- One of the most gripping scenes in the new film about the Boston Marathon bombings and the following manhunt, is Danny Meng’s harrowing story of being carjacked by the Tsarnaev brothers. His courage to escape turned him from victim to unlikely hero, in the search for the bombers.
Without his bravery to escape the terrorists, police would've had no lead to find them. God bless this hero

If there's an uplifting moment in any of this, it's that Dun Meng actually pulled over to send a text.

I think it could be anyone who has the habit of always using the same numbers for anything like passwords, online purchases, and like this brave man did with his GPS and can end up remembering them out of those habits.

Meng was scared (who would't be) but he was brave in lying about the vehicles GPS, knowing the damn tracking number and leaving his cell phone in the vehicle.
His actions probably saved not only his life...but others to.

So, he pulled over to answer a text and they jacked him? No accident. A higher power selected him for the task. They knew he would be strong enough to escape and ultimately lead police to the bombers. Amazing story. Amazing film. A must see.

You are an inspiration, and I'm certain Americans are proud to have such a fine man that showed courage when protecting their people from terrorism at the risk of his own life. What a little hero 😊.

What he did really was amazing. I definitely would've panicked and gotten myself killed. For him to do what he did, that was amazing. Those Boston marathon bombers were also really bad at being fugitives though. They were colossal idiots.

sandra wise Yes indeed. I actually wrote this comment when I saw Patriots Day. I've lived in Japan the last 3 years and 7 months and I just saw the movie in theaters that day and I cried. Even though I'm a huge New York Yankees fan and absolutely despise the Boston Red Sox, I actually felt some chills from watching David Ortiz deliver that speech at Fenway Park.

The real Meng was an extra in the movie. In the scene where the actor playing him is having dinner with a girl, he's at one of the other tables.
I heard they do that a lot in Chinese movies too. I guess it's becoming a thing.

I just saw this movie tonight at 4 PM and I agree this scene was really suspenseful the guy had a lot of courage to escape from those terrorist douche bags that carjacked him.

If he did not run he would of most likely got caught up in the cross fire with police and probably lost his life. It was a brave decision and the right one to run when he could.

This escape attempt could have easily cost him his life. He got lucky.
They would have killed him if he didn't get away.
But, if he did not escape the way he did, he could have been killed. Whatever decision he could have made was dangerous.

He will be dead and New York will get bomb, and the most coincidence thing is his father bought him a car with gps.so tsarnaev brothers could be found.if his father is not rich,then the car will dont have gps.so all decision is related.cool and make me goosebump.

I think Jimmy O Yang did a great job depicting this poor guys fear and pain! I felt it. I can not imagine being in a situation like that or anything that happened that horrible day. He was smart and brave and helped catch these horrid men!
