  • Join us on a fun day out in Penang! Our first stop was to Lebuh Macallum to hunt down some legendary handmade baos at the famous Yik Keng Pau Store 一景包点经典手工包. This 70-year-old establishment is run by traditional bao makers who’ve been perfecting their craft for decades. Since it was the 9 Emperor Gods Festival, they made fewer baos than usual, but we were lucky enough to snag the last ones - 2 Big Baos and 1 Tau Sar Bao! The Big Bao was packed with a delicious filling of chicken, egg, water chestnut, and ginger, while the Tau Sar Bao had the best black bean paste filling I’ve ever tasted!
After lunch, we had plans to visit a Chinese Navy ship docked at Weld Quay, but the bad weather and large crowds led us to Gurney Paragon instead, where we spent a relaxing afternoon.
For dinner, we headed to Hamilton Food Market, a massive hawker center I’d never visited before. With so many food stalls, we had a tough time deciding what to eat but eventually tried the chicken rice, char hor fun, curry mee, Korean ramen, duck kway chap, and fried oyster omelet. Everything was delicious, and the ample parking made it an easy, stress-free spot to visit.
It was a satisfying day filled with great food and fun adventures. Don’t miss out on our journey across Penang in today’s vlog!
