But the Arctis 7 and the Arctis 9 are superior to the 7p. The 7P doesen't have the Surround Sound DTX 2.0

Just bought the 7p for my brother and he absolutely loves them! They are just as good as the Arctic 7 pro wireless and its so cool he can now have an amazing quality headset for the low price of $150 instead of $330. Thanks for the review! Makes me more excited to hear from a professional headset reviewer to say everything I expected the headset to be! Steelseries has been my favorite brand for years now and I couldn’t be happier with the quality of the products they produce!

Picked these up a week ago. After 10-12hr with then I gotta say these things are amazing! The custom eq (I used one similar to techne’s) is great. Sound quality, mic quality, build, everything - so good! This is my first set of steelseries and I love them and recommend them to anyone who is on the fence.
The Best One to get is the 7X. Which works on everything. Thanks for the review.

Ok but the ps5 only has one usbc port so you cant charge your controller and use the headphones at the same time

If that’s not free then there’s a usb-a adapter that works exactly h the same.
how is the sound quality?
@@meerabdulnadeem5714 I'm really happy with them. The sound is great, and you can tune it to your liking with the SteelSeries software in your PC. The only thing is that the dongle is not supported by Samsung Galaxy phones, I think previous to S20. Just an FYI I found out after.

I know they do work on next gen based on having them in my opinion I like them better than my a40’s which personally I like more than the 50’s and they will support Atmos!

For anyone looking to use the 7x on PC or PlayStation the game/chat mixer is only compatible with the Xbox. It does not work on anything else.
Thats a shame they didn’t give that feature for the PlayStation. I take it the game voice balance you have to do in the PlayStation settings

@@Captain-Chats Apparently game/chat mix via USB is locked down by Sony and only their own USB Headsets support this function. The workaround for headset manufacturers used to be to use optical for game audio but on PS5 this has now gone the way of the dodo bird but yes they should have atleast tried to get this working on PC.

@@luisalonzo3832 hi! Sorry this is so late but the headset was really good for a while but then I started having connection issues and the mic would cut out randomly. I reached out to tech support and they sent me a new transmitter which helped for a bit but the mic issue came back.
In the end I was gifted a Astro A40 headset and I am in love!!!!! But I know SteelSeries came out with a new version of these headsets in the video so maybe the problem was fixed.

Finally got me one of the 7x. Being able to connect it wirelessly to a console, and connect it to PC with the audio jack so I can hear both is super convenient and really makes the purchase worthwhile.

@@chainMMA Yes. I love them, they sound great and are comfortable. You can’t use the chat volume for PS4 (it just functions as another master volume) but for someone who doesn’t join chat party’s anyway it has no effect on me. Also if you do you can still manually lower chat volume or raise it from the PS4.

I bought the 7X recently to pair with my Xbox series X. It's crazy how good wireless headsets sound now, I really love having the dongle.
Can you charge them while using them? Or can you only use them wirelessly?

For those on the fence regarding the 7X as people are unsure which audio formats are supported, I can confirm after talking to Steelseries customer service that this headset supports the following:
PS5: Tempest 3D Audio
Xbox Series X: Windows Sonic Audio, Dolby Atmos AND DTS Headphones:X V2.0
These headphones use the exact same speaker drivers as the Arctis 7 which support DTS X V2.0

Hopefully this clears things up! I'll be ordering my 7X tonight and returning my Sony Pulse 3D Headphones. It's a no brainer in my opinion!
Just curious... how did the 7X do with your ps5? Did the 3D audio work?
Don't get these if you have a big fat head/a lot of hair like me. The band will not offer any support and your head will just be pressing up against the hard plastic once you extend the elastic too much.

I was BARELY in the good range, it had like less than half a cm to the band.
Arctis 1 wireless are also great and they accommodate larger heads. It's just that their cups are shallower and are very very very tight on your head. Headache level tight.
@@KraljHD glad im not the only one. I had an arctis 7' that I mained for about a year and had no support with the headband and dealt with shallow ear cups. No one ever mentions this in their reviews for some reason. They're great headsets, but definitely not for everyone.
Can you share if the 7X can be used with the dongle fron the 7P. I don't like the 7P because it doesn't have the chatmix dial, but if i get the 7X, the usb dongle is too long and will block the front PS5's usb-c port so i want to see if i can use the usb dongle from the P instead. Also is there any improvement from the old usb transmitter compared to a usb dongle as far as sound quality ?
The Arctis 9 are just too pricey, I don't need the Bluetooth, The black 7's are on sale now at BB for 125.99 but idk if they're inferior to the 7X. Thank you ! So confusing. On the Steel Series site it says for the 7X-

*ChatMix function only supported on Xbox."
Does this mean if I want chatmix on Playstation I have to either get the 7's from 2019 or the 9's(not the 9X obviously) right?
Also I just noticed the 7X and the 7P don't have the Bass enhancement or Dialogue enhancement slider that the 2019 7's or 9's do on the software which is another annoyance.
*How to pair dongle to a different headset*
Connect the USB-C Wireless Dongle to a Windows PC with SteelSeries Engine installed. Initiate wireless dongle pairing from Engine. With the headset off, press and hold the Power Button for 6 seconds. You will hear a tone when the pairing is
completed.
Also I just zoomed in on your video and the USB C dongles for the 7P and 7X are the same exact ones they used for the Arctis 1, but they're actually marketing them as different items on the steel series site. I grabbed me an Arctis 9 and will see if I can use the USB C dongle to use them for my phone and keep that 2.4ghz quality.

