In today's world of football and player market value....Yekini would have been worth 150m his finishing is just sublime, energy, pace, aggression and clinical finishing...with thunderous shooting ability with both left and right foot.... absolutely LEGEND..... REST IN POWER Goat🐐😢
Unfortunately the modern game has very few out and out strikers....think of the strikers in Yekini's era - strikers like Batistuta, Zamorano, Titi Camara, Alan Shearer... Maybe Haaland and a handful of others are The closest to that ...
It used to be a delight to watch Nigeria play. Then, no matter the opposition, it wasn't a question of whether Nigeria would win. It was a question of by how many goals!
Rashidi was class, prolific striker 💯. I think we dont praise some of our super stars enough. Oliseh is a top class midfielder, can anyone noticed his long range passes
Imagine we can roll back the hands of time, this 1994 squad would destroy the recent Super Eagles team (from 2010 to 2023) if pitched against each other. This is the best Nigeria has ever produced!!!
These present eagles dey learn work.No present crop of Naija players can compare to this great team.it was a great honour watching this team play as a kid, they set a standard no one has matched till date
Sunday Oliseh is a passes god! Then you had other sublime passers like Jay Jay Okocha. No wonder Nigeria had one of the best midfields in the world in that era.
Rashidi Yekini never missed a penalty. Gangling Dangling Yekini, a natural predator ❤❤❤❤❤. RIP Legend. Other players were exceptional too. Amokachi, Amuneke, Finidi, Oliseh, Okocha, Ben Iroha, Mutiu Adepoju Siasia, Yisa Shofoluwe, Okechukwu, etc. What a collection of talents
RIP to Nigeria's greatest striker till date. Hopefully another great striker called Victor Osimhen can propel the Super Eagles to victory in the 2023 AFCON
..Are we going to talk about how Rashidi Yekini scores Nigeria first ever WORLD CUP goal, but none of his teammates joined in Celebrating him?😕 Nigeria my Country.. we have long way to still go 😪
Rufai the basket. Despite the blunders at the 1994 AFCON, Nigeria still carried him to the 1998 World Cup, where his errors were finally exposed. With a better goalkeeper, Nigeria would have excelled at both 1994 and 1998 World cups.
Though Rufai made some errors in Tunisia 94, he played much better at USA 94 and he wasn't at fault for any of the goals Italy scored us. But I do agree that he was way past his best at France 1998.
All this players are great players.... But who noticed they all look too big wearing the jersey.. They have muscles and bigger tigh.. Example "Amokachi" Except for few ones like OKOCHA, amuneke who had small statures
Did anyone notice the size and physics of those players and the player with great finesse, I still wonder wat players these days do with advance tech to build skill. They are lazy and after money
If not for the Sani Abacha nonsense and drama, this Nigerian team would have won the 1996 AFCON, and the 1998 AFCON. They would have done a tripple like Egypt did in 2006, 2008 and 2010.
Not Abacha nonsense, African and Hayatou politics. 1996 and 1998 Nations Cup was ours for the taken cos no team in Africa could match us, we would have been counting 5 nations cup now
The ironic thing is that he hadn't play a single match all through the AFCON and had given up hope of playing until Westerhof told him he was starting the final. Just imagine the turnaround...1,000,000% return on faith invested.
Even in Cameroon, we respected Yekini. RIP Champion.
He played with all his heart. He scored classical goals! Rest in peace best Nigerian striker.
HE WAS......
Was a True Warrior.
In today's world of football and player market value....Yekini would have been worth 150m his finishing is just sublime, energy, pace, aggression and clinical finishing...with thunderous shooting ability with both left and right foot.... absolutely LEGEND..... REST IN POWER Goat🐐😢

