How is one baby going to restart civilization though? Who's going to raise him? The ide hadn't thought this through very well.
In the movie, its the death of that baby that causes the Ideon to freakout and kill everything, not the birth of the baby.
It's a 2001-esque cosmic star baby.
I think it's suppose to be an imagery that life is being born again