Just to point this out you forgot to mention the fact that the 7P is one of the only next gen headsets to truly be built around the tempest 3D audio on the ps5!

@@Kojoizfreshz while you aren’t wrong as long as they advertise it on Best Buy, GameStop, amazon and multiple other sites as a PS5 Headset! One of only 2! An has one of the only descriptions directed towards the 3d tempest audio, my comment stays relevant even if no one has tested them! If the company advertises it that way than it’s valid
I thought to get 3d audio on ps5 you have to use 3.5mm into the controller.

I've got the astro a20 gen 2 and they're way better than the original,looks comfort and small USB dongle, also with the xbox dolby atmos app when equaliser adjusted sound us booming loud ,like amazing ,its made my mate take his stealth 600 gen 2 back .lol,oh and arctis 1 are crap no separate game voice audio.
I use a HyperX Quadcast Microphone on my Xbox that requires the 3.5mm port to use on Console. That dongle that plugs into the controller doesn't have a 3.5mm in it totally voiding my Quadcast entirely. Damn.
Is the side tone/ voice monitoring always available, also when using it on a phone and or wired?
You have to use the SteelSeries engine software on your computer and adjust it there.
For every mic so far I've been cranking the mic boost on windows settings and using rtx voice to filter out the noise, it works really well.

I am so glad to have found your channel! When it comes to gaming headsets I find that I come to RUclips in search of some direction and you sir have helped me a great deal. I just recently (yesterday in fact) returned my Turtle Beach Stealth 700 gen 2 headsets. I loved the sound they produced however there were issues I just couldn't get past. Yeah there were the occasional audio skipping which gave off this kind of static-like sound which was annoying but what really did it for me was the connection issues I was having with my Xbox Series X. On a couple of occasions the headset would simply disconnect from my Xbox. The voice prompt within the headset said they were still paired but nothing would happen. Once they paired with my son's Xbox One X which is in another part of the house! So yeah, they had to go. All that said... would you suggest the SteelSeries 7X to someone who had the Turtle Beach 700s and loved them (aside from all the issues)?

@@yeaimrj9778 The 7p will be more durable due to the metal headband. The Pulse is all plastic. Also Sony had the damn dual microphone again so the quality will be mediocre at best. Steelseries has a amazing microphone especially considering it's a wireless headset

@@hulkxsmash7951 Atmos, DTS X Sonic , 3D audio etc translate to any set so no worries there. If you are getting multiple consoles the 7x seems to be the only one that supports them all, or the Arctis 1 wireless

The 700 gen 2 clamp force is really tight and it’s kinda difficult to stretch them out.i bent the head band in half lol.

This one worked for me unlike the 9x. I tried both. The 7x connects via adapter, and somehow that connection is different than the Bluetooth connection on the 9x. My modem and wifi is right next to my Xbox, and there were horrible connection issues with the 9x, and I had to return it, tried the 7x and it worked perfectly. Don’t get the 9x if you have a modem or wifi near your console.
The techne: STOCK CUISIONS ARE GAAARBAGE!

if the diference price is not so big (+30$) pick the artics 9 is more feature rich.
I would reccomend the artics 9 cause they have the bluetooth feature however idk if they work on the next gen consoles if u are intending to buy them. If u ARE goin to use a ps5 or xbox series X/S i would reccomend the artics 7p/x since they are the same in sound and comfort as the artics 9 the only difference is that the 9s have more metal parts and the bluetooth feature
9 has bluetooth and chatmix for pc and EQ setting to tweak in steelseries engine

Do you lose any quality of sound if you run this headset wired straight to the controller on series x?
Also would you recommend the 7x over the arctis pro wired on the series x?
I got these last saturday and i come from the astro a40tr + mixamp pro gen 4 and i gotta tell ya these sound wayyyy better then the astros. Amazing headset and super cozy!!!
I’m also thinking of upgrading my Astro a40 and MixAmp pro.. are these Arctis 7x surround sound??
The 7p doesn't have surround sound. The 7x i don't know.
@@davedekale-2266 so this isn’t really an upgrade form Astro a40 with MixAmp then really as the Astro has 7.1 surround sound.
Depends on what you like. I personally don't like the surround sound of whatever headset. I preffer stereo sound. And with the astros if you wan't to use them on next gen consoles atleast the full potential of the mixamp.. then you need to buy a hdmi adaptet from astros cost $40.
The sound of these steelseries are just way better than the astros with the mixamp. And these are wireless.

I got the black 7P headset 3days after it officially released and it had a hardware fault right off the bat. The left side was much louder than the right side and it made me dizzy in fact. Took me a week to process the return after they tried some troubleshooting. I only just sent it off today after having to pay £16 in shipping fees. Don't think that was a good first impression tbh.
I have the PS5 pre-ordered and was looking into some mid-high end gaming headsets for PC and PS5 to last me a few years guess I'll stick with the SteelSeries Virtuoso.
