    it really hurts and offends me when people say that tho was a pointless movie. I was at that finish line in 2013.

    • @littlehorseyhorsey
      @littlehorseyhorsey 5 лет назад +5

      The bombing? Or being at the finish line? This is made according to events on that day (according to the advertisements), but was that a day for those that ran and won or those that came to watch and got blown up for it? The tragedy then must be in this. There are people who write nonsense - or meaningless stuff. For those of us 'uncaring' of this - it has nothing to do with it being "pointless" - it was meaningless for those that didn't pay attention and it gets blown up and a lot of attention is spewed on about this. With a lot of romanticizing going on.

    I came here just to comment on this movie after completing it during a midnight Netflix grind. I am so amazed and moved at the way the film captures the endurance of human spirit. The thing that those damn terrorists, from any race, nationality, or religion, don’t understand, is that tragedy to society is like the breaking of a bone. Society cracks, sometimes in a major way, but we have this amazing, peculiar way to mend, not only restoring to our original strength, but twice as strong. Boston Strong!

    this is an phenomenal movie. this movie got to me really fast even though i was not in boston but i remember hearing about it on the news and the man hunt for the youngest brother. this movie tells you everything, it's like watching a documentary in real film. the fact that the film makers and actors went and talked to the real people and got the story from the victims and heroes of the boston marathon bombing and made the script from that lik 80 percent of it was awesome. some things like mark's character was fictional and the life of the brothers. at least i think. but they stuck pretty true to what happened and honored boston and it's citizens by doing so. and the cast that they picked to portray these people was amazing, john goodman, j.k. simmons and jimmy o yang. great cast and these actors meet the real people and got their stories. peter berg is an amazing director when it comes to these kinds of movies. the acting is great, the story is amazing and the directing is amazing. and i don't care what dun meng says he is a hero cause if it was not for him escaping the brothers and calling the police and on top of it all remembering that he had gps on his car and the tracking number they probably would of escaped and if it was not for the brave police department of boston and watertown the brothers would of escaped. these brave people prevented another tragedy and the governor did the right thing by shutting down the city so the younger one could not escape. and i can't forget to acknowledge the brave citizens of boston for helping their fellow man in a crisis. and the hospital staff as well these are true heroes. Boston Strong this is one of the best true events movies i've ever seen and this movie needs to win an oscar. Mark whalberg did an amazing job on producing this movie and acting in it. if you have not seen this movie then i recommend you do rating 5/5

But then it came the time when we had to say something about it and lift up our prayers. And I said this " I pray that the police officers there are ok and that they protect those who need it most." And everyone in my class was like ok. Now, that means so much to me that police officer really do care. They really do want to help. They are protectors.

    This movie was a massive eye opener. I had previously watched a film called “Stronger” which focuses more on Jeff Baumans experience with the Boston Bombings without researching and was not aware of the events that took place after the bombings. One thing I didn’t quite follow:
    In one scene they show Dzhokhar Tsarnaev’s (“White hat” bomber’s) friend find bombing supplies in their roommates(?) bag. The friends freak out and hurriedly put everything back in the bag. I may have misunderstood it but if someone could just explain this scene to me that would be great. As said earlier, this was a fantastic film that really left me thinking. 10/10 would recommend AND watch again.

      It's the director, Peter Berg, he's been recently making movies about true events. I don't care to go watch them because I just feel like it's going to try and make the movie about something other than what the event was about, i.e. love, strength, BS like that. Like this one, making it about love and hugging? WTF. This event was about a couple people deciding to detonate explosives at the Boston Marathon. Where the fuck does love fit in there?

    • @frankheck2854
      @frankheck2854 7 лет назад +3

      agree, same goes for Deepwater Horizon, they featured the heros, not the economic damage it caused. Lone Survivor, and hero yet the bigger pictures was a epic failure

    • @xon2013
      @xon2013 7 лет назад +1

      Lone survivor was almost good. I wish it could have followed the book a little bit better. The firefight they were in was actually over a period of about 2 days, from what I can remember. The injuries they received were actually accurate though and they did fall off a couple small cliffs.

      For me I don't see why a movie needs to be made about the community coming together and bonding. Who gives a shit. I'm the kind of guy if I get blown up and I'm still alive, I don't go and hug other people in my community. I get on my two feet and hunt down the mf's who blew me up and didn't kill me.

    I saw this with a friend of mine. After seeing the movie we had a bit of an awkward moment. In the row we were sitting in, there was this woman sitting about 3 or 4 seats next to us. During the movie at different times we left our seats. After the movie me and my friend immediately struck up a conversation and the woman sitting next to us was walking by us and she joined in. She admitted to me and my friend that when we both got up from our seats she felt a little nervous, for some reason it reminded her of the shooting that happened in Colorado. What I'm pleased about is that she didn't get too scared.

    I was 15, I was in Portsmouth NH with my youth group. We were there for a youth convention, we were sitting in the common room at the hotel eating dinner when we saw the news about the bombing. We stalled and cried and gathered in a circle and we prayed, the next day at church we took a good 30 minutes and prayed for all those who suffered a loss or injury, prayed for the officers searching for the bomber... Watching this makes me see all the damages America has come too today... I still pray for it.
