11:44 the fact that he wrote this, is an astounding musician and lyricist, but still struggles fingering the chord is very real and human for some reason
What a coincidence... Yesterday, before this video was uploaded, I tried my best to figure out the chords of this song. I wrote them down, and posted them on the website called "Ultimate Guitar" (www.ultimate-guitar.com/). Check it out if you want to!
Sondre, I have been a huge fan of your music for many years. It is nice to get a songwriting and lesson from you! Thanks for the great music! Hope you come back to Portland OR sometime soon!
This lesson makes perfect sense. I found it easy to understand and follow. Great job! I would call that one chord, with tuning a full step down, G minor with a B flat bass. Or B flat 6. (5:47)
Hi Sondre, if you want an alternative way to make the E/G# thing, try this one: 4-X-2-4-5-X, (where number 4 means you press the fourth fret on the sixth string, and so on... the "X" means you don't play this particular string at all...). At least for me, it gets much easier to make the chord this way!!
Your playing and music is amazing!! I cant stop listening to the latest albums and have been following you since your debut album. I just have one question: What kind of acoustic guitar are you playing on? See you on øya tomorrow!
Thanks for the tutorial! It's wonderful to hear and appreciate the chord changes, like star trek for harmonically inclined. I hear lyric "adjusting to re- press the chord" :)
Such a blessing to show your guitar tricks and advices If you ever find the need to show a bit of "guilty" I'll be all eyes and ears. Love those bonus tracks. (I think there's a capo on the 1st fret ;)
The chord at @9:00 is a D#m7(b5) -- imagine making a D#m7 and then taking the note on the 4th string (A#, which is the fifth of the scale) down a half step (making it a flat 5th)! I'm having fun learning this, if you couldn't tell...
This is what I needed. It reassures me that you have trouble making that chord too, haha. Thanks for this video Sondre, I love the song, greetings from Peru.
@@sondrelerchemusic I also always see that “Am/C bass” shape called C6. FYI my daughter Darcy introduced me to your music by taking my wife and me to your solo acoustic show day before yesterday in Seattle (Tuesday, May 23, 2023.). She had you autograph your vinyl record “to Eddie.” She thought I would like you especially because I have been playing guitar almost daily since 1967. I play many styles but never professionally. I play Teles, Strats, Martins, and a nice Takamine electric nylon string. Loved your nylon sound: orchestral! Sometimes piano-like. Some finger picking. Recognized most of your chord shapes-some cool jazzy chords and oh those Brazilian/Bossa Nova ones. Wow. Am thrilled to see this lesson. Thanks.
what a beautiful nylon string; is that a custom sound hole design or unique to the brand? Also I thought the same thing when you went to that Dm9/G before ye said it (a great place to go)
@@sondrelerchemusic Yes, indeed it is an Ami triad with C in the bass. However, when a minor chord has the 3rd in the bass, it doesn't as sad as minor chords that are "straight". So, it almost is "felt" more like a C6. Your music is very sophisticated and much of is attributed to your subtle melodic and harmonic selections. I am curious on who you influences are?
that must be serious mental block if you can't play that chord but the guitar so beautifully. even my fat fingers can do that chord and I am a total donkey on the guitar

Hey! Let me know how it goes - post your versions if you're feeling groovy!
My lighting isn't as nice, and red isn't my color, but hopefully this doesn't assault your ears: ruclips.net/video/MXp7aKChjU0/видео.html
Mary Rebecca this is so cool! Check it out everybody!
Sondre Lerche oh my gosh. I’m so glad you enjoyed it 🤩
This was so fun! Mine is premiering today at 4pm US Central Time: ruclips.net/video/Kr_nNR0M8oA/видео.html

Omg could you please do more tutorials like this? I'd love to learn how to play all your other songs :)

The existence of this makes me happy

It's supercharming to see superstars fumble with technology. :)
I really love seeing how much satisfaction and joy you get from a gorgeous chord.

I really love this song! Feels like i'm having a lesson. I wish i could play that song, but i dont have guitar haha
The first 15 seconds 😂❤ so cute
05:49 Sondre : If you know the name of this chord, please tell me
prof. google : it's C6
me : he says so
It's really just an Am in first inversion (a C chord would have a G note in there somewhere)!
This is awesome. Thanks so much for posting this as well as all the other videos and live-streams you’ve been posting lately!
Oh please please please make one for Why Would I Let You Go!
Jeg digger deg, Sondre! SÅ kult at du tar oss med på et dypdykk inn i din låt! Fantastisk! Har alltid hatt sansen for valgene du gjør på gitar!

Thanks for the tutorial! It's wonderful to hear and appreciate the chord changes, like star trek for harmonically inclined. I hear lyric "adjusting to re- press the chord" :)
