one of the Best Days of my adult life was the day I found my wonderful Boy Romeo,,, worst day was the day I lost him to stomach cancer,,, he was the most special of Canines i miss him horribly and even writing this with tears streaming,,, wonderful video of this special sensitive breed.

I have a rough/border collie cross but he looks mostly rough as he has the full white chest and red coat. He is the sweetest natured dog and loves everyone he meets. He turned out a very big collie, much bigger than I expected and is incredibly strong. He takes me for a walk!

I wish Id seen this video 7 years ago when my shelter Rough Collie had a sunburn on her nose (vet no help) constant diarrhea (charged me $800 for test that didn't result in answers) from not knowing what to feed her and again when she went into panic actions after I put on flea / tick stuff on her.. Thanks for the up load. It helps more than you may know.

I used to own 2 rough collies down size to shetland sheepdogs after my 2nd rough collie passed away in 2007 from nose cancer at the age 14 years.

Wonderful video! I would love a Rough Collie one day. They have always been my favourite type of Collie. Just wondering though, is there a difference in temperament between male and female?
Having been around Collies since I was a boy, I find that both have the same loyal, loving characteristics. In over 50 years I have not owned a male that bit or was aggressive in a negative way. The mothers however, can be protective.
That is interesting. I have only owned female yorkies (have twin sisters at the moment) and they have always been very placid in contrast to my experiences of the males of this breed and some others. A friend did have a border collie that had his moments but generally easy going. As a child, I did know a female collie (smooth I believe) and she was very loyal, protective and intelligent.

The 2nd most common color is "tri-color", commonly known as black. Thus is actually an original color of the breed, sable and others are already derivatives. White collies are rare - so not " the most common color" at all.
My rough collie passed away from nose cancer in 2007 at the age of 14 year. His body was a white sable and his head was sable and white with a white blaze down and he had natural tip ears.
There s also a tri collie what about that color I own a tri smooth collie awesome and amazing furry baby I have thay are so loyal and willing to please and as are sheltie s and labs too and cockers
Yes, you are correct and I should have added them. I have since raised two tri colors females and they are every bit as loving as my rough sables and as good or better around our livestock.
