my own. Never stopped loving star wars to this day. :)
Who is That?
It's Obiwan Kenobi, man.
Priceless.
this is good, this will prepare me for my future with kids.
the questions never stop while watching a movie with a son or daughter.
This is so cute I can't stand it. Thank you for posting this video.
I called lightsabers 'lifesavers' for the first 4 years of my life
I hate myself.
What a great video. Had me smiling all the way through. And yes, my eyes did almost leak.
I love his reaction when the death star blow up. ^^
But no, not all the bad guys died.
1:08 son: who's his father? Dad: Well... 😉😊
1:11 son: it's darth vader... Dad: 🙁😐
"Light Saver" haha adorable kid!
Awesome! I'd give anything to have a video of the first time my son watched SW with me. Keep it up, you're doing a great job as Dad!
oh my god you son's reaction is so so so priceless!! lol I wanna be like you when I have a son that would be awesome.
My dad showed me Star Wars for the First time….
He paid the price for creating a Star Wars Obsessed Daughter.
We're seeing the midnight premiere on the 17th of December
“How does Luke fox his home?”
Great, now I am imagining Luke picking up the fire extinguisher
Your son is amazing!!!
all the feels watching that :) and i LOVED his questions :)
Awesome. God I wish I could have a moment like that. Beautiful thing.
*This somehow triggered a memory in my mind asking all of these questions when I watched it, I'M GETTING EMOTIONAL*
such a cute video!
I cried watching all 3 of these, so hard. I was 4 when the first one came out and his reactions were my reactions. It's just perfect, it's like remembering how we felt. Thanks for this!
Amazing. I shed a tear at the same moment you did
Now you gotta do The Empire Strikes Back!
We get to go back in time and watch ourselves. Good going Dad.
Adorable good and great dad!! Every kid needs to go back to the 70s and 80s and experience this awesome trilogy lol
