    A quick unboxing and brief look at the Flysky Th9X 2.4ghz Upgraded Radio Transmitter with the FS RM003 V2 Module.
    The FS TH9X is now available with AFHDS 2A and that allows it to be used with most recent flysky receivers like the FSiA10B and many more.
    Plus the FS RM003 Module now supports failsafe option to secure you model in case of signal loss which was missing in the previous version of 9X model.
    The TH9X can be flashed to Open tx firmware and unlocked more features it has to offer.
    So is the Flysky th9x still worth in 2021?
    Well if budget is your concern than this is probably your best option to get a decent multi function radio system or to get a decent radio to use with open tx.
    Thanks for watching and Subscribe to my channel!

    Great video. I was looking for a detailed review of this radio. Is it possible to use a tbs crossfire module on this?

    • @RakishRc
      @RakishRc  3 года назад

      Yes you can. You'll have to use the jr adapter to mount the crossfire. Thanks 👍

      @@RakishRc Awesome vids Rakish. Is it possible to get Crossfire working on an 10 yr old FS-TH9X (Gen 1?) Although I opened up my radio and I saw the 6th pin had the solder point not the 8th pin, that means it is Gen 2??) Can you explain any other special steps to a newb? I have to flash OpenTX 2.1 onto it first, and then I just buy the JR module and receiver and it's plug and play? Or any other configuration/setup?

      @@brandoncoomes9794 hi, unfortunately express lrs or crossfire cannot be used with th9x due to hardware limitations. But you could use crossfire in ppm mode. If the solder point is on 6th pin then the radio motherboard is revised version. Flash open tx or er9x whichever you like and test it out 👍 with er9x there plenty of protocol option with multiprotocol as well that's missing in open tx.

      Which configurator are you using for your drone? Assign the same 3 position switch in aux channel for flight modes you want to use

    Can I ask how much range the transmitter and receiver?

    • @RakishRc
      @RakishRc  3 года назад

      The module has a specified range of more than 800 meters from flysky and the fsia10b receiver has a specified range of 500-1500 meters in air. I haven't tested the range yet. But my guess is it should do 600-700 meters easily in the air and about 300-400 meters on ground.

    Interesting, my TH9X does not have the 'Output' option in the menu where you change i-bus/s-bus.

    • @RakishRc
      @RakishRc  3 года назад +2

      It's only available with the new version that supports afhds2a protocol. But you can update the firmware for that too with turning afhds2a firmware and eeprom file on the old version.

      @@RakishRc Thanks man, that explains it. My plan is to upgrade to OpenTX or ER9X, althought didnt decide which one - just googling for pros and cons. What would you suggest if i may ask?

    • @RakishRc
      @RakishRc  3 года назад +3

      @@marcinsvr I like the er9x but it lacks auto swtich detection in settings. Also I have trouble maintning bind between module and receiver with er9x for some reason. With Open tx binding is flawless. Open tx is more than sufficient and a good choice in my opinion.

    • @RakishRc

      That is a problem with this module even though it's an updated version. Flysky did not fix that issue.

      Hi, if you're still interested in the solution stay tuned. I've found a way to keep all receivers in memory and not have to bind again 👍
