Every time he gotten injured, every time his house gets destroyed, being trapped into cement and being taken to the zoo, SpongeBob and Patrick making him giant and getting kicked out of that Cephalopod lodge because it was very special to him
Squiward is definitely one of those cartoon characters that, as a kid, you hate his guts, but as you get older, you start to sympathize with him and the things he has to put up with. Especially when you're an adult and end up understanding a lot of things from his perspective.
You have 12 years of childhood, 5 of teenhood (adolescence), then 60+ years of adulthood. Once you get to adulthood, you can never go back to childhood. You hate adults, then you become one, then you have to deal with the next generation of children who don't frig'n get it, and that lasts for 60+ years and you can't go back to tell yourself what you now know.

That thumbnail made me realize how g**d**m disgusting Spongebob as a show got to Squidward from like season 4 to 9. There were times where he didn't even need the brutality, he was just living! LOL like season 1-3 he brought it on himself but you were still engrossed with him, having moral and humility. And then like... he just became a punching bag. I'm surprised that the time he got handsome didn't make the cut the more you think about it; At the Krusty Krab, after SpongeBob accidentally slams the door in Squidward’s face, he ends up at the hospital but his face gets a lot more chiselled. At first, it seems nice with all the attention he gets, but it soon goes wrong when the townsfolk refuse to leave him be. And when SpongeBob tries to fix his face, he becomes more handsome until one final blow reverts his face back to normal, and the townsfolk finally leave in disappointment. And what was Mr. Krabs’ first move? Slamming Squidward’s face again, multiple times hoping he will become handsome again, thinking he could have been rich with all of them touching Squidward. It’s another example of something starting nice for him but goes horribly wrong over time with a lot of physical pain.
