A real magician playing football! Provided with extraordinary technical quality and immense ability to improvise, Okocha was one of the greatest talents I've ever seen! True baller, living legend!

This is the best and most comprehensive JayJay Okocha's video I've seen. It clearly highlights his skills and shows how good he really was with the ball.
I watched him as a Hull City fan, his control and touch was amazing and he’d occasionally pull out a trick or two which was worth the ticket price alone! Thanks Jay-jay
Okocha wasn't celebrated enough, even back home here in Nigeria. What was an amazing player he was ❤❤ goat. Indeed, he created somany dribbling style that they all use now, but just because he wasn't from Europe, they refused to give him all these credits, etc....love you, JayJay ❤❤❤❤
Yeah I'm not sure what you're talking about. I didn't watch excessively when I was in Nigeria but I heard his name everywhere. I grew up in his hometown and everyone loved Jay Jay .
Okocha was not only a joy to watch, but I also think he perfectly embodies the kind of playmaker that could only arise in a bygone era of football. As brilliant as he was, nowadays between positional play, gegen pressing and lowest as low gets block defending he would told he is too unathletic, or too slow, or doesn't have enough end product or doesn't track back enough, and he would either see very little game time as a starter or he would be forced to become just another boring cog in a machine. I like some of the aspects of modern football, but I also lament the chronic lack of spontaneity that ball players like Okocha used to bring. I hope this old man hasn't bored you with his whining.

Pa Jay was magical to watch. He was un-sung in his playing days. He's only now getting the recognition and plaudits he truly deserves. Not all geniuses win Nobel prizes. Not all gifted footballers win Ballon D'or but Okocha will go down a legend of the game.
Este tipo debería tener un monumento en África. No creo que haya otro hasta el momento con las genialidades de Okocha. Wow!!! Mis respetos. Tutor de Ronaldinho!!
You can see how Ronaldinho didn't even bother trying to take the ball off Okocha, he is smart enough to know how good he was and doesn't want to be embarrassed lol
Monster is the perfect description of Jay Jay Okocha. As a Kenyan, Nigeria really has had the best African players in the EPL. Another I really like is Kanu
Ooh, that's a tough one, Yaya and Drogba (and Kolo) for Ivory Coast, Essien and Yeboah for Ghana. But another one for Nigeria: Yakubu! As a Newcastle supporter I'm hoping Yankuba Minteh can be the next star.
Okocha was everything a coach would want today, but he's greatest enemy was signing for wrong clubs. If he were to play in the serie A and La Liga in his hay days, he would have been a ballon dor winner today.
Then football was fun.. No player has the heart to do all these again.. Or let's say "Football" isn't selling skill anymore.. Even at 3-0 down against Brazil, you can see OKOCHA still showing the skills, dazzles etc... You dare not do that when you are down... Era of skills in football now is gone.. What we have left is Pace, strength, goal scoring ability....
Exactly if you could remember well the entire Brazilian team if not all was asking themselves who is this guy again back then some Brazilian fan was saying can they sign him because he has Brazilian root of football knowledge 😂😂 shout out to you though 🙌
It's a shame that because there were so many great players at that time he went a little unnoticed, but he was a great player and the Nigerian team at that time with so many names was to be feared.
We all know Ronaldinho and maradona with their mind blowing crazy skills, but i must say that okocha skills are the best. Anytime am not happy I come to RUclips yo watch okocha skills... He play football not this business game going on now, regardless of trophies or individual award okocha made u enjoy your ticket pass anyone with most trophies and that is football
Yes and no. I personally think Pelé and Maradona are the only players you can compare to Messi in terms of overall talent in the whole history of the game, but his dribbling is often more centered around being practical than spectacular. Ronaldo started out as a trickster winger with fancy footwork, but he relied on skills less and less to focus on goalscoring as he aged. Okocha was always different, he'd often forget efficiency to do whatever was more fun to him and the audiences, and as a result his end product in goals and assists wasn't as great as it could have been. It doesn't help that his defensive work rate made 30+ years and onwards Messi and Cristiano look like prime Ngolo Kanté. Most coaches in the modern game wouldn't stand for that and would have curtailed his creativity or benched him, at which point it wouldn't be the Jay Jay Okocha we knew. To summarize, there's no way to equalize the era that allowed Okocha to express himself to today's football.
