I am Algerian and I love the Nigeria team for its beautiful style of play since the 94 World Cup, Nigeria has delighted us with great players like Rashidi Yekini, Jayjay Okocha, Amokachi, Amunikie, Nwanko Kanu, finidi George.. .....
too bad for several years we no longer see such good players, but I still remain a fan of Nigeria
God bless you for being a fan
amokachi 💪very speed
Nigerian fan .....love from...kenya
Thank you bro for loving our country we love you too 💕
Thank you bro.
Tunisian here , big fan of nigeria , the team from 93 to 98 was amazing , rashidi yekini , okocha , finidi , oliseh , kanu , amunike , ikpeba , babayaro , garba lawal , taribo west, amokashi , tijani babangida ... for me the best african team ever
🥰🥰🥰🥰
Golden generation.
From Zimbabwe true that
Olise
The golden generation
Nigeria won the battle of Midfield against Spain- Garba lawal, Mutiu Adepoju, Sunday Oliseh and Jay Jay Okocha taught Spain a football lesson.
Its 2024! I just watched this match highlight and i am super impressed with the quality of football of the Super Eagles team of that period. To have played against Spain and showed no intimidation, going ahead to win the match with impressive play, gives me so much joy. Every player gave their all and were attack-minded, it was just beautiful to watch.
That screamer from Oliseh. When men played football with passion!!!
The acrobatic kick by Rashidi Yekini... baller, legend ❤❤❤

RIP Rashidi Yekini. 🙏
Watched with so much pride, proud of the team!
Always super Eagles
Now in Somalia but at the time I was in Eindhoven, Netherlands, watched live on TV. Really that was a golden generation of Nigerian football National Team,
Mashallah wagaas Holland joogtay miyaa walal 😂
Haa Abdirahmaan laakiin ma fahmin waxaad ku qososhay!
Stay safe brother
That famous scissors kick that didn't connect...RIP Yekini
The golden generation of Nigerian national team, in my opinion the best African team ever, capable to reach WC-final! but didn't happen pityfully.
Didn't make it Because they were rubbed by Italy in a broad daylight
Nigeria is African Football Heritage
Okacha, a kind of player that is missing from Nigeria. A truly genius.
I LOVED NIGERIAN FOOTBALL BY THEN IM KENYAN BUT I COULD NAME THE WHOLE LINE UP EVEN BEFORE THE MATCH KICKS ON
I loved Nigerian footba players, Iam from Croatia and I could not name even 2 players from line up
😮😮😊
@@Mr_Muscollo_DalmatianThis team is what we can call golden generation players of Nigerian football. The like of Yekini, Finidi George, Sunday Oliseh, Daniel Amokachi, Mutiu Adepoju, Micheal Emenalo, Taribo West, Uche Okechukwu. Celestine Babayaro.
They got a very good team by then
And that was the last time NIGERIA produced a formidable team@@kafilatbabatunde9211
I was born exactly ‘98 and I’m watching this match in ‘24 and to say the fact those guys really tried and are more better than the AFCON of nowadays
With this team, there was a sense of confidence you have as a Nigerian even if they scored them, they will come back again. Keep in mind, the last goal Sunday oliseh scored, he did the same thing during the 98 world cup qualifiers when Nigeria played with Kenya. He scored from that set distance and seeing him do it again at the worldcup stage was phenomenon.
12 years at that time and I could recall all come back goals
I'm 8yrs
Played in France. Babayaro danced with flair. Jay Jay Okocha was so good in the midfield. Sunday Oliseh had a volley.
من اجمل واقوى الفرق الأفريقية التي اتحفتنا بفنياتها وقوتها.
That Oliseh's goal still remains a marvel till tomorrow
Nigeria, what a great moment in our history! When merit was the value.
Nigeria can still do it today.. Miracles still happen
U can see how guys are very aggressive . They go very tough and hard while marking, and very fast not the present super eagles that keep romancing and caressing the ball, some even afraid to slide to win the ball. The ancient style of play is exactly what Aaron Wan Bissaka does. They need to be playing videos like this for them before every match
Footballs gotten very soft over the years.
Very true
Or actually playing them their own videos with these ones side by side.
But bissaka doesn't have the capacity and skills of this players. He is just sliding aimlessly.
