    OMG!!!! I got a new Bose L1 Pro 8 sound system and am wanting to use my RC 300 with it. When I hooked it up on Friday at a local venue, the sound was completely muffled and I couldn't hear anything hardly at all. It threw me off completely for the whole night. So I've been googling what do to and how to fix it. I came across this video and didn't think it was the solution, but I thought... can't hurt. IT TOTALLY FIXED THE PROBLEM!!!! now all my loops are clear and crisp and I can eq and set the levels individually!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! (yes, I'm yelling with joy and gratefulness). I was so sad that I couldn't use the looper with the bose. I thought it was a setting on the speaker, but nope... the problem was having all 3 tracks going through the same output. This makes me so happy!!! I can actually use the looper now!!! I'm not great at it yet, but I have a small setlist that I can use it on. So excited!!! Thank you again... and many more times!!!

    Juts stumbed across your video, I've been using the RC-300 for years now live - carefully mixing the volume of every instrument every time for every gig and unless it's perfect it can sound like such a mess when it's all combined!
    Been searching for this answer for so long without having to get a mixer with an FX send and return so this is absolutely brilliant! Thankyou so much for taking the time to share this, I myself and it looks like many others are very appreciative! ☺

    Great explanation indeed! Apparently sometimes it won't work but then it's because the system output settings of the tracks are set to main/sub and this overrules the local track settings. In the system settings it should be set to "memory" (go to these settings by pressing the system button and scrolling to the pages for tracks 1, 2 and 3).

    I setup the RC-300 to do the same for drum practice with each track going to individual amplifiers. The challenge sometimes is to maintain timing. The RC-300 transmits MIDI clock data at all times. I configured an Arduino to receive the MIDI data and control a strip of LEDs to flash the 1/4 notes so that a visual "click" is provided when the start is activated.

    I have been struggling with these things too. Maybe you don't have to pan the last one though since it's just coming out sub? Also why mute the input? Is it so you don't get different sounds when it starts looping? Isn't that weird when you play your parts? And can you not hear your signal when just playing along. I'm heartened and I feel I have learned something here but I'm missing some of the prices in my head

    WOW!! mind blown!! i almost want to re-do my whole set up now.. almost.. I knew about the left and right (there is a way to add 3 more individual loops, but you gotta have the same length per channel, and alot of triggers)..
    The only issue i have with this is the Mic (XLR input) does not go to left or right, it's only both.. in my set up..
    Mic - XLR (voc/percussion)
    Left input - Guitar (octave/ distortion)
    Aux - Ipad (keyboard/drums)
    Main out goes to me (my speaker, 12 inch QSC) so i have volume control over feed back from the mic ). I tell them, no monitors (just me)
    SUB out to FOH - in which can turn up or down
    .........
    Hear me out here.. unless you have the BEST sound guy ever in the end it's all up to you right?
    I Do really like this tho!! it's has 4 separate outs now... WOW!! when you think you know everything someone always has something to teach you lol.. Thanks!!

    • @MarcAllredVideos
      @MarcAllredVideos  4 года назад +3

      Love it!! So, for me in a live setting, I would run all these outputs to an onstage mixer and monitor that I control. Then I can dial me in perfectly as I would need it. I can also DI box every output, meaning I run a line to my mixer AND a line to front of house. That way I get my perfect mix and the front of house can do his thing.

    • @BongoJak
      @BongoJak 4 года назад +1

      @@MarcAllredVideos nice!! that's also saying you only use 3 instruments and or each instrument dedicated to each channel.. (i change things up depending on a song.. sometimes the bass and drums on the same track sometimes separate tracks.. tomato, tomoto)
      Appreciate the lesson tho!! I'll be following for more of these secret tricks you come up with!
      (my recent trick was the MIDI Kill Switch!! mind blown when i figured that bad boy out)

    • @MarcAllredVideos
      @MarcAllredVideos  3 года назад

      @@damion2226 I don't have a video with that just yet. The idea is, you can run each output to a DI box which will split the signal for reach output, allowing one set of signals to go to an onstage monitor system and the other set can go to the front of the house mixing station so they can mix the overall sound for the whole venue.

    Wow thank you for this very useful video. Two questions: do these routing settings apply to, say, memory #3 only or do they affect the whole system, in general?
    And when you set the input on MUTE, does it mean I can only hear the different sounds when they're recorded? I didn't get this part

    @Marc Allred thank you so much for this. Quick question! Where did you route those 3 cables into,a mixer???Before I ran across your video I put all three instruments into the Mackie Mixer and then ran a 1/4 inch from the main outs of the mixer into RC-300. Well that didn't fair well

    • @MarcAllredVideos

      I’d recommend doing it the exact opposite - run this three cables into a mixer and you can mix each track perfectly - or into DI boxes that go to your DAW/house PA etc.

      @@MarcAllredVideos Ok cool thanks. Also why did you mute the input out in the beginning? I know you explained in the video, but I don't get it? Sorry for the bombardment of questions. I am new to this stuff and I was thinking about getting an rc300 for fun as a hobby. I have an electric guitar. I was planning on getting a cajon for percussions and loop it with a mic. I can't sing so I was gonna do vocal melodies with guitar. For example, track one would be looped coming out of my guitar amp; track 2 would be looping the stomp box coming out of a pa, and track 3 would be either a guitar or percussion. Would all that be possible? I appreciate the help btw.

      Also, is there a way to also assign the right of the main output to the built in drums of the rc300? So if I’m using say for ex- “Simple Beat 2” it too can have its own separate out?

    Would it be possible to still have the "overall stuff" on the main right for example? I'm using the rc 300 with a kemper and I would need to return the overall signal back to the kemper for its fx return. I don't know if this would work since I set all the tracks to a specific out with the output Jack's or am I missing something here?

    If I am recording and using the RC300 as an audio interface to my computer (daw), the tracks will anyway be one mix, right? Unless they are router first to a second audio interface with individual audio outputs to the DAW. Unless I am getting something wrong. Thanks!

    Thanks for the video. I see how this works for recorded tracks, but all my "live" playing either on top of a recorded track or before I record one is muted, right? Maybe I fundamentally dont understand how to connect this looper, but i cant get this to work unless I choose main or main + sub...but i dont want that because then it sends drums / vocals and keyboard into my guitar amp instead of my PA.
    Can anyone point me a setup with these:
    1) guitar w/ guitar amp using INST L (mono). My amp has an fx loop (i dont even know if need to use the loop, but assume I might if i wanted it to play back guitar through the guitar amp?) Ideally, i can play "live" guitar stuff through the amp and my recorded guitar tracks/loops also play back just through the guitar amp. (This last part was covered in the video very well!)
    2) a mic for vocals. I have a PA but i think the mic goes directly into the rc300 "mic" port if i want to do beatbox loops to do beatboxing right. It would be great if the vocals played back just tbrough the PA and not both guitar amp and PA.
    3) a keyboard into INST R. Would like it to come out just through PA/keyboard amp. Is this possible?
    Thanks

      Without seeing your gear and settings I can only guess. I would double check how you've set up the rc300 output settings to the subs first and then check your jmix settings (gain, volume, etc). I'd be down to video call and see if I can help trouble shoot it.
