Oops I dropped the string and she fell apart😮. I had to run out and find an old fashion large Bobby hairpin (in 2023 lol) to help me threat it. I found a fancy large rhinestone Bobby pin at cvs and I was able to threat it back up and thru the torso area. I tied the knot and she is feeling nice and tight. Thank you for this idea. It really helped a lot and you are absolutely right I could have definitely used an extra set of hands. lol. I used my knees as well. In the end it worked. Thanks again Allison.
This video could not have come at a better time! I’ve just ordered my first doll and I’m so nervous about having to string her up if she arrives too loose, I also have carpal tunnel so that would be even more difficult. Thank you!
Thank you so much for this. Ive recently got a new bjd and she was a complete pain to do anything with because her legs were so floppy and her arms were so tight. I hadn't a clue about sueding or restringing so was thinking I would sell her because she was just too annoying. I've just tied two extra knots in her leg elastic and slightly stretched the arm elastic and its made a huge difference.
One of my minifees hasn’t been restrung in about five years because arthritis makes it difficult for me, so thank you for making this video! Do you have any tips for the tiny guys, or do you think this would apply at that scale too? I have the world’s floppiest pukifee because I’m honestly intimidated to take them apart!
It could work for tinies and I've done it before but you have to be super super careful not to drop that string cause it's smaller and even harder to hang onto.

Thanks the tutorial! I have a little suggestion where you use the hemostat to clamp down the elastic so you can safely tie the knot without worrying about the elastic shooting through the body. I also have mobility issues so I use both large and mini hemostats. I had a question about “loose” vs “tight” BJDs. If my girl’s legs will give out when I try to stand her in heeled feet, is she loose? I got her just a month ago from the company and she was like that out of the box.
I would say that is either a balance issue because she's not well balanced on heeled feet, or perhaps she is loose. I would lean towards the balance though on a new doll.

I bought one and received in March this year and I have another one coming, so it might take a while but I don't know how long, give or take..
It depends on how much the doll is played with and the quality of string used in the first place. Some elastics naturally last longer over time while some break down and lose elasticity faster. Playing with them more also stretches the elastic more, so they'll get looser than if they just sit on a shelf.
@@MunecasPoupeesDolls sigh! My current doll stays sit most of the time. Lately I can't play with her often, I'm busy taking care of my mom and other stuffs. My second BJD that is coming to us will also stays sit too. As soon as she arrives I'll take lots of pics with her. I'll try to play more with them when I find more time. Pull the elastic away as much as you can then Use the homostats as cross clamps to hold the elastic in place so it doesn’t slip down into the doll again then once clamped down so it. Won’t slip then Ty you’re not at that point does that make sense? I hope I was clear it’s a little hard to explain. I’m sure you probably even know how to do it if you restrung your doll but it might make things just a little tiny bit easier as well and thanks so much for this wonderful tip!

The amount of time it takes me to stop obsessing about where their knot is in their body is oddly annoying to me and tedious because I always want to put it at the top of the neck but I mostly have Karsh's from CP Fairyland that I modified so putting their knot at the top is impossible if I don't want a loose head. So, I had to finesse your method a little bit it still worked and I am grateful 😭❤️

I would say that is either a balance issue because she's not well balanced on heeled feet, or perhaps she is loose. I would lean towards the balance though on a new doll.

I would maybe try a key ring, thread the cord through it like you would a key. Hope that helps!
