- Inception is one of those movies that keeps you thinking from beginning and far past the end of it; had a lot of fun watching this one and trying to guess what the hell was actually happening!

Interestingly you're actually surprisingly easy to lipread...
Audio is out
@@bdawg5855 Nah, probably your ears bro
@@ShaunMitchell1983You could practically hear their reaction when it cuts out before you find out if the top stops spinning.
Watching you two freak out at the spinning top at the end in silence was hilarious!
The movie that gave us the trailer “BAAAAAWWWW”, it was EVERYWHERE in the early 2010’s
This is 100% an original story/script from Christopher Nolan. He actually had the idea some 10 years before the movie even came out. After his immense success of The Dark Knight, the studio basically said make whatever you want next, and he thought this was a good followup.
A few notes: 1) They actually did spin the hallway. They built a whole rig and built the set in a cylindrical setting, which they spun. There is video of it if you seek it out. 2) Everyone is saying you need to watch Interstellar, but some other great options by Nolan are Memento and The Prestige. 3) A lot of people cite Nolan saying that whether or not the top falls isn't the point, but Michael Caine said in an interview once that Nolan told him that any scenes he was in were the real world, so the end is the real world. Additionally 4) A lot of people think that Cobb's totem is the top. It's actually his wedding ring. In the dreams, he's wearing it, but in the real world, he's not. 5) The names of all the main Characters spell DREAMS (Dom, Robert, Eames, Ariadne, Mal, Saito)
"The real point of the ending is that Cobb isn't interested in looking at the top. He's looking at his kids. He's moved on." -Christopher Nolan
Also, I love the end of this movie because they gave Cillian Murphy's character a happy ending. It doesn't matter that they manipulated him, he became happier in thinking his father did love him so much.
This film is aging beyond well at an exponential rate. Much like Shawshank. I predict in about 20 years, it will be on the Mt Rushmore of sci-fi films. A true and complete masterpiece. Damn near a perfect film.
Literally my favorite movie of all time
See paprika of satoshi kon where Nolan copied and u will change your mind
@@fortvnadltgroup Why isn't enjoying both an option?
@@fortvnadltgroupdiffrence is that inception isn't mid
@@fortvnadltgroup Star Wars: A New Hope, Reservoir Dogs, The Matrix, etc... are beloved movies that were copied from others.
Nolan loves practical, so if he can do it, it will be done. It was a physical spinning room with wires and choreography. The wedding ring on Cobb is one of the biggest indicator to the audience if he is in a dream or not. Ring on = Dream, No ring = reality.
The audio is cutting out
24:00 minutes onwards.
Yeah the entire audio for their commentary cuts out. At first I thought maybe it was cut because copyrighted music or something but probably just a problem when editing.
It's a massive bug with editing software, shows the audio but once exported it disappears? We're working to figure out how the hell to fix this, it's so weird.
Maybe you're dreaming
@@OctoKrool no problem continue the fun work
Sam and Jake stood under the warm spray of the shower, steam swirling around them. Their laughter echoed off the tiles as they washed away the grime of the day.
“You know,” Sam said, lathering shampoo into his hair, “I was reading this article about the history of hand jobs. It’s fascinating.”
Jake chuckled, rinsing soap off his arms. “Only you would find that interesting. What did it say?”
“Well,” Sam began, “it turns out that hand jobs were a common part of male bonding rituals in some cultures. It was more about camaraderie than sex.”
Jake raised an eyebrow. “Really? That’s pretty wild. Imagine explaining that at a family dinner.”
They both laughed, the sound blending with the noise of the water.
“Hey, knowledge is power,” Sam grinned, rinsing his hair.
Jake nodded, smiling. “Just another quirky piece of trivia for the books. Only you, Sam.”
That Ken transition killed me. lmao
You guys gotta watch Tenet after this.
Michael Caine was confused about the film and needed Christopher Nolan to explain a few things. He did confirm that any scene with his character, is set in reality. So Cobb did in fact reunite with his children.
Doesn't sound like Nolan to confirm theories.
the "Ken" transition... bruh I laughed so fucking hard
I got chills when you said "wait, a dream within a dream?" this movie is so good
Notice how many people in this are from the Batman movies? Nolan loves his repeat actors. ^_^
"dream heist" perfect description
Possible spoiler of the outcome:
There is a token that was persistent in the film; water. The water is either clear or monocolor in a dream. But in that final top spinning scene, there are a couple glasses of water of different colors. So Cobb can’t be dreaming.
You guys really need to watch Interstellar next :) It's another phenomenal movie by Christopher Nolan. If you liked Inception you'll love Interstellar.