not one of the greatest but the greatest Nigerian striker
Rashidi Yekini remains one the greatest Natural Striker Nigeria ever had
No doubt
Yes sir!
It used to be a delight to watch Nigeria play. Then, no matter the opposition, it wasn't a question of whether Nigeria would win. It was a question of by how many goals!
Oliseh was a great midfielder.
Rashidi was class, prolific striker 💯. I think we dont praise some of our super stars enough. Oliseh is a top class midfielder, can anyone noticed his long range passes
Legend !!! What a striker !!! Was a pleasure watching him play !! And this Nigerian team!!!
Imagine we can roll back the hands of time, this 1994 squad would destroy the recent Super Eagles team (from 2010 to 2023) if pitched against each other. This is the best Nigeria has ever produced!!!
1994 - 1998 produced Nigeria's best ever teams/players.
These present eagles dey learn work.No present crop of Naija players can compare to this great team.it was a great honour watching this team play as a kid, they set a standard no one has matched till date
Absolutely true!
Sunday Oliseh is a passes god! Then you had other sublime passers like Jay Jay Okocha. No wonder Nigeria had one of the best midfields in the world in that era.
Yekini the greatest striker we ve produced till date
Rashidi Yekini never missed a penalty. Gangling Dangling Yekini, a natural predator ❤❤❤❤❤. RIP Legend. Other players were exceptional too. Amokachi, Amuneke, Finidi, Oliseh, Okocha, Ben Iroha, Mutiu Adepoju Siasia, Yisa Shofoluwe, Okechukwu, etc. What a collection of talents
Yeking! The gifted Nigerian striker.
RIP to Nigeria's greatest striker till date.
Hopefully another great striker called Victor Osimhen can propel the Super Eagles to victory in the 2023 AFCON
😢Unfortunately Osimhen didn't make it.
Nigeria's Golden Era!!!
This is still the best football team Nigeria has ever produced. Hope to see another one in the nearest future
I can never forget that Referee Lim Kee Chong.
Legendary team! Rip Rasheed Yekini. ❤
No be today we don Dey get keepers issues , I think Dosu Joseph and enyema remains the best from my own generation
The greatest Nigerian Team ever
Played in Portugal most of his career....128 appearances 94 goals ❤
I remember every detail of the match, wow just like yesterday.
Oliseh was the Pivot of most of the goals. Kudos to him.
Rest in peace Rashid yakini😭
World class striker!
Continue to rest well Rasheed Yekini! 🙏
Yekini was actually very good during his playing career. RIP Champ
Nostalgic!!! The greatest Nigerian football team.
✨🤲🏾Innalillahi wa inna ilaihin raj'un...💚💛❤️Rasheedi Yekini🪔
That skilful pass to Iroha for the equalizer against Cote de voire was erroneously attributed to Yekini when it was actually a pass from Okocha
Correct
Even as a kid,I remember that pass to iroha was from Jay jay.good ol days
I can't see Kanu and Finidi George here
Kanu wasn't here but Finidi was in the match @@ebukachidolue3030
@@ebukachidolue3030Kanu hadn't made it into the National team. He had just played at the Under 17 the previous year.
May his humble soul continue to rest in peace Amen
Yeah indeed one of the finest talents Nigeria ever produced yet died as if he was nothing. Rest on Yekini
Yes, it was sad to hear how he ended. And that’s why Nigeria is what it is… not noteworthy at all.
How did he die?
I am watching this during AFCON23. Sad to say that it looks like standards have dropped
Yekini is my best striker of all time for Nigeria. i don't care what anybody says
When men answered their names!
The speed of Yekinis free kick has not been counted among the fastest kicks with d speed of light
When men played for God and country!
..Are we going to talk about how Rashidi Yekini scores Nigeria first ever WORLD CUP goal, but none of his teammates joined in Celebrating him?😕
Nigeria my Country.. we have long way to still go 😪
When Nigeria had a soccer team.
Yekini rest in peace
Amokachi adores Yekini
Nostalgia
Just like yesterday,I was in ss1then......
Yhis was the hot 🔥 hot inform team that would have guven Africa her first WORLD CUP going into US 93 WC, after this Nations cup.
This Team 😊😊😊
these guys were scoring goals for free
Remember this game.
The famous white dove theory in that freekick
Did i just see an Asian as the referee in the finals? 😮
I noticed that AFCON games have always been played on a empty stadium
So painful yekini works hard but never live to eat the fruit of his hard labour for the country
Rufai the basket. Despite the blunders at the 1994 AFCON, Nigeria still carried him to the 1998 World Cup, where his errors were finally exposed. With a better goalkeeper, Nigeria would have excelled at both 1994 and 1998 World cups.
He's a complete basket 🧺

@@jideajao6502 USA 94, Nigerian has best defence in the world that Period, that's why you thought he was good.
@@jideajao6502he was never a good goalkeeper but was protected by great defenders like Taribo west, Samson siasia, Babayaro, eguavoen.
Rufai PR was something else.
the same guy who was about to knock out Italy from WC94 if not for that disgusting foul by Maldini
Honestly watch yekini goals... I replace cr7 as the best player in my book of soccer... Yekini is the king
Looks like football has evolved backwards 😢
Nigeria in the 90s could beat any team.
All this players are great players.... But who noticed they all look too big wearing the jersey.. They have muscles and bigger tigh.. Example "Amokachi" Except for few ones like OKOCHA, amuneke who had small statures
Onana is that you? 1:13
Sir not nigeria he is belongs to world player
Nobody like Rasheed Yekini.
Did anyone notice the size and physics of those players and the player with great finesse, I still wonder wat players these days do with advance tech to build skill. They are lazy and after money

Mauritius
Emmanuel Amuneke gave us NATION Cup, 2 Goals against Zambia+ Olympic Gold equaliser Goal against Argentina crespo & Ortega, Final Matches. 1996 ...
He also helped us discover Osimehn.
Amunike is a Legend.
Wrong. He scored the winning goal against Argentina. 3-2 in the 90th minute
The ironic thing is that he hadn't play a single match all through the AFCON and had given up hope of playing until Westerhof told him he was starting the final. Just imagine the turnaround...1,000,000% return on faith invested.
He was a giant
