My go to pattern for a cardigan, so thank you again 😊. I hope things turn around for you on RUclips. You do not deserve the BS with the other channel. I absolutely love your tutorials. So thank you for all the work you put into any and all video tutorial. You are great!!!
Hi Yolanda, I"m so glad you like it! Oftentimes crochet garments require lots of detailed work (increases and decreases, sewing the details together, etc), so I really wanted to create a pattern that would be easy to execute, yet provide a good fit. I really like how this cardigan turned out, and I'm so glad others like it too! Thank you for your comment!
I have tried my hand at several crocheted cardigans, but this one is by far my favorite. I never feel like I can't complete my project, I just can't wait to see the finished product. Olga, you are an excellent instructor that inspired me to do more of your patterns. Thank You!
I have now made two of these beautifull cardigans, thank you so so much for the plus size measuements in the description box for those of us who have basic computer and crochet skills.

Hi Olga, so good to see you again. I love your channel. I still have not made a cardigan...bc panels and all the sewing. But this is a nice one I think I can do. And I love the stitch! Thank you, from U.S. Florida
Hi Daisy, this is the second cardigan I ever made myself (the first one was a cocoon one), and I really like how it turned out. It's not that difficult to make at all. Happy crocheting!
@@OlgaPoltava Ooh, I didn't know that. A cocoon one..I would also like to try. Could you post link in your reply? Gets cool in the winter and these are perfect.
Hello Olga, hope all is well? Thank you for sharing this video and step by step on crocheting a cardigan. I am going to give this a try. Thank you for the size description as I need this being a large lady. Love the idea of being able to crochet the cardigan shoulders the way you showed in video. Thank you.
Hi Karen, you are very welcome! I'm so glad you like this cardigan and going to make it! I tried to design it in a very simple way because oftentimes crocheters are intimidated by advanced/complicated patterns. Despite its simplicity, it turned out pretty well! Thank you so much for your comment! Happy crocheting!
Hi Jeanna, yes, I was impressed myself taking into account that it's made in a very basic way, there aren't even decreases for the armholes. Thank you for your comment!
So glad I stumbled upon your channel today, IV been looking for a simple cardigan tutorial forever, this looks so simple and your instructions are very clear and easy to follow, can't wait to try, have liked and subscribed today, can't wait to finish my existing projects and have a good look through, your work looks beautiful..ty
I finally found a pattern for a cardigan that made all in one I don’t like attaching panels. I’m going to give yours a try. Thanks. I’ll let you know if I can do it.
This is the BEST easiest cardigan tutorial. I have been wanting to crochet a cardigan but am nervous because I have never done any garments. Thank you for this beginner cardigan. You are very talented Olga!!!
Hello Olga! Pretty The Cardigan . I was bought the pattern because I will asking my daughter Natalia if she is something want to wearing. Thank you for your tutorial and please stay safe! 😉😊😍👍
Hi Georgina! I hope your daughter Natalia will like it! Thank you so much for purchasing my pattern! I hope everything is well in Bakersfield. Here in San Jose the weather finally cooled down a bit, and the evenings are quite chilly. You too stay safe!
Just purchased your pattern off of Etsy. I can’t wait to try those. I love Caron big cakes yarn. I have a bunch of it so this is perfect. And I love the way it feels.
Hi, I'm working on a crochet fall video. Could I use your photo from this video and briefly talk about your video. I would link back to your video so you get traffic and credit. Is that ok? Thanks
I love this pattern and look forward to make it for my daughter! I am wondering, however, what measurement is used to begin with…how do you get the measurement of 60 for the 3x/4x?
Hi Olga, i just found your pattern and love the no sewing idea. I love the simplicity of your pattern. i have my yarn and i'm ready to start. If the full circumference of my hips is 44inches is that the length of the chain i should make and just adjust the rest of the pattern accordingly?
Yes, most simple stitches would work. But if you use some complicated stitches, you might have trouble when dividing the piece into three parts (for the sleeves) and also when making decreases on the sleeves.
Hi Olga, Thank you so much for your skillful tutorial. I'm thinking of doing this with different yarns in saturate colors. Perhaps in color panels and not stripes. Any advice?
I have a question if you follow all measurments for the small and do 8" on each side the middle piece is too small to split in 3 to form arm hole what could be the problem thank you
@@OlgaPoltava I finished my cardigan recently! I used Hobbii Metallico in Moss Agate and its come out absolutely stunning! Its needs a wash and a block but its so pretty. Thank you for this tutorial! My next challenge is making a longer version with the Dream Colour and a smaller hook!
Olga, love your new cozy looking cardi. What hook are you using? I would like to try the longer hooks but can never find them. I did find the longer ergonomic bamboo hooks. I really like those. Maybe you can recommend a comfy hook? I have severe arthritis and after ten years of avoiding all things crochet, I jumped back into it wholeheartedly. It actually has helped to keep my hands active. I crochet a lot, though, since I’m home on disability. The main problem is hand fatigue and hand/wrist pain. I know that I can’t get rid of it completely, but I just wondered what was the best hook for hand pain, etc., that you’ve tried?
Hi Laurel, I'm sorry to hear you struggle with severe arthritis. I don't use any special hooks, I have a set of Boye aluminum hooks, and I use those all the time. I don't get any hand pain or fatigue, but if I crochet for too long and don't take breaks, my back starts hurting. Unfortunately I can't really recommend any hooks.
Is there anyway to crochet the sleeves separately and then attach them? I have great difficulty turning the project around and around repeatedly to do the sleeves.
@@OlgaPoltava Thank you, ma’am. Also, to make it taller, like for a tall woman (not heavier), do I just add extra rows to the 25” panel? And then just make the 2 separate side strips the same height?
She has all of that info in the info/description area. Find the little arrow (upside down v), and lightly tap it. All the info on what you need and how to start the pattern is there.
Actually, the sample one that I made in the tutorial should fit 18-24 months. I am not very familiar with the kids sizing, I don't really have any young kids in my family that I could take the measurements off, so unfortunately no, can't really help.
I have my first question, I crocheted my begging chain with even stitches, did my double crochets and second row I did my front post and back post. When I got to the end, it looks like you ended with a back post double crochet, BUT I ended with a front post. Does it matter which one you end with?
You are very welcome! Here in the US, we use inches, but I know the rest of the world uses cm, so it makes sense to include the cm measurements as well. Thank you for your comment and Happy New Year!