This one was a delight to view in the theater.
I think Cobb’s totem was actually his wedding ring. The top was Mal’s. He wears it in the dream sequences but not in reality. They made a conscious effort to not to show his left hand at all in the final scenes, keeping the ambiguity of it all. I can still hear the load groans from the theater once the credits rolled 😂
From what little experience I’ve had I believe a dream within a dream is possible. I’ve had experiences myself where I woke up and then woke up a second time, and though the dream was deep, so therefore I can’t remember what I was dreaming about, what I distinctly remember was I was in there for a long time! And the physics of the dreamworld and time passing, it checks out to an extent. I don’t know if it’s been thoroughly proven or if it’s scientifically documented, but I have had experiences very similar that I can attest to
Gurl... be for real
Could've been a recurring nightmare and you had sleep paralysis..it's rare
.I had it once
"It does not do to dwell on dreams, and forget to live." - Albus Dumbledore
I always think of this quote when I watch the end of Inception
At the end, you see the top start to warble just at the cut. Honestly, for me, the top spinning non-stop would betray the WHOLE POINT of Cobb's catharsis and in my opinion make the movie less than. That's my take on it... and for me, the top does stop as Cobb finally came to terms with what he did and was finally ready to move forward.
The spinning top wasn’t Cobb’s totem to tell when he’s dreaming. It was Mal’s.
Cobb’s totem was his wedding ring. In dreams he’s wearing his wedding ring. In real life he’s not. At the end of the film as he walks away from Mal’s spinning top, letting her go and focusing on his kids and the future, he is NOT wearing his wedding ring.
It’s real life. Period.
That doesn't explain why Cobb keeps spinning the top to see if he's in a dream or not. He was never concerned about his ring.
@@jp3813 WAS he spinning the ring to see if he was in a dream or not? That seems like quite the assumption on your part. Or was he just spinning it while reminiscing about Mal? The only exposition about it says that *Mal* would spin it to figure out if she was still in a dream.
@@chriscypert8616 Nobody said anything about spinning the ring. The first time that we see him spin the top, he grabs a gun and raises it near his head. Once it stopped spinning, he puts the gun down. The 2nd time we see him spin it was after he wakes up from training Ariadne. Once it stopped spinning, he lets out a huge sigh of relief. The 3rd time was when he finally went home, and he spins the top w/ a concerned look on his face. Now you're telling us that all three of those scenes are just him randomly reminiscing?
The brilliance of the ending is that they planted the idea in our minds throughout that it might still all be a dream. Incaption, in act.
It's one of those films that you have to watch 2-3 times times to truly grab. The soundtrack by Hans is absolutely amazing.
10:35 - This is what "In-Dream Meditation" is like. Accessing your "mind palace" and retaining memory of said session after waking up.
Other than the audio issues, the reactions to this film was excellent ❤ Can’t wait to rewatch this when the audio is fixed.
His kids at the end "we are building a house on a CLIFF!!" just like the house Saito was in the first dream sequence at the beginning of the movie?!?!? wrap your mind round that..
Man, you guys really need to watch interstellar if you haven't already done so. Christopher Nolan at his genius best. Literally the most amazing film ever made
Seconded. I mean, not my favorite film ever made, but it’s amazing, and they should watch it.
Tho, SPOILERS…
I’m still unclear why they needed to find a new planet AND solve gravity. With a new planet, they could just use rockets to move people there. With the space stations (solving gravity), they seem to be doing fine for decades with no new planet. So the NEED for both seems unclear.
One of my favorite movies . I really loved that Fischer got moment with his dad and have some closure 😭
1- this may be my favorite story about letting go ever. We all recreate an avatar of lost loved ones in our mind. Such a fascinating way to look at loss, and finally letting go of it.
2- I could be crazy, but for me this is the second of a trilogy about time from Nolan, Memento, Inception, and Tenet. 3- Tenet is amazing but…. You kinda have to watch it ten times, and probably watch ten explanation videos to even get to the tip of the iceberg of how amazing that movie is.
Great reaction as usual👌
Now you need to see the Japanese animated film Paprika. Some would argue that is, at least, partially inspired this film.
Bummed that part of your audio is cut out during the reaction, but glad that the discussion at the end appears to have full audio.
This and shutter island came out the same year. Both 10/10 films
"There were moments I felt I was too quiet", says Chris. Well, yeah, especially if you mute half your comments 😂
Actually it’s gif with the hard G. The g in gif stands for graphics, which is also said with a hard G.
It's like saying Jiven instead of given
Technically it is supposed to be pronounced Jiff according to the guy who created it, but I'll be damned if I'm going to pronounce it that way..