You also need to note that strikers have developed over the years in handling d ball that if you try to tackle aggressively, you commit a foul... The game has changed
What a goal from Sunday Oliseh. This match is definately a classic!
Classic match from a classic WC. Best ever in my humble opinion.
It was an amazing match.
Old is always gold❤❤❤
I was 13 years old and I remember good damn time fly can't believe I'm 39 now lol
Was also 13...now 39 ..
Same here
I was 14. 40 now. Time flies
Am a Sierra Leonean but Nigeria are the giant for our continent west Africa
Sunday Oliseh's goal definitely one of the most impressive goals of all time!
Legends,and they will always be.
I wish this current uninspiring team of Super Eagles watch this kind of high intensity matches to see where they are coming from.
I remember watching this match live... It feels like a generation ago, time flies!
My legendary team I supported nigeria when I was 12 years old greetings from Turkey
Que buen recuerdo sábado por la mañana 7am (México) Nigeria vs España gran Victoria Nigeriana
😢😢😢😢 🤦🏾♂️ I cried for not being a footballer after all the passion I have for football ⚽ 🥅 I was to replace Taribo west or Uche The Gentle Giant, I play as central back football still in me till today I don't give my opponent chance to break my defense and I'm not tired full 90+ energy till last whistle 😢 God help me to train any of my son to take over me in football, no current Nigeria 🇳🇬 Super Eagle can bench me in any team during my active days in field 2007 gold medal # Coca-Cola Team they drop me from U17 Selection after I made my name Udofia, Udoh and Christiantus made it because they hard person, this was the time every body will full tank 💪🏼💯🩸 Aggressive and skills
But christantus was a 9
I don't know if Nigeria could ever produce someone that can play a ballistic shot from midfield like Oliseh!! What a Masterclass!
They are numerous of them, but corruption won't allow coach use them
Taiwo
@@greatbishoptv9460 Exactly, why does corruption have to enter our football team.
@greatbishoptv9460 This is why Nigeria needs another leader like Abacha.
That someone today is Ademola Lookman, he scored twice in AFCON 2024 , as Nigeria earned a place in the quarter-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations with a 2-0 win over Cameroon.
Celestine Babayaro, Victor Ikpeba, Tijani Babangida, Sunday Oliseh, Daniel Amokachi, Nwankwo Kanu damn this team deserve World Cup title just like Argentina 1998
Debut nation deserve it 🇭🇷
Lilian Thuram 2 goals scored and that were only goals he scored in his carrer fun fact
@@Mr_Muscollo_Dalmatian Lilian Thuram at his prime at that time. As Serie A viewer I always supported Parma which that time are managed by Ancelotti and with Thuram, Cannavaro, Sensini, Buffon, Veron, Chiesa, Crespo, they are better win scudetto rather than twice being runnerup below calciopoli fc juventus 😭 the worst part are ancelotti, buffon and thuram then moved to juve 😮💨
Just smiling over here in Nigeria Indeed a great performance
This was Nigeria's Golden Generation from 1994 and 1996 Olympics. It's crazy they didn't make it to World Cup quarters in 1994. Roberto Baggio denied them that opportunity from Oliseh mistake in the dying minutes.
Moreso, Rufai shouldn't have been our keeper but someone like shoromun or eyeama
Looking at how Luis Enrique kicked Jay Jay Okocha😂
The coach 😮
This Nigeria team was strong except the goalkeeper Peter Rufai was a weaked the easier ball was a goal. Otherwise it was a great team
Will always a fan of Super Eagles. From Kenyan in Nairobi.
What real spirit, great game and tactical energetic Rasheei yekini.
I still remember this game. I just hope the Super Eagles of Nigeria would get it right again.❤
I was 83 years older when I watched this match was so wonderful 👍
Match rewatch is just like yesterday when Nigeria was a world football class.
That Sunday Oliseh goal what shot from Wednesday!!!
🇳🇬thank you 😉👍🎶✨
What a great match,i was just 11yr then watch with black screen tv 📺
Everything has really changed wow
This Nigerian team is different from the current crop of Nigerian players. These guys were really defending their country whereas the current players are defending their bank accounts and talent
I remember this game >> was watching alone and jumped on the couch whne Oliseh scored the 3rd goal..
This is what I'll call football not the odd ones now that we call football
This match was played on a Saturday, I watched the second half after my common entrance exam.
