Your English is very good considering it is not you primary language. I really appreciate the fact that you are teaching us your techniques with the 9x radio.
Richard, thank you for your videos, i'm a beginner, not so good english too... But i love to fly,and build or modify my own rc stuff and because i suck in eletronics, i really need simple, objective and slow explanations as you do. Your work is great, despite all that ignorant comments from stupid and arrogant people. Here in Brasil, modelists help each other,so we all can have a great time in the field. That's the spirit.Competittion is just for the track! Congrats, and please keep your great work.
er9x owns. It not only makes 9x the radio of best value, it makes it one of the best radios you can get with any type of money. Just add FrSky and damn
who cares what language we speak?!?! that really annoys me! why can people not just learn, or watch something else??? thank you for the videos and you efforts to learn my language!!!
Great vid, thanks for the tut. Some of the AVR programmers come with usb connectors on board so you can keep the whole thing inside your TX if you don't plan on using it elsewhere.
@richardmrazek your english is great. You have many thousands of views, I am a native English speaker, and you are so easy to understand. Of course, your presentation is clear and intelligent, so that helps. Don't feel bad if a few people whine and complain. Think about all the people you HELP and who LOVE you. :-)
Yeeeeeees ....very good video. I am french but I can understand your language ;-) ....it is very understandable at my point of view . Thanks a lot for your video. You are great ;-)
Once installed a new soft (9XR),how can i do to back a old firmware 9X? I have bought a Flsky up grade 9XR, but i did not like, and would like to bring a old version 9X!
The voltage is OK, standard USB voltage. When I did mine, it was also reading that voltage. Double check that your programmer is installed and working (that device manager in your OS is not showing any exclamation marks). The voltage is not the problem I'm afraid.
Great video. Do you know if this procedure will work with th FS-T6? I need to install a firmware upgrade and there is no port on the T6 that I can find?
Thanks for the great info! :-) I've completed it all and all looks as it should. However, when i connect my tx to the avr and then into my laptop the tx low voltage alarm sounds and the screen shows 4.6 volts and won't allow me to program the tx. I've read your "Trouble shooting" and i presume the avr isn't putting enough voltage into the tx to work. I bought one of the avr's you suggested, the USBASP AVR Programmer. The read fuse icon wont come up? Just for your info i'm using Windows 7.
@remondo could the USBASP be kept inside and soldered to the board even when Tx is in use? If so all I would need is a USB socket in the side of the case.
@richardmrazek how is it stupid.. I'm being objective. however I certainly do appreciate all your work and have respect to you. perhaps I was in a blue mood mate. btw are you aware of user/gruvinnz and his work?
Richard, I might be one of the old dying breed who still remembers resistor color codes, so when I look at that ribbon cable, I see brown=1, red=2, orange=3 etc.
@OK2BCK @HeadShot360IN Was there any need for that? The guy goes to the length of recording a video in English, so we, the ignorant, English only speaking people we are, can understand it. Delas moc dobrou praci - Tvoje videa jsou super a dobre srozumitelna pro anglicky mluvici publikum. Nenech se odradit blbejma recma!
I did all this I got the programer check the wires 20++++++ times when i go to do anything it just gives me blank screen i get as far as eep asking me to flash than i get a white blank screen
hey guys... im try to flsh my th9x but i cant.. it said avrdude.exe: warning: cannot set sck period. please check for usbasp firmware update. avrdude.exe: error: programm enable: target doesn't answer. 1 avrdude.exe: initialization failed, rc=-1 Double check connections and try again, or use -F to override this check. anyone can help me with this?
Good video - very helpful. However, I found the connection for SCK on the transmitter board was not right. This might be because I have the V1 version of the transmitter. The correct position for the SCK connection was slightly lower, on the top of the 6th resistor from the right, as per this link (remove spaces and put the usual syntax at the start to make it work): dgkelectronics . com / blog / wp-content / uploads / 2012 / 04 / 9x_isp_connection.jpg
@OK2BCK of course its ignorance, nothing else. this is an instructional video on how to mod a radio transmitter, not a lesson in english. his english is good enough to understand the video, both to myself and quite a number of people. why do you bother berating the man for his poor english? do you enjoy making fun of people and their handicaps? your poor mother :(
Look on my pages. But - now I use for long time Open9x firmware - newer instance of Er9x. Look here Firmware Open9x for Turnigy T9x/FlySky TH9x - Introduction to firmware and options - ENG

I would not worry about your English at all. You sound perfectly legible to me. More than many Americans I know.

Fantastic video!! Lots of help! Sorry for the ignorant people. Kudos to you for learning different languages!!
Excellent video, clear and concise. Thank you for taking the time to make it.
@AsylumET and thank you for taking the time to make these videos. They have been very informative.

Great job. You are blessed for learning two languages.
Thanks for the detailed descriptions.
Also thanks much for doing this in English. I can imagine that it was ver hard to do!
Really nice taking your time to do this step by step vídeo, thanks a lot.
Yeeeeeees ....very good video.

thank you very much richardmrazek !!!!!!! from spain!!!!!
Thank you, you helped me get the best radio ever :)) now going for the backlight mod with resistor..
found it hard to pay attention due to slow talking manner but despite that love the content ....good job
How did you connect the 10 cables to the IDC connector? does it just clip on or do you have to solder each 10 into the connector?
Great video. Do you know if this procedure will work with th FS-T6? I need to install a firmware upgrade and there is no port on the T6 that I can find?
Thanks for the great info! :-)

Where did you purchase the connector? I'm having trouble finding a male IDC connector for connecting to ribbon cable.
Thank you sir for your kind work, could you please give me the detail description of that USB programmer so I can buy it from amazon or ebay..?
@remondo could the USBASP be kept inside and soldered to the board even when Tx is in use? If so all I would need is a USB socket in the side of the case.
Good video Richard .. gr8 job done
Thank you very much for making this excellent video tutorial.
Richard then how to connect PC with this 10 pin connector. which wire could be used or how to make the wire connect TX and PC ??
@richardmrazek
how is it stupid.. I'm being objective.
however I certainly do appreciate all your work and have respect to you. perhaps I was in a blue mood mate.

Richard, I might be one of the old dying breed who still remembers resistor color codes, so when I look at that ribbon cable, I see brown=1, red=2, orange=3 etc.
Color coded ribbon cable is nice, but how do I solder it if I got a grey one?
what is the benifitt of that , ?? please tell me , is it use for programming stuff....
does TH9B differ from TH9X? I mean, is the board older version, the wrong pad?
@OK2BCK

i think it will be clip-on but you have diferent types of connectors i think
Thank you sir for this excellent tutorial video
Can the Version 1 radio be flashed to the new Version 2 firmware and then use the Version 2 receivers?
You sound like my best friend who studied with me at school.
Great video. Bad hat.
Thanks Richard.

you spent a good three minutes going through the colours....
+C Park
Apparently he is colour blind :):):):):)
Thanks.. a little drawn out, very frustrating to watch if you dont have patients
@elliot330
well it is painful. ignorance is only your assumption, you don't know right
painful
forget it about shit language anyway... just n try it... if u fail that's your luck..
Dude, where did you get that IDC female 10 pin connector form? I can't find it