Its pronounced jiff
The .jiff file format hates the pronunciation of .gif...
JIF is this other product … peanut butter?
GIF stands for "Graphics Image Format".
They should never have the same pronunciation.
I don’t think you guys quite got what happened with him and his wife. Early on when they talked first about Inception and everyone else kept saying it couldnt be dine, he knew it could be done - because he had already done it.
In his dream in limbo with his wife, she had put the spinning top - her totem - spinning inside a safe and left it there. It was basically her subconscious feeling. But he stopped it spinning without her knowing it, and as a result he affected her subconscious feeling that the world was not real, and forced her to wake up with him by ‘killing themselves’ by lying in front of the train and waking them up to the real world. Only when she woke up, because he had messed with her spinning top, he messed with her sense of the world being real, so she didn’t feel that the world was real, she still believed they were dreaming, and needed to die to wake up. She died and framed him for her death believing she would wake up and he would be forced to wake up because his dream would just become a nightmare of imprisoned for her murder.
She kept appearing in his dreams because she was the embodiment of his guilt for causing her to not feel like the world was real, so ultimately being responsible for her death.
I don't think you watched that correctly. When Mal put the top in the safe, it's just lying down. She puts it away to not think about it anymore.
Later, when Cobb finds the safe and the top, he lets it spin until she opens it again and realizes it's not real. (We don't know how he made her look into the safe again, however.)
The rest is correct, after waking up Mal still has the feeling to be in a dream. Or did she escape it and he was left behind …? (Even when Nolan says no, the doubt at the end stays, like Inceptions …)
One interesting thing about the train, it is the same engine that crashes into the cars on the street just after their arrival in the first dream. Cobb's mind already started sabotaging the mission.
Not long after watching Nolan's The Prestige, this is in my notifications. Quite a coincidence.
Interstellar next??👀👀👀
😊 these are such expressive reactors. That even if you can't hear their words, you are feeling this movie with them ❤😂
Awsome Dark City next
Dark City is a great one
Hear me out. Sito was the target all along. Think about how the movie starts. Why would you hire someone that failed a job for your job? And you see Cobb getting to a safe to mess with his wife's memories. Fisher's safe was massive. But the safe of Cobb wife. And saito's safe were small personal safe's. But more than anything. When Cobb is being chased in Mumbai, it was just like being chased in a dream by that first level of dream security. And those people suddenly stop chasing him.
The holy grail of Chris Nolan time bending movies is watching Memento-Inception-Tenet in a row! Your mind needs therapy after this... an will be more sane than ever!!!😅🤗😉
It's so freaking funny that you guys get muted but the movie sound plays like normal
I wish I had dreams of a whole other life when I was in a coma. Nope. Just fever dreams that had me sucked into the horrific ceiling tiles saying "Stop. Fall Risk." It was so bad that I started having regular daydreams and nightmares of escaping the hospital. It seemed like a great idea...until I couldn't sit up or stand or hold up my arms. You lose a lot of your body muscle in 2 weeks on a ventilator.
My favorite Leonardo DiCaprio movie is “Catch Me If You Can” costarring Tom Hanks. Also iconic movies of Leo’s are “The Departed” and “The Wolf of Wall Street”.
Even after y’all’s audio went out, I could still see the WOW-ness in your faces. BUT, dang it!! Wish I could’ve heard it
Watching your reaction to the spinning top at the end with no sound is actually hilarious
Cobb’s wedding ring is his totem.
Phenomenal movie. I believe his is still dreaming at the end, because his Children are still the same age that they were when their mother died who knows how many years before.
Please react to Tenet. Its from the same director. A piece of art and a puzzle to the mind
I wish i could have heard your reaction to the cut to black screen at the end, but it looked like the reception this got in the screening i saw 😂
They did use a spinning room, the behind the scenes reels on that are great, it was so clever.
First viewing i was so immersed in the dream levels, that i totally forgot they were on the plane 😳
this movie is an excelent example of lucid dreaming or even the astral in reality. (not everyone believe in it) i love it.
Inception even though its got rave reviews.... its still under-rated lol. Cause someone had to execute this idea on-screen well.
I had an inception like dream last night actually if you can believe it!
I was so tired in my dream I had a dream within a dream, then I woke up from that dream a later on from the original dream!
You, guys are so silly lol.. I love how you two love each other as brothers.. I wish I was like that with my brother.
"Inception" is very much based on a story in a Scrooge McDuck comic. I can't give you any links or this comment will get taken down, but do a search for it. It's crazy!