Very bad officiating right there 2 or 3 of those mad Spanish players should've been red carded... what kind of kicking on Okocha was that? As if they have personal beef with him🤦🏾♂️
They were jealous of his dribbling skills!
Very true but those red card rules like raising your legs too hight like that weren't existing then. Football has grown.
It’s not bad reporting. Racism was a huge issue those days
Tout africain a aimé et soutenu cette grande équipe du Nigeria des années 90
We Miss that Super Eagle, it was Total Super and powerfully
25 years ago.
Time flies
Much 💚 from Tanzania 🇹🇿🇹🇿
There would have been at least 1-2 red cards either way if this was today.
After betting.
I swear
Great match. Great strike Sunday Oliseh!
can you please provide highlights for Iran - USA 1998, and Iran - Yugoslavia 1998? Thank you.
That Nigeria team was something else!
had it been that yekini's scissors kick entered , it would have been one of the best super eagles goals till date.
I remember watching this game I had just come back from an exam at school and was hoping they would go all the way after this great performance.
My first time to watch this highlights
Where are those players; Sunday olishe, yekini, okocha, lawal etc? We need them now .😂
Fantastic Memory
This was peak Nigeria.
I hope we get back to this level soon
Loved it from Kenya
Another video where the goal shots are edited very poorly
The match reminds me of may late uncle, watched it together may he rests in peace
Total dominance 😊. 98 best of Nigerian team
Nigeria eagles of today should learn
Those days can never revolt today 🎉🎉🎉😊😊
I remember Sunday Oliseh's goal like yesterday
A lot of hard fouls.
But if you watched 90s football that was pretty normal
Didnt remember Spain missing so many chances
Spaniards played dirty.
Spain lost because Raul Gonzalez missed two clear chances, to take the score to 3-1 and then 4-2.
That is what cost them the match.Raul missed 2 clear chances that would have won them the match.
Excellent
I remember watching it in a neighbour's house.
개인적으로 1998년 프랑스 월드컵 최고의 명승부~^^.
Argentina v Holland 98.
Great match from the Nigerians
well done ✅
Watched to make my self happy
Nigeria plz bring back ths uniforms!!
😢😢🎉🎉
Zubizarreta helped the Nigerian team a little bit. When Spain was ahead 2-1 and was creating more chances, the Spanish goalkeeper had the last blunder of his career to keep Spain out of the Last 16. Nigeria was never better than Spain until this moment in minute 73.
7:35 they didn't just want to take Okocha out of the football pitch, those lads wanted him out of the world entirely 😱
When they became the Super Eagles! ✊🏿👊🏿🇳🇬
That Nigeria forgot about Yekini is so unbelievable
Nobody forgot him
Yekini is a legend we all know and respect
Rip 🙏 🪦
8:36 That guy's played football with more agressive and passion,so we need this now.
Please which website can I download this highlight?🙏
Nostalgic 😊
I missed old days
Watched live for this Game 1998
OLISEH SHOT...very physical back then ooo
Was den das für ein Bild zusammenschnitt???
Spain had a very good players at that time (Hierro, Raúl, Guardiola, Kiko, Luis Enrique, Sergi, Alfonso...) but a very poor coach, Zubizarreta had passed his prime in 98 but Clemente kept play with him...
Even at 36, Zubizarreta the Barcelona keeper was better than Santiago Canizares and Jose Molina.I blame Raul for those two missed chances that would have won Spain the match
That scissors kick attempt was 🔥
ganarcho will have been humbled
I remember that Oliseh’s bomb as if it was yesterday.
what a match !
This is the time we had African giants! Not nowadays loverboys.
I mean in the paper espana nigeria paraguay o bulgaria
El que hizo el video debe ser gallego, pasó los goles africanos súper rápido
Imagine if Rasheed Yekini scissor kick would have gone in, that would had been the goal of the tournament.
This country Nigeria was very sweet ooo
1998 camera quality is still better than afcon 2023 camera quality 😢
The Spanish team had an off day sha
Make we no lie
But a win for the ages
The new team even though have better players all round can’t ever do great things like this cause they don’t have the passion of these guys
The Spanish team were playing against a power house full of stars.
Do you know kanu, babangida, sunday Oliseh, finidi of ajax that won 1994 ucl and played ucl final 1996?
After this squad, Nigeria never got outstanding players again.