If you guys loved this Christopher Nolan movie about dreams, I think you'd love another Nolan film called "Tenet" about time. It's a wild ride!!!
First view. And y’all’s mamma always talking about me 😂
I heard her, she said she thinks you're cute.
React to the secret life of pets
And
The secret life of pets 2
hey guys the yalls audio for the second half of the video is missing
Will you fix the audio on this and repost it? I really want to know what yall said.
They just take more and more control
I love this movie so much. It's so crazy to see you guys reacting to it. Hell yeah
I’ve seen Inception too many times to count. But as soon as I saw the notification, I just knew I needed to see this reaction. 😂
Cant wait to see them watching Tenet x)
the dream storyline was from the anime movie Paprika, the rest about it being a heist and the characters was all Nolan
That's spinning room wasn't CGI...they actually spun a room and he had to fight in it 😵
As I’ve heard it Inception was a ten year writing project for Christopher Nolan. Only his next film - that wasn’t Batman - Interstellar was as all consuming. These are my two favorite Nolan films for all the care and creativity infused into them and how they both really get you in the feels!
You guys should watch spawn (1997) it's pretty cool from comics and it's got a puppy
All this movie makes me want to do is take a nap lol
Amazing soundtrack! Hans zimmer is sooo good at what he does! I hope interstellar is coming soon. Hans Zimmer did that soundtrack too, which is amazing.
I love this movie so much I saw it in the theater when it came out
Christopher Nolan has said he worked on the Inception script off and on for 10 years, between his first movie Following (98) through The Dark Knight (08).
It’s not important whether the top kept spinning or whether it fell; it’s that Cobb was holding his kids and he no longer cared.
Your guys audio drops out half way into the video
Yup, no idea why; could be an issue with upload. Gonna try and see if we can get another one up soon.
36:41
And then there was Dune.
Before you start the story, read this brief dictionary. lol
Loved that book 💙
Watch Tenet after this, it tries to screw with your mind even more. Though some think the movie tried to hard, thus leaving Inception as the better mind bending movie. Myself? Die hard Inception fan!
Yep. I mean Doctor Strange bent the world in the comics, but Inception was stated by the VFX team in Strange, as being inspiration.
This is a brilliant movie. Enjoyed your reaction...hope you get the audio problems sorted!
The snow fortress was based on the snow fortress of his favorite James Bond movie, 1969’s On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. A lot of the snow action scenes were paying homage to that Bond movie. Nolan has called Inception his “Bond” movie.
They've never seen Titanic? How has that not been a reaction yet then ?
Nolan's absolute masterpiece🔥🔥🔥🔥

This is my fav movie of all time. So happy when I saw this video.
There have actually been quite a few films with this premise-but they were in the 1980's. Dreamscape with Dennis Quaid was a big one.
With Freddy Krueger also coming from that era …
At the end of to 90's, there was a short lived TV show called "Sleepwalkers", and the movie "The Cell" - found the DVDs right next to Inception on my shelf.
Maybe "Paprika" should be on the watch list, too?
i would love to see a Cold War Era prequel with this movie’s tech.
John Q is a great movie to react to! Denzel Washington never fails. Or Deja Vu with Denzel.
I’ve also never seen anyone react to Hide and Seek, with Robert DeNiro and Dakota Fanning.
fantastic original concept for a movie... trippy premise... top 5 movies of 2010!
Real good movie love the video octokrool stay motivated dream big 1 mill on the way
This was a real good one! It's reminiscent of the movie "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" w/Jim Carey. Real Trippy
If you ever want a rare film try Deep Rising only 2 RUclipsr have ever reacted to it. It’s also one of Best movies you never saw. Director also did The Mummy Brendan Fraser
Oh yeah The Prestige is another Nolan film that is absolutely amazing!
3:24
That. Was. Perfect. lol 💙
you should check out Dreamscape (1984) with Dennis Quade.
He wrote it with his brother. I believe it took them 8 years...
One of the most unique thriller movies ever made
But you gotta pay attention and follow it closely or it’ll lose ya
I've had a dream within a dream, and its weird as hell. U think u woke up from a dream, and get on with your day. Then you wake up again in the real world.
This is also what happens when you take DMT. Some people are asleep for minutes but experience hours. Some experience weeks. One guy on youtube swears he was away for 20 years on DMT, living as a aquatic creature with a family and a job. Yet he was only out for a few minutes.
Its Gif. Jif is a fucking peanut butter.
Does anyone seriously believe this is the first time these two have watched Inception? Never in their life? Not when it was new and getting a lot of hype, not in the following years?
Also they claim to be big arnie fans but just watched his big roles the first time on this channel? how?
Awesome choice!
